3 pointsOr possibly a mini game of some sort that would depend on the make or rarity of car. Remember in games like China Town Wars or Sleeping Dogs where you'd have those instances where you have to rotate left joystick to undo screw, or match a 4 digit code before the timer goes off. If failure to enter correct code in alloted time the car alarm would sound. There could be various different mini games so things wouldn't get stale. The rarer the vehicle the harder the task. From simple rotating joystick 3 times clockwise to steal medium rare car (would be easy to do) to code matching and wire splicing for a very hard to find car. (Greater chance to mess up and signal alarm). Maybe some cars just need a simple item like a door jam thing you slide into window to trigger lock. Imagine an exotic car dealership to break into and hijacking cars. It would be more risky and a lot more fun then like the one in GTA4 on 2nd island where all you do is shoot window, jump in car and drive out broken window to escape a 1 star wanted level. With a name like GRAND THEFT AUTO, I think more emphasis needs to be focused on various way to steal cars and more auto theft missions in general. I would like to see a character that you meet fairly early in the game who sends you off on car jacking missions. This could also include a small tutorial teaching you how to sneak and use various tools to break into a car. First few missions from him/her would be easy robberies on a cheap car parked somewhere. Along the line you'd be stealing cars from people currently driving them, where you'd need to fight off the car owner and escape high speed pursuit. One of the final mission could have you break into the Exotic Dealership mentioned above and steal a mission only car on the top story which would lead to a long high speed chase down alleys and highways, avoid spike strips/road block, firing out your window at police and such. Missions like these where you meet the person early on would allow for character development where you grow attached and when something bad happens your willing to risk your own ass to help them or when they die off you actually feel the pain. Just a few ideas.

2 pointsLooking forward to this. I also enjoyed Live Free or Die Hard. Really liked the parts with Kevin Smith, and I'm one of the few people who liked Justin Longs character. Also, Timothy Olyphant is my honky.

2 points----------------------------- Assassins Creed III ----------------------------- After an incredibly long wait (I queued for this one for almost two hours!) i finally sat down and got to play ACIII on PS3. When i picked up the controller, i was given an option of different levels to play, sort of like the animus timelines from previous AC games i guess, but more like galaxy clusters not DNA. The first level i chose was set around some fort, i had to scale the fort from a little wooden boat and climb into the village grounds within the fortified area. Pretty straight forward climb up some muddy rocks, and onto a fort like structure. The graphics look a bit more polished, and the lighting was beautiful. This felt pretty much how AC has always felt, which is good, at least it hasn't changed in the way of movement and climbing mechanics go. I slid down some rope and kicked my way through the window of a barn like building. I went into stealth mode behind a wooden crate as there was some guard patrolling the walkway. I waited until he walked by and took care of him quietly. Continuing down the corridor, i come to a balcony overlooking a high ceiling storage room full of more wooden crates with more guards patrolling. After a bunch of climbing puzzles and lots of wooden platforms in a load of different rooms. I ended up in a heavily guarded living quarters retrieving my objective from a hidden stash under a brick floor. So over that was a pretty standard AC mission. The environments and random conversations between guards heavily reflected the era and made the mission much more fun that I've probably worded it. That only took me 10-15 minutes, so i still had time to start another mission. This time i chose something much more interesting. A navel battle. Straight away i was shoved in control if the ship moving furiously through strong waves weaving between large rocky island formations off the coast of the mainland. The controls were surprisingly easier than i expected, as it seemed like it would take a lot of effort - but no it controlled well. The environments looked beautiful as i wonder between them, and suddenly a ship crossed past in front, and a rail of cannon balls explode straight at me. The physics were amazing, as the balls hit, the impact was relevant people fell back as the ship sort of stopped suddenly only for a split second, which made the impact even more realistic. I started to turn left pressing some commanding buttons as my crew ready my cannons, and then a hail of cannonballs exploded leaving gunpowder dust floating all around, and the balls flail in the direction of the enemy ship as it tries to take cover behind an opposite rocky formation. Before it escapes i manage to get one or two contact hits on the back end of the ship. The ship pops out the other side and starts to float parallel to me. Again cannon balls shoot straight at me, and hit, my screen goes red for a moment. And i shot back. Every cannonball hits, the ship explodes in places, wood rips apart and the boat sinks. Straight behind the last, two more boats are gaining speed. The weather starts changing in real time from sunny to cloudy and raining, with thunder and lighting and the net ship approaches. Again i command the crew to fire at the ship closing in. I hit and then... ... I get told that my time is up! The ships were very easy to maneuver. They still have that sort of weight you'd expect from a heavy ship when turning, but it wasn't bad at all. The whole sense of atmosphere when knotting through the waves was intense, and all the shouting and cannon balls gong off and even sea birds squawking just made it all that much more fun. The commanding crew was fairly straight forward too. You chose what you want the crew to do and they do it really. When choosing a target, you get a sort of way-point to control, you move it across the water surface until you're happy with the placement and then click it and they do everything else for you. Overall i was very impressed with the navel battles. Whether or not it will be as interesting after three or four plays is something i'm concerned about. As long as there is a verity in coastline/sea battle areas i think it will stay interesting. Also, i'm sure if you youtube search 'AC3 navel battle' and 'AC3 Fort Wollcott' you may get some footage of the demo. ----------------------------- Hitman Absolution ----------------------------- Coming soon ----------------------------- Metal Gear Rising ----------------------------- Coming soon

