4 pointsSo I know this site has some mixed feeling about CVG and GTA 5 O'Clock, but I thought this was worth posting. They give you the actual interview audio (so it's not just CVG making things up) and there are a few interesting points in there. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vBpTePVmdmg Some points I picked up on: Bullet proofing tires and roll bars will be available options for customization Confirmed car impound (if your car disappears you can pay a fee to get it back) Gas (petrol) trails that can be ignited to blow up cars You keep your guns throughout the entire game, you do not lose them. Free flowing fight system – more dynamic. No lock on required Melee plays is more useful in big fights Different enemy’s fight differently and use different tactics. Hint at more destructible environments Shooting stat will effect ammo capacity, reload speed, gun recoil, accuracy, combat movement

3 pointsi've always loved GTAIV's driving, you can go all the way back to the old boards with that one (way before your time i'm sure)... when they said they tweaked the mechanics and made it more like racing, i cringed... and it was evident in the gameplay video that it will feel more like a racing game when driving... it's just one of those things that, personally, you wished they didn't mess with, but in the end you'll get used to it and forget all about it... i can complain all i want, but until i actually play it, i have no clue how it's going to be...

2 pointsI don't mind interviews from CVG. It's their videos rehashing crap and making things up (plus swiping that fan map) that is in bad taste.

2 pointsFranklin's ability will be the difference between making that sharp turn or flipping your car and having to bail out while N.O.O.S.E. is unloading assault rifles into your ass. If V's car handling is anything like IV's, I'll take whatever I can get to prevent the latter from happening.

2 pointsHello everyone! first time commenter, long time reader. First I'd like to add a landmark I think has been over looked. From the new gameplay video screencaps: This is Los Angeles County Lifeguard Headquarters on Venice Beach. I couldn't find it but I believe someone posted a unofficial image of a side view a while back, I dont think much was said about it but I'll keep looking. There is also a Santa Monica HQ just south of the Pier. I'm not positive but I think you can make it out in the screenshot of the dodo flying over the beach. Also curious about this screencap: Is it just me or does this look like some sort of structure at the top of the mountain? Found a side view:

2 pointsYeah, can't beat the realism of stepping into a two-dimensional outline of a house and watching $40,000 being deducted from your bank account, while a funky beat plays from thin air.

2 pointswhen they said they paid a ton of attention to minigames and such, i didn't expect to see this... such attention to detail with the wind meter... i wonder if that wind pattern carries over with any sniper rifle, or just with hunting?

2 pointsfirst off, i know it´s off-topic n shit but hear me out. i really don´t get it. with every new trailer r* releases it´s the same thing. it doesn´t take long until the first guys start bitchin about graphics, map size, customisation or whatsoever. now it´s the driving mechanics. r* said that they will improve driving mechanics, so i bet they will have done that. i will sacrifice my left ball if r* releases the game on sept. 17th an say "oops, sorry. we totally forgot about that ...". none of us has played a single second of the game. why can´t we just wait until it´s released, see how it feels and complain afterwards if it´s so important? and finally (and that´s just my opinion). even if the driving is still a little bit floaty i won´t give a single fuck about that. that´s not what the game is all about. you want more realistic driving? go play gran turismo! keep in mind, the main reason why we are all members of this forum is that we are fans of the gta series! the game will support us with endless hours of fun and tons of stuff to do and to explore. from what we have seen by now i think it´s safe to say that if somebody will be disappointed by it, then sorry man but you are just unsatisfiable. i bet that on sept. 17th every single one of us will sit in front of their PS3/xbox360 with the biggest grin on their faces like a little boy on xmas eve (and most likely with a wet crotch too) wandering around in LS, overwhelmed by it´s pure awesomeness and one little flaw (whatever it might be) will no longer matter. ... and yes, i´m sorry for all the complaining but i just couln´t hold it back anymore.

1 pointSo with the assumption of dogs and multiple rumors that circulated, would you like to see more realistic cops? This includes K-9, battering rams, and being more intelligent over all Sure K-9 would be cool but I don't want a too realistic police AI, and although the cops in GTA 4 were retarded as hell, it was good enough for me

1 pointI don't think that's going to really be a problem. first, of all you can replay missions so I assume you can also get the rewards multiple times. second, there will probably be several flows of income by the end of the game. if you can buy business I am sure you can get an income from those after meeting some requirements. Finally, I do not think the prices I have seen are all that unrealistic. $350 for a designer jacket in CA is not that unrealistic.

1 pointIt's growing on me i'll admit. I'm still not sure about release day though, i'll still be caked in GTA V-related creamy goodness at the end of October, probably fused to my bed by that time...

1 pointI got the impression that once a firearm is picked up, it can't be lost through any means, even if you want to. There's something mildly empowering about achieving six five stars after working your way up the weaponry ladder from bare fists.

1 pointI understand a lot of debate about GTAV but I don't understand the fascination with cheats in a massive game that has yet to be released and will be awesome without them.

