5 pointsWho actually remembers the first time they played GTA IV? The map isn't that small... People seem to think it's the size of GTA III's version or something. Fair enough it isn't huge like Just Cause or something, but Rockstar always go for quality over quantity, so if the entire map is bigger than all three of R*'s biggest games to date, then that's saying something amazing... If LS is around the same size as LC, I'm okay with that, that's a whole game space in it's own right. The rest is just a bonus imho...

3 pointsI've got some more info to add to your map Fitty. Unless you've done that already? You see that tall building that i marked in white. It's on that big panoramic observatory image, to give you guys an idea where the mansion is located.

2 pointsWere you referring to this helicopter shot.. http://www.igta5.com...__fromsearch__1 Because ^this and that sky diving scene from the trailer doesn't prove that there's no city behind the VineWood sigh, they don't prove that at all. *sign the number of helicopter screenshots is too damn high... I was talking about this one from summer no not from summer... meh in the skydiving jeep scene from the trailer, we're looking down at the area on the upper right, the jeep covers the circular structure we've been speculating about being a prison or military installation. the 6 dots between that structure and the hill in the upper right corner are the sattelite dishes seen in the 2nd trailer and also visible in the skidiving jeep scene. that scene doesn't reveal what's behind the entire vinewood hills, but you can cleary see that the area immediately behind the vinewood sign is pretty barren land, comparable to the mojave. now, like I said already, it's still not revealed what's in the area behind the observatory, but my guess is that there's the same as behind the vinewood sign, desert. not saying that there's not a town or something, but if so, I guess there's nothing as dense as the Burbank area, more like Barstow, Bakersfield etc me too. one day Los Santos is so many times bigger than LC, the next day is about as big as LC... what next? the size of GTA:SA's Los Santos? EDIT again: speaking of the new helicopter screenshots, isn't that Chateau Marmont off the right top of IAA?

2 pointsyou know, dr. paul was right in that video... the only problem is this; that's the reason behind the succession, and it's just downright laughable... what about over-policing, or over-spending?? what about limiting more freedoms or trying to control the citizen?? most people are missing the point, and it's downright laughable... fuck abortion or gay marriage... that's a state thing... fuck religion, that has no part in any aspect of politics or government... sadly, however, religion has been the driving force of just about every single empire... and it's a power that needs to just give up... religion has always been about controlling the follower... and sadly, most of us sheeps following the herder... not a lot of you here though, you guys always question shit... i have healthier debates here than i do with the world i converse with... it's pathetic out there, thank god for GTA...

1 pointI have a theory that surveillance cameras and security systems will play a major role in GTA V. My theory originated while combing through the premier trailer and finding two signs that warn players of areas that are monitored: Finally, I found an actual camera modelled within the trailer, here: Because the game will revolve around prepping and pulling heists, I figure that a working surveillance system for bigger risked jobs (like this Rodeo Drive inspired jewelry store) would make sense. I think that these security systems will work similar to the "bandana" mechanic in Red Dead Redemption. Although the old west didn't have any cameras to monitor John Marston's criminal behavior, he concealed his face with a bandana. Witnesses to his crimes could confess to the local authorities and a wanted poster would appear in the towns describing John Marston. If John was creating crimes without his face concealed, the authorities and bounty hunters, had an easier time finding John. This system was remedied by paying a fine. GTA V's system would have to be a little more sophisticated. For instance, if the player was robbing the same jewelry store without anything on to conceal the player's identity, the camera could i.d. players and help the police pursue anyone who matched the player's description. Could security cameras also trip the store's alarm? Could some be motion-detected? Furthermore, as the game progresses, I'm sure there will be more creative ways to get around being recorded, such as destroying said cameras or removing their hard-drives they record on (or tapes?). Places like Pleasure Pier would be difficult to perform crimes on because of the security systems, which would ensure that authorities would arrive onto the scene quicker. Maybe there's a bounty system Rockstar is carrying over from RDR and updating/modernizing for GTA V. What else could security systems mean for GTA V?

1 pointI think this screenshot shows the scale of the city far better. Downtown looks much further away from this angle. The closer to the ground you are, the more accurate the city scale will seem, as it's the perspective we will be playing from most of the time.

1 pointHey, I'm new here, was wondering if anyone had noticed this? 5x5see.jpg[/img] I've stuck together a full overhead panorama if it's any use, probably not.. Could be, you can see an airstrip on the bottom right of the overhead shot. I don't think it's the exact same sign because of the surroundings but it might be the same area.

1 pointGot this the other day, the campaign is pretty good for a COD game, but the online multiplayer is pissing me off no end, There's so many campers at the moment, more so than normal. Luckily Hitman's out next week.

1 pointrockstar are good at making games, but from a business view, there not good at releasing them, red dead, max payne 3 and gta iv were all delayed
-
1 pointOk, I'm loving all the screen shots, but I wish they'd show us a little more variety, rather then the same helicopter from 20 different angles. Still amazing though.