2 pointsAnother great idea, most modern luxury cars have great security that would take more time to bypass ( than just breaking the window and using a screwdriver to start the ignition, or cutting and rejoining wires ). They should implement immobilizers so that if you steal one of these cars and don't bypass the security system, the cars engine shuts down, the doors lock and the police are notified of your location. To bypass this you would need to hack the cars computer and override the immobilization system. And you would only get the device for this later in the game. Maybe through a chop shop side mission from a business front you can acquire in game. Instead of that "cheat", they should make Safehouses easier to defend and start sieges in, by adding booby-traps like - rigged shotguns, motion sensor/ remote activated bombs, automated turrets that fire at anything that moves, having the ability to release guard dogs or other animals ( tigers? ), having other mafia/gang members defending your apartment/ compound/ mansion. And lastly being able to barricade certain areas so you can funnel the Police /FIB/ Army into these traps or to your defensive position. Obviously this would be alot more fun if the Law Enforcemnent was tougher. So they should have attack dogs/ flash bangs/ tear gas / riot shields and hand grenades ( for the Army ). Also would be great if the police had a high powered water cannon for Riots at their headquaters. Would be fun to use against NPC's. And a Grenade Launcher that can launch tear gas ( for more fun with NPC's, seeing them crying and vomiting ).

1 pointHaha It's funny because I'm using the dark skin which makes it much harder to read and thus understand your main point. *sigh* Still doesn't understand what "so far" means.
-
1 pointShotguns should knock you to the floor. At medium/close range. Sniper rifle should definitely swing your body a bit.
-
1 pointI've wondered that as well. I like history, and it's relatively easy to remember stuff. But learning from in depth games like AC is just so much better.
-
1 pointthats a very good reason why they should be in the game. "largest and most ambitious game Rockstar has yet created" - if its anything less of what SA had, then its not. im only believing what R* have revealed (LS and countryside so far). theres no reason for believing those cities wont be in the game though.
-
1 pointThat reminds me of the days I used to play Zoo Tycoon, and I always placed random guests into the tank full of vicious man eating great white sharks.

There was atmost 1 star wanted level. This should be vastly improved....

1 pointNow you can sleep through the whole thing? I might just get this now I know it won't set me back my life savings.

1 pointI agree 100%. The HD remastered version is amazing. I can't get my head around the process, although i know it involves projecting the old film reels at a higher def using digital technology, and then lots of grading. I just can't understand how they managed to get it so crisp. I guess that goes to show, old film negatives can be projected quite high res. I might have to go back and look for some old negatives from my younger days and see if i can get them printed with digital technology. You also mentioned the sound which is a good point. I watched this film so much, i used to end up falling asleep towards the end, and then being woken abruptly by the final showdown gun fire in the mansion. They managed to balance the sound effects a lot better this time around, for sure. Trust me Vicey, you'll notice the difference with this film. Like Goodfellas the original was pretty grainy and low quality, also it was interlaced, so you never really had a clear frame, it was always crosshatched with the next. The blu-ray version is so much clearer visually, and the sound is remastered completely. Original: HD:

1 pointbought -> THIS VERSION <- for something like $10-$15 on a blu-ray sale on amazon... i was just now shocked to see what it goes for these days... i feel like i should of never opened it, but the blu-ray version is so much better... the world comes to life in HD... no more dark corners or scenes at night being lost in the darkness... no more blurry scenes or extremely loud BG music blasting over the dialog... all was brought back to life... i was waiting YEARS for a blu-ray copy... one of my all-time favorite movies finally got the HD remastered treament... and of all the movies out there, this was the one that needed it the most... EDIT: just looked it up, since amazon lets you know when you've bought this item ... $11.99... seriously...