1 pointi liked the $250,000 money cheat in GTA SA. it was awesome. i had over $500,000,000 by the time i started the missions. haha.
-
1 pointlooking really awesome. I just hope that it takes a lot of time and effort to get those 250.000 bucks. It has to be something to be proud of!
-
1 pointThat's probably one of the dumbest things I've heard. Why in the world would this game be based on gang activity because San Andreas was? And did you even watch the video? There's a lot more to do than 'just robbing places'. Besides, that will be one of the best parts as you have to plan it yourself.

1 pointDid anyone notice the Time Dilation/ Slow-Down when Franklin brought up the weapon wheel at 03:14 in the video. Should make changing weapons on the fly in mid-combat a little bit easier. Overall the combat looked a lot more fluid, smoothly blind firing from cover and transitioning very fast into the combat jog picking off targets along the way. Then changing weapons in the blink of an eye ( from the enemies perspective ), to continue taking out targets with a different weapon more suitable for distant targets ( going from the pistol to the carbine assault rifle ). If you couple the Weapon-Wheel Slow-Down effect, with Michaels Bullet-Time ability. Michael could almost permanently be able to slow down time and remain untouchable. ^^ ^^ ^^ ^^ ^^ ^^ ^^ Also wouldn't it be cool if you could influence the Stock Market. Like say going into one of the Clothing Department Stores and shooting all the customers and staff. The massacre is then on the next News Bulletin, and the Stock in the company takes a big nose dive. After which you decide to capitalize on the misfortune by buying as much stock in the company as you can afford. Then you go back to the store a week later and buy a ton of hats, shirts, pants, watches and chains, worth thousands of dollars to boost the company's share price back up. And once the shares have more then doubled their original price, you sell all your stock in the company, and double or perhaps even triple your money...

1 pointI saw someone say tank based on a screen cap. Fun times ahead.
-
1 pointThis may not necessarily mean that the wind meter is unavailable outside of hunting. Could just be a different type of rifle or a fancy-ass customization.
-
1 pointI doubt they'd put a good game into a crap one, that'd be like putting Fallout into a Wolfenstein game. I meant that rockstar could end up putting their own spin on versions of different game genres into a GTA game. They've already got Tiger woods, Virtual Tennis, and Tour da France, sorted.

1 pointAccording to GI, modifications include body kits, paint jobs/finishes, wheels, exhaust tips, window tints, tire smoke color, bull-bars, extra lights, brakes, engine tuning, suspension, horns, bulletproof tires, panel armor and many extra accessories. http://www.gameinformer.com/games/grand_theft_auto_v/b/xbox360/archive/2013/07/09/grand-theft-auto-v-customization.aspx

1 pointI'm busy. :-/ Just stopping in to make sure you asswipes aren't wrecking the place. There isn't a whole lot new. Obviously some new views of the countryside. When OPx finishes combing through screencaps I'll point them all out for you. Scenes: 1. Vespucci Canals (almost same view as first trailer) 2. Downtown (duh) 3.Somewhere in the ocean 4. Trailer park is that little piece sticking out into the lake that we saw ages ago - rail bridge is back-right 5. Reservoir/dam (duh) 6. Trevor on the West Coast - I believe the arch bridge is the northern river coming from the lake 7. Downtown again - note the building with the mural ads is the one R* uses in real life 8. Vespucci Canals again 9. Obviously the biggest mountain in the game - screenshot of the plane following the car chase was taken near the bottom of the screen 10. Rockford Hills - Just south of the 1st trailer's BugStars Heist, Franklin on the green Sanchez was off toward the left (can't see the church) 11. The area seen in yellow cropduster screenshot south of the lake 12. Downtown under one of the freeways 13. I think the deer are on the east coast out past the farms (Grapeseed) 14. Vespucci Beach - you are looking at the beach front park center-right 15. Northern river from the lake on the west end 16. Same river showing the rail bridge 17. Vinewood with the characters from the previews 18. Downtown 19. Vespucci/Santa Maria(?) I'm pretty sure is where Franklin's Boss is ... and that's the intro 50 seconds.

1 pointMy worst qualities are what makes me likeable. If I weren't such a terrible person, I'd just be a regular guy and no one would give a shit about me. I'm glad to pass on the worst I have to offer.

1 point*Ejaculates everywhere* HRRRGGHH MOTHERFUCKING YES. MUST BUY NOW. NOW. *Repeatedly tries to shove handful of cash into monitor* Day one purchase, no exceptions. Collector's Edition? I'll buy it. All stores are sold out? I will kill anyone to get a copy.
-
1 pointThis is the thing, I can understand police with body armor, maybe a little stronger protection, but I don't want to be down with tear gas and riot gear, it's too realistic and would take away from the fun of fucking around with cops for me.
-
1 pointdude, no way would i want realistic cops... maybe a little smarter, and i would like your sneak ability to play more of a role, like hiding behind dumpsters or driving past one in a different car unnoticed... but more realistic cops?? think about it, how many people get away from the police in real life?? yea, talk about struggling to get away from a simple grand theft auto...

1 pointDepends where the force is used. I mean, I don't want to get shot to death for resisting arrest.
