2 pointsI bet Trevor would eat the shit. We did see him howling at the moon, like a wolf. And since wolves are closely related to dogs... I'd say you're right, Trevor will indeed eat shit.

2 pointsThis is going to be a strange post for some...amongst the many forums that are discussing more interesting topics like car customization, story mission possibilities, and what players will be able to spend their millions on, here I am bringing up a bland topic like addresses. When I watch the GTA V trailers I watch them several times. I watch them over and over again in real time, finally slowing it down frame by frame, examining them like a series of still screenshots. Recently, I was going through the latest series of trailers and while watching Trevor's, there was a few details that jumped out at me: Notice the very large, visible address to the left there. Here's another one, again taken from Trevor's trailer: Even from a distance, the numbers of the address are very visible, noticeable from a few dozen (in-game) yards away. Remember the very first GTA V trailer and all of the different conspiracies that stemmed from it? I'm sure everybody remembers this scene: Remember how we all thought that the '2405' was going to be the release date? That it matched the exact release date for the album 'Ogden's Nut Gone Flake' by the Small Faces? How it's also (supposedly) Sam Houser's birthday? Including myself, I didn't think twice about the addresses having any kind of in-game significance. They were just cool details Rockstar included to make the game more realistic and believable. Well, one of the screenshots that Rockstar released May 2nd included this picture here: Again, this is the same picture, but zoomed in on a very interesting area: Notice where I made the marks. If you look to the right of Michael's head, you'll notice that it is a bird's eye perspective of a street, most likely the street where the jewelery store is located. To the top left is the name of the website that provided the bird's eye map. The screenshot only shows half of it, but the first part of the name is "Eye...". A little below that is what can only be the search engine. Now, the words within the search engine are very grainy and can only be guessed upon. The top part looks like "Los..." something, could be Los Santos. The second part, well I can only make out the first letter being a 'v' or a 'w'. Not too sure, but I have a theory of what it says... This screen is from Michael's Trailer: Notice the name? Here it is again, zoomed in: That says "Vang Elico" which is, of course, a jewelery store. Onto my point. GTA V will be such a sophisticated, in-depth game, that every building, every house, every convenient store, restaurant, bar, theater...etc. will have their own unique and individual address. I know what you're thinking. Big deal, so what, they have addresses...and? Well, not only addresses be unique and individual, but players will be able to use their iFruit phones, or in-game laptops, to search for individual addresses. Consider this quote, taken from the article by computerandvideogames.com: "Although Rockstar didn't want to go into too much detail, there were a total of nine apps on your cellphone display: camera, internet, contacts, social media, a calendar, and an option to go back and replay individual missions. That leaves three others it wasn't prepared to talk about. Well, actually, in truth it wasn't prepared to talk much about the other six either, but while camera, internet, contacts and social media all seem relatively self-explanatory, as does the replay mission option, why would you need a calendar? Our take: if you're planning super-dangerous, super-detailed heists, you're going to need to do prep work. We reckon the calendar will be used as part of the planning process, for reminders about meetings, addresses and times." If the internet is at the player's fingertips, why wouldn't we have the option of using GTA V's version of 'google maps'? Last, but not least, let's put this into perspective using an in-game example. I'm going to share my opinion of how this system of addresses will work. Relying on this theory, if each building has an individual address, player's will be able to do a search over the in-game internet and obtain more information about the address in question. For instance, if players search for the Vang Elico Jewelery store, players can get photos of the place, maybe the name of the store manager, what type of security system it uses, etc. I can imagine players getting a contract to kill a target, but players are just given a name, so players will have to do an in-game internet search, etc. etc. Maybe the locations of some story missions aren't as straight-forward? Perhaps an address, every now and again, will be up to the player to acquire. Then again, maybe it's just for decoration...

2 pointsKayaking could be really cool like whitewater stream with large drops, and fast currents etc. maybe a couple of spots on the map, or at least one with a river in the mountains etc.

2 pointsPeople have been talking about SF and LV being included as soon as they found out it was San Andreas. No shit. But i was talking about recent discussion above, since we've seen the new trailers, and read/watched the previews. People are again, starting to realise it is only LS and surrounding country (even though it was confirmed a very long time ago) and are trying to think of other ways for extra cities to be in the game, when it wont happen. There's people in this thread doing amazing analysis and have managed to construct a visually accurate (accurate being that they're using different techniques and finds, and still managing to get a similar outcome) map from images of the game, and there's no sign of any other city to date, so i don't expect we'll see much more... I'd be happy playing GTA V if it only contained what we've seen so far, and no more. The game already looks like it has enough to keep me playing for at least a couple of years.

