3 pointsI really don't know why people moan about that when you can just turn your phone off?
-
2 pointsBecause GTA IV was about realism. The simple things, like going bowling, or playing darts, are pretty entertaining for an Eastern European immigrant that had survived some of the most gruelling combat. I'm not going to lie, I didn't enjoy them, but I just declined when they asked, or turned my phone off. I don't see why that's a problem, and it's even more frustrating that game critics used that aspect as leverage against the game, when they didn't even mention that you can turn the phone off.

2 pointsI'm not going to go to sleep, or stop taking hallucinogenic drugs! Also, whatever that thing is, it's barely even humanoid-shaped. Not bigfoot. You were probably joking, anyway, but I have to take it seriously because sometimes you people have idiot moments that come from seemingly nowhere.

1 pointI can't believe how many people are complaining about the trees. Yes the trees are shit in GTA IV but it doesn't make the experience of playing it any less enjoyable. There's already an obvious improvement with the trees and other foliage and you're hardly going to notice the detail when running along, looking down your gun sights or flying past in your Cheetah. If Rockstar thought the trees and foliage needed a level of detail like "Lumberjack Simulator 3" then they would have done it but personally I'm more than happy with the marked improvements over IV we're seeing so far. How often are you going to be staring at them this closely?

1 pointactually a pretty good find, there's quite a lot of similarities between the 2 houses imho. 1 the white wall at the dj pult 2 the pillar supporting what looks like a pergola above the balkony (judging from the shadows in the trailer) 3 the windows going around the corner 4 the greyish tiles on the wall, when you look closely on the screenshot you can see that the corresponding area is a little greyish in the screenshot, not as whiteish as the other parts of the house 5 if you look through the windows mentioned in 3, you can see another, setback window which seems to be part of that house, similar setup in the screenshot EDIT: not to mention the cliff directly below the house

1 pointWhat we've seen in the screens so far is just a tiny selection of what's in store.

1 pointI am. And I was quite happy with these sidkicks in every GTA that had them, be it the sidemissions in the previous titles or just the "stupid" stuff like dating in SA/4. apart from getting you deeper into the game world, it also adds to the gameplay. I mean, what use is an open world game if the world is dead and barren? also, if I want a game that pulls me through the story and has nothing else to offer, I can also buy a random shooter
-
1 pointWhy not, the more activities the better imo. As long as the core gameplay is polished first, i'll happily play 10 random activities towards getting 100%

1 point"A bold new direction in open-world freedom" could well imply the player will have a choice in whether or not to take part in these leisure activities. Don't complain that R* have included a particular activity you don't like, be greatful it's there just in case you ever fancy trying it.
-
1 pointI really don't know why people moan about that when you can just turn your phone off? True. I have nothing against to some activities, they just to need make them more fun. That motorcycling in mountains seems to be pretty fun.

1 pointanybody else besides me think it would be awesome, instead of a tank, or a hummer, if there was a Marauder?
-
1 pointthis is way too general of a topic... it could be it's own forum category, so i recommend a lock... movies are movies, either talk about a specific movie, or start a topic about a certain genre or actor/actress or time period... make the discussion interesting, not so damn bland...
-
1 pointi really think, and going back to R*'s first official statement about GTAV, is that this is los santos and the surrounding countryside and beaches... if you're looking for san fierro or las venturas, then i think you're barking up the wrong tree, and will be disappointed when it's not there... i know i've said this before, but i think las venturas could be an entirely new game in itself...
-
1 pointI think everyone needs to get some sleep, or stop taking hallucinogenic drugs - seriously. I've had enough for today.
-
1 pointTo the people saying it's a person or an owl you're wrong. IT'S FUCKING BIG FOOT! Edit: Adding "real life" picture for comparison.
-
1 pointI've just had to remove a shit load of his posts AND replies. @qwob - Do yourself a favour and click the link below my sig. Now I can finally get round to looking at these new screens myself.

1 pointAre you sure you're not just meant to become Mothman? I mean, moths are very underrepresented in the superhero world. Except for Arthur, The Tick's sidekick.

1 pointAnd then maybe a announcement on Monday with a second trailer countdown

1 pointyeah would be cool to see more robberies, car chases, and perhaps even cops radioing each other on whereabouts of the suspect. the protag could have the choice of helping the criminal and earn cash/part of the loot and earn respect (if it works like in san andreas) also would like to hear random gunfights/bullet shots when driving around i think it would be cool as well to be able to buy a warehouse and save cars. and sell cars!! and i really like the idea of maybe buying and selling stuff, earn loads more money and stuff to spend money that you'll never get bored of. most of the stuff there will most probably happen but maybe not to your tastes. theyre not going to make it exact lke san andreas otherwise they would do a remake and a remake is lack of imagination.

1 pointI don't get why some people only listen to a single radio station the entire time. Obviously you start off with a preferred genre, but considering the number of hours I spend in-game, I'd go batshit listening to the same set over and over, even if the radio chatter varies to match "current events". Listening to other stations introduces you to new music and different artists...who you might end up liking enough to buy some of their stuff. It would be like not playing missions...it's part of the game, and I want to experience it all. For the same reason, I'm not interested in linking to my own music during the game. The sound design is a huge part of setting an epic tone, and when I hear Welcome to the Jungle or Roller or whatever, I like that it invokes the game for me. Listening to my own collection would take me out of the game, and feel less connected to the fabulous worlds that R* creates.

1 pointCan't agree more. Cars need to sound like cars, not lawnmowers. Also, since we're in L.A., I think it would be appropriate to see some SoCal 'Hella Flush' style rides. EK Civics, Integras, Preludes, old Datsun 240Zs, 300ZXs, S2000s... that sort of thing. More Jap motors anyway. VTEC, yo. And some American muscle is a given. Camaros, 'Stangs, Impalas, Chargers, Roadrunners, 'Cudas... And some slammed VW stuff would be nice, too. Microbuses, Golfs, Corrados, Caddys etc. I don't think it's the cars I'm looking forward to so much as the car customisation. I hope to god they bring it back. It's one of the features I missed most from San Andreas in IV.

1 pointSomething interesting that Dup mentioned, which I am now expanding on, it's possible we play as the other guy, and the old guy is an important character who we either work with for most of the game, or he turns out to be the antagonist. Old fella might just be giving a little of his own back-story.
-
1 pointYeah and it'd be the only one in the game, if you totalled it that's it, no going to that road in Bohan to make 20 clones of it.
-
1 pointGreat idea. No set time, but on random Saturdays/Sundays, a random parking lot could suddenly be filled with peds and classic cars and car show banners.
