I think we should rename this thread; GTA Fakes and Piss Takes.

I was just thinking. If the game is set only in Los Santos, which is pretty much confirmed now. Will it be bigger than San Andreas in terms of actual map size? I realize San Andreas covered three cities and surrounding countryside, but everything was shrunk down and the cities were far smaller than any real city. GTA V clearly looks much richer in detail and bigger looking from what we have seen of it so far. But will it actually be bigger than San Andreas, or ever Red Dead?, since Rockstar have mentioned it is the largest and most ambitious game yet in their latest statement. Might as well start discussing it, but don't moan that the game is going to suck because it's not going to be San Andreas, that's not the point of this thread. Personally I hope it is bigger. And i hope to see loads of small country towns sprawled out over the countrysides, full of interesting characters to do side missions for and what not. /edit Here is some of the hard work put in by members on this forum: 'Fitty's Map (Final): DuPz' map (Final): Banana Pudding's map: Los Santos Blueprints: Image from an achievement/trophy icon: Brady Games Map:

Fuck no, I'll wait. Shit, I'll play it a few days late if they knock $20 off the price.

Dan Houser: "virtually none of the characters from the previous games returned, as a lot of them are dead anyway." virtually (adv) - 1: almost entirely - 2: for all practical purposes They aren't coming back. Just looking at IV shows you that in this universe of GTA games they never existed. You don't need Rockstar to tell you that, you only need to look at the game itself. And for that matter in the universe where they did most of them are dead. Besides, like Ast said, their stories are over. They were epic and exciting, but we've reached the end of their narrative, and to try and messily add on to it now would only serve to degrade it.

Allow me to rephrase, Lazlow isn't an actual character per se. Hes one of the main production guys creating almost every radio station since III. Young Maylay or Ray Liotta were hired to voice a character that actually appeared in the game's world as someone you could play as or interact with. When they created IV they hit the reset button on the entire GTA universe, basically deleting almost every event and all of the people the older games were set around, but leaving in Lazlow (who helps make the games) and their fictitious companies like Sprunk and the Bank of Liberty. In IV's Liberty City, the Forelli Family and the Leone Family never existed. Delete GTA III. There would be no Sonny Forelli to send Tommy to Vice City. Delete Vice City. There would be no Leones trying to take complete control of the casino in San Andreas, or basically the entire last 3rd of the game's plot. Also no Joey Leone for CJ to work for back in Liberty City in the late 80s/early 90s. Delete San Andreas. Face it, we've started over.

i am not really a big fan of the newer game console and all, but i loved the GTA San Andreas game, one of the best games i ever played and the best Gta game out there. So i prefer to stick with my old ps2 and play Gta San Andreas, but if GTA 5 ends up to be San Andreas on super steriods, with all, and the jetpack (there better be a jet back ) than ill rush down to the nearest gamestop and buy me a ps3 and get the son of a bitch!!!!!

It's because Niko had too much of a conscience. He could barely pull a trigger without going into an emo rant.

Well they mentioned South California, if it was pretty much just LA i doubt they would have mentioned it, San Diego I believe is pretty likely. Ya, San Diego is due south from LA on I-5, which just so happens to be the Interstate number used in the trailer? Coincidence? I hope not.

With the planes in there has to be at least two airports, otherwise whats the point? What I'm hoping for is a good medium-sized city on the other side of the map from Los Santos. Something like San Diego would be perfect.

Wouldn't care one way or the other. I'm going to shoot a female officer in the face just as quickly and enthusiastically as a male officer.

I'm not bothered about police bitches unless they're the four legged kind. Imagine trying to outrun a police dog.

I've been playing it since the original Grand Theft Auto was released, and before that I played Lemmings, another of DMA's games. So nuh. However there are a few references to 24 05 in the trailer as has been noted before; on the kerb at 0:54, and the trailer music was released on the 24th of May 1968. Of course 24/05 is the British way of saying it, if it were American it'd be 05/24. But Rockstar North are Scottish so that's easily explained. I actually hope it is May so it's less of a wait, even though I voted for October.

Worship Music is alright. Belladonna sounds great, the music just failed to really grab me. I've preordered my copy of Abzu. Can't wait. Proscriptor McGovern has fast become my favourite drummer.