1 pointAsking people not to be racist was an invitation for it to happen jokeingly. Why would anyone have a reason to be racist on a forum thread about parkour abilities in a video game in the first place? It's not like this is a topic that would illuminate differences between those with differeing ethnic backgrounds. People are just messing around, and mostly messing with you, and personally I find it hilarious even as someone versed in social psychology who is completely against racial profileing and stereotyping. Honestly I question your motivation for putting "no racism" in your original post. It's not like the worlds full of ignorant racists you honky.

1 pointThat's why I think San Diego would be a terrible choice for another city. If the first city was something like Chicago, then San Diego would be okay.
-
1 pointDefinitely, I can't see how shooting down some planes is harder than flying across the city in a shitty, hard to control plane trying to take out vans... while on a fuel limit.
-
1 pointShot in the shoulder, collapse to the ground into a flexible mess, hovering around until you reach an area where you can stand up in, only to get shot by an automatic rifle again and again. Yup, sounds fantastic.
-
1 pointLOL so what is according to you ?! Simple animation repeating at every hit? LOL Ragdoll is the best solution in games. U also like to be better than npcs u dont care about balance in games. I dont like people like this. They just dont care they just want things, simple things and thats it for them. Pathetic. Ragdoll for enpcs and for player that would make great balance and challenge not to play a terminator like style. I wish that u would be test target and someone would shoot you while you wearing bullet proof armor. Then U would change your mind very fast. But this is not possible for someone sitting in front of monitor and only playing simple games. Wow, that was an extremely sudden display of proud americanry, I'm impressed. You also have no fucking clue what you're on about.Short of a midget being hit by a .50 cal, no one is going to be ragdolled when shot. I have seen people being shot, a lot. You don't go limp and flop around on the floor when it happens.

1 pointWhat I meant was, I don't think it's possible to include 3 large scale cities, in full detail. And we're heading back to the state of San Andreas, not the game. It could just be a part of San Andreas, rather than the whole state. The map was also more realistic than any other GTA before, obviously because it was part of the next generation. I'm also not saying they will only include Los Santos, because that's pretty obvious. What I'm saying is that it's more likely to include a version of San Diego in a GTA version of Southern California rather than SF and LV.
-
1 pointWhy would they have to cut back on detail for? Los Santos doesnt appear as massive as gtaiv was in its self.... Maybe 2/3 the size... Your assuming way to much as to what is impossible.... Gtaiv might have been realistic, but if your looking for a trend look to the total evolution of the game.... Lotd and bogt.... Moving toward less realism. Also, the map wasnt realistic in gtaiv anyway.... How can you go back to san andreas without going back to san andreas. Only including los santos would be extremely bad optics...

1 pointHow the hell is it probable? Because you think so? Because from my understanding (correct me if I'm wrong) San Francisco and Las Vegas aren't part of Southern California, or the surrounding areas of Los Angeles. How is it probable that they will return? There is no evidence or suggestion whatsoever indicating that they will, so please, enlighten me on why they will return. Well, it says reimagined southern california... Who says how far they can reimagine it. I dont know how you can go back to san andreas, without going back to san andreas. The liscense plates say san andreas....

And a Grenade Launcher that can launch tear gas ( for more fun with NPC's, seeing them crying and vomiting ). Exactly.... There must be some difference in stealing different cars. Normal cheap cars can be stolen easily, whereas high end sports car, specially modified cars (if car modding available) must be time consuming & hard to stole. Even some cars should have tracker fitted into it. Which sends signals to police & owner till it is active. So then we'll have to take it to secret garage at the far end of the map to deactivate the tracker. & if the tracker is kept active, police could trace the signal to try to hunt down the criminals. Actually it's a expensive exotic car & you should perform some steps before you can store it to garage. Same shit is there with evading the wanted stars.. I mean this is really stupid how you can evade 6 star wanted level only by sleeping on bed. There should be something like, you & your gang should defend your safe house at-least for certain time, then only you can enter & save the game. Defending your area & safe house from police & other rival gangs is really cool & must be there in V.

1 pointI like this. You should only be able to have weapons that can be carried realistically and hidden effectively. Fot instance wearing a Jacket so you can hide a sawn-off shotgun down the back of your pants, and multiple semi-automatic pistols and machine pistols in your pockets ( and being able to dual wield these ) and in hidden holsters. Plus knives and other hidden close quarter weapons. And if you want a bigger weapon like an SMG/ Assault Rifle/ Rocket Launcher you could customize your car to carry weapons in a hidden compartment in the trunk. And take one out when you need it. Also being able to customize your weapons. For instance having an M16 and being able to add an underslung 203 grenade launcher, a high powered scope, suppressor, laser sight attachment, and taped dual mags to make the weapon more efficient and valuble. If they re-introduce the RPG elements from San Andreas, it would be great to make the player's character really obese, go and hassle the police only to get tazed, and then laugh in their faces as the tazer has no effect.