1 pointAs Gunsmith pointed out, we don't have a dedicated Heist topic. Maybe that's because it fits into other topics, however it's a large part of the game so I think it deserves it's own topic. Anyway... What are your thoughts on how heists will be planned and executed? How the money will be divided etc... Discuss!

1 pointOn the bright side the fishing pole could be a miscellaneous weapon to grab. Doubt it would do much damage compared to a golf club, though.

1 pointThat is too much for me. There's no tyres at all, and it has got about 26'' or bigger set of wheels.

1 pointWell since the Ballas automatically shoot at the police but dont automatically shoot at you, I cant wait to stroll through their hood, find a group of them, then call the police to my location. (troll face)

1 pointYes I know exactly what you mean. I understand all words seperately, but the story isn't quite clear to me. Yes you have to be 18 to play GTAV and 18 to buy a playboy.... great insight.

1 pointI'll just wish they keep the car customization composed. Probably, it will be a bit like in Midnight Club LA, and I have seen a lot of ''creations'' like this. NOTHING like this to V please.
-
1 pointWOW. Goddam you got me thinking. Addresses would be such a usefull addition, and not to mention interesting. You are on to it son. I thouroughly enjoy reading your posts, keep it up man. Awesome

1 pointIt might be a customizable option to put a trailer hitch on a truck or SUV

1 pointWanting an instant fast travel system in a game like this is a terrifying new level of lazy.

1 pointAs an Eglishman, I'd love to see more classic British sports cars, e.g. TVR's, Jensen's and the like, to go with the Aston Martin DB5 look a like

1 pointI have a special hate fund dedicated to bronies and feminists. I'll never understand why people need to sympathize with main characters, if I'm about to read a book that goes over medieval pillaging, i damn well expect rape and general mischieving to happen, antiheroes are proper cool. Joe Abercrombie pulls it off very well on the First Law trilogy, the main character (Ninefingers) turns from general friendly guy to psychotic killer who has no issues smashing children in the face with a battle axe, and yet, I was left rooting for the guy - the most badass character I've encountered in literature.

1 pointMillion pounds? I should think it wouldn't be able to zip down highways with a weight like that.

1 pointFinally, one new member who actually contributes usefully. Welcome to the forums, pal.

1 pointI was prepared to blow you off at first, but you make a compelling argument. I suppose something like this is possible. Maybe one of the planning stages is gaining intel. You can choose how you are going to do it, take photos, stake out places and look up areal photos on the internet. perhaps what we choose to do or not do will effect the actual outcome.

1 pointExterior security cameras, potential entrances/exits, proximity to police stations, etc. may be useful information obtainable from EyeFind. ALSO: This means that each street will be named, as in GTA IV.

1 pointI'm looking forward to using Trevor's truck to exact my revenge against the cougars that always killed my horse in RDR.
-
1 pointPoint lookout huh, thanks bones. I'm now at a point where I don't know what to do, as I set my character out as vengeful towards the people who tried to kill him. Now that I've massacred the Khans at Bitter Springs and crucified Benny, I don't know what to do. I've also just killed House, and I destroyed the bots under Caesar's camp. I don't want Vegas for myself, nor do I want either NCR or Legion to gain control. Why can't there be a full blown war and see where the chips land hey! I'll probably go with the Legion, haven't actually done that ending before, plus I hate the NCR, they think money can buy everything. If only there was a Brotherhood ending. . . .

1 pointRims, paint, body kits, spoilers, accessories, lift kits, suspension for off-roading, led lighting (headlights, tails, underbody), chrome pieces...

1 pointI am guessing that it will not be that simple. one thing I noticed was that the skill of the people you hire will increase the more you use them. so it may be better for you to keep them around for another mission where they can get you even more cash. I think it will be used for when you want to upgrade your car. like maybe you can only do so much until you increase your skill. they did say there will be hunting, but it is probably just not as in depth as it was in RDR. the 90 minute review on CVG has a lot of little tidbits that I didnt really see anywhere else. I suggest watching it if you have not already.

1 pointWasn't Grove Street just a set of a larger gang? So Franklin and his homiez might just be in another set.

1 pointThe bottom is based on the render of the new "Super Veyron" and the top is a Mercedes SLS Roadster, with Jaguar F-Type headlights. Any car questions, even though I am a noob to the forum (previously a lurker) just ask. Also, this is very definitely a Mitsubishi Eclipse. Apologies for spamming the thread, but wasn't this one a TBoGT only car previously?

1 pointI personally love taking it slow between missions, a lot of role playing, driving slow yet always finding myself getting into trouble. For me it is more rewarding to discover the city and learn it's layout. I also like the public transportation as it doesn't break my immersion as much.
-
1 pointI don't like fast travel, not in GTA anyway. I'm happy with calling someone from Franklin's repo company to drop me off any vehicle i want though, and riding that to where ever i want to go...