1 pointIn the Second Trailer at 1:18 seconds in, the "Black Guy" sliding over the car is wearing a Purple T-Shirt ( Possible Ballas Gang Member ). At 42 seconds in if you look carefully ( with High Definition on the video player ) you can see a Ballas tag on the bench next to Michael ( as pointed out by Marcus in the Post before yours ). And lastly Franklin's character synopsis in the GI Article says he is an ex-gangbanger, with his friend still possibly being one as well. And in the trailer if you listen to the banter between Franklin and his friend you hear them talking about; "Slangin' Dope and Throwin' up Gang Signs". As for any official word from Rockstar I can't say. But what I can say is in my opinion gangs of some shape or form will make an appearance in GTA V. But too what extent, I don't know. Hope that helps.

1 pointThere isn't really many choices when creating a mobster/gangster character. There's a few archetypes that cover a gang characters persona, which obviously you could try and avoid, but wont actually be able to, because they are based on that kind of character (an ex/gangster)... Confused? i am xD It does make sense though. R* will try to be original, but we will always find some semiotic reference in the influence of the characters existence.
-
1 pointThere's quite a few buildings up in the hills, but yeah the city doesn't seem to stretch beyond the basin. Just thinking about the size of the map once again. There is clearly something huge left to reveal, that R* are still keeping quite. I have a feeling Mont chiliad is going to be the main spectacle on the map. With the possibility of a snowy environment at the peak. The Max Payne 3 code (GTA V) vehicle list had the cuban 800 (Trevor's red plane) in it, and there's a few snow vehicles. That's the main reason i think this.

1 pointYeah sorry dude, i didn't really think about presentation until i was knee deep in jizz! Work in progress lol.

1 pointTo be fair, if LS isn't big enough for people, it's mostly the fans' fault. I saw a lot of bitching about wanting countryside back, not a lot of bitching about wanting a bigger city. *Shrugs*
-
1 pointWell, the buildings we're focusing on are just downtown, right? There wouldn't be skyscrapers in the ghetto areas?

1 pointIf it's true to LA, there will be some modern 'cultural' music. In GTA IV there was Ruslana's channel, and in Liberty City Stories, the Indian channel. Both of which had popular music to those cultures, that I had never heard before. I remember a huge Armenian population in LA, as well as Asian. (Koreatown, Japantown) Bet there will be those types of radio available. Maybe not your favorite, but available none the less. Of course 200 years ago California was Mexico, and Mexican/Mariachi music has always been a staple. I remember always having Mexican music available on radio growing up in California. Wouln't mind any of the modern Mexican Rap/ Hip Hop where they sample old school mariachi. One band that was infamous for this was 'Delinquent Habits' whose music showed up in mainstream films like "harsh Times" featuring Christian Bale. Their first CD was produced by Sen Dog of Cypress Hill.

1 pointThe sacred weapon of all pyromaniacs. *hopes* The very existence of flamethrowers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, "You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done." -George Carlin

1 pointThrew this together almost literally. Just playing around and having fun. I pretty much just took the screens randomly then threw in text of the first thing that entered my head. its not really supposed to be funny....just stupid.

1 pointNow we know that the story revolves around 'heists'. Can anyone think of any decent heist films? Classic would be better, i guess, as Dan only takes influence from classic material. Dan Houser & Rockstar North must have taken influence from some. I'd like to get the references when i play it! Here are some I already know of: Films to watch before playing GTA V Ocean's Eleven (1960) Snatch. (2000) Heat (1995) - Already used in IV though, maybe some other parts of the film will be referenced in V. Reservoir Dogs (1992) Jackie Brown (1997) Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998) The Sting (1973) The Italian Job (1969) The Getaway (1972) Swordfish (2001) A Fish Called Wanda (1988) Heist (2001) Ronin (1998) The Asphalt Jungle (1950) The Town (2010) Drive (2011) Ambush (1939) Rififi (1955) The Killing (1956) Seven Thieves (1960) The Big Snatch (1963) Topkapi (1964) Gambit (1966) Robbery (1967) The Thomas Crown Affair (1968) A Cop (1972) Charley Varrick (1973) The Brink's Job (1978) The First Great Train Robbery (1978) The Score (2001) Bank Shot (1974) Loophole (1981) Ocean's Eleven (2001) Ocean's Twelve (2004) Ocean's Thirteen (2007) Sexy Beast (2000) Inside Man (2006) Mission: Impossible (1996) The Man Inside (1958) Fun with Dick and Jane (1977) /edit - i'm adding these to the first post to makes things easier.

1 pointI'll believe that when I see it. That would mean that the city alone is 25 square miles. That's nearly twice as big as the entire map of San Andreas. The only way they can get that much land is if they're adding all of Los Angeles county including areas such as Santa Clarita and Pomoma. The urban center of Los Santos that they showed in the first trailer isn't going to be nearly that big. This is what Liberty City and Los Santos city would look like if the Bank Tower was next to the Chrysler Building - To get the same angle in the oil well picture, you'd have to place the camera farther north and pointed west. That would shrink the right side considerably. Poor Marcus got his hopes up for nothing. This^