1 pointYep, i had plenty of random pics with MGS fans, and general people, as well as photos with the expo press. There's a chance i'm on the expo website. I've not bothered looking though. More reviews/previews as promised ----------------------------- Far Cry 3 ----------------------------- Lucky for me the queues weren't that long when i arrived at FarCry 3, so i jumped at the chance to play it. The game ran on PC at full settings, so it looked pretty impressive at first sight. I opted for the Xbox controller rather than the keyboard, as i always prefer a controller in hand. So, i dive in, and i'm sitting in the middle of an amazing vista surrounded by large hills, mountains and loads of trees and grass, all looking beautiful. I start walking, the movement feels good, and the cross-hair moves fluidly. I'm instructed to go repair some signal tower without going into any details, i start heading in that direction. Sprinting through loads of tall grass i happen upon a little village where i find a rusty little car that reminds me of an old fiat. I steal it of course, and drive off-road towards my goal. The car handling was also very good. And felt like i was driving on mud rather than asphalt. After i had fulfilled my mission parameters i went on a freeroam and managed to find a cliff face with an ocean beyond. I was lucky enough to have found a Wind-glider sitting on the edge of a cliff, so i was on that shit! This looked amazing, gliding felt easy, and relaxing as i took in the sight. I started gliding towards a nearby small island out to sea. When i got there, i found a few secrets (wont spoil anything), and then i wondered to the other side to find myself a conveniently placed Jet Ski. So i climbed on and started riding the waves towards another, much larger looking island. The Jet ski drove well, as expected by now, and then.... ...i get a red screen. I was a bit confused as first, i thought i triggered a cutscene or something, until one of the dev guys came up to me and apologized, and told me that it had froze. Apparently this had only happened to two other PC's on the Far Cry computers since the opening. And Said that this wouldn't normally happen under normal circumstances, it was the heat of all the PC's beside each other, running all day for four days straight. Anyway, apart from the obvious major fuck up, i think the game was really impressive to play. It had that sandbox immersion that most people crave. The feeling of wanting to know what is ove that next hill. The controls were in my opinion flawless, and really complimented the visual side of things. An the sound and graphics were top of the range. I wasn't even considering getting this game straight away before playing, now i'm definitely going to consider buying it day one if i can afford it. ----------------------------- Crysis 3 ----------------------------- So after queuing for what felt like hours, i finally got my hands on Crysis 3. It wasn't actually story/campaign mode as i was hoping, but at least i got my hands on it. They chucked a bunch of us into a competitive game called 'Hunter' Mode, Where merc-ops had to fight it out against some invisible stealth hunters. The game was very biased, in that it favoured the hunters a lot. Once killed as a merc-op, you become a hunter, so it's like infected mode in zombie mods i guess. The hunters got to use the carbine bow which was beyond powerful. Anyway, mechanics. The controls felt a little awkward to start with. I don't know if this was because i was playing on an xbox or not, as i had no idea which button did what to start with. Either way, the characters felt a little slow wondering around the map, even when sprinting. The weapon firing was pretty good. The carbine bow had the best feel to it, as each shot felt like it had the impact behind it. The map was an interesting overgrown post-apoc city environment, and had multiple platforms to shot from, which is always good for advantage/disadvantage points. The map lacked some iconic areas if i'm honest. Most games that have competitive maps always have that memorable part. Maybe it was my lack of gameplay or maybe not, i dunno. I just felt like the whole map looked the same... After about 5-10 minutes i was pretty used to the controls and setup and started climbing the scoreboard. In the end, my team won the mach and got free Crysis 3 T-shirts for winning. So this didn't really help me in knowing anything about the main game, so i can't really swing my opinion in any direction other than the multiplayer was okay, not amazing. ----------------------------- Metal Gear Rising ----------------------------- Coming soon ----------------------------- Assassins Creed III ----------------------------- Coming soon ----------------------------- Hitman Absolution ----------------------------- Coming soon

1 pointThe law has always been the tertiary factor in the majority of GTA games, the plots tend to revolve around "bad guys". Most of the cops that feature prominently in any GTAs tend to be corrupt; Ray Machowski, Tenpenny and McReary, you could argue that Machowski and McReary are generally "good cops" who have turned to crime to defeat a larger evil that they otherwise would not have been able to do via conventional, lawful means. Tenpenny on the other hand is truly corrupt as he attempts to exploit his position and operate outside of the law on numerous occasions. In this sense it would be very difficult to have a primary antagonist who is a "good cop" - one who plays by the rules and doesn't twist the law to their advantage, it would severely limit them in how they can compete with the protagonist. I'm sure R* could pull it off though if they chose to. Hah, that'll make the noobs scratch their heads.
