Wish people would let go of the hope that the guy in the trailer is Tommy Vercetti. I blame IGN for this... My guess is that the person speaking in the trailer isn't the protagonist but just one of the characters in the story who you do missions for, and what he says in the trailer is probably taken from a cutscene in the game like in the 1st trailer for GTA IV. Personally I hope that the latino looking guy is the protagonist as we havn't had a latino lead character in the main GTA games yet

They might, but they might also announce some info about GTA III, VC or SA on portable devices, on PS3, Agent, or just some more Max Payne 3 DLC. Or nothing at all.

They do other games at conventions, but not GTA. The portable titles are the exception to that.

I believe it is perfectly reasonable that GTA V could be at Gamescom. August 15th is the perfect date to announce more details (assuming a Dec 2012-Mar 2013 release), and it would be a great time to show off the game. The fact that Gamescom is a European video game convention supports my feelings. Of course this is not confirmed whatsoever, and just speculation on my part
