13 pointsSo i finally managed to (fairly) accurately map the Alamo Sea today, using a flatten perspective trick. *adds to map*

3 pointsSomeone pointed out earlier that the sound cone was too small, considering that the source of the sound was a gunshot. But, since the gunfight is taking place in a heavily wooded area, in the middle of a lumber mill, which happens to be the scene of a gang-fueled gunfight...There's plenty of reasons for the shots to be drowned out or dampened. So, to me, this hints towards environmental sounds affecting the audible range of gunshots and (potentially) other sounds, as well.

3 pointsWhat I am really looking forward to GTA 5, is the extra activities that you can do. What really surprised me when I was watching the gameplay was, the hunting. I found that very interesting, but what I am really hoping for in GTA 5, is if they add hunting, maybe they could add fishing as well. I'm not sure if a lot of people would like that, but I know that I would get a thrill out of it.

2 pointsLots of gun stores... I wonder what the white icon in the middle represents.
-
2 pointsIndeed. So glad they decided to green light the move here. Cut shipping prices down a shitload.

2 pointsI've pinpointed the multiplayer pad/safehouse on the map. After seeing all the satellite views and the size of the roads, and buildings, we must come to an agreement that LS is a lot bigger than a lot of people thought. Some of us have been saying for ages, that it's going to be a lot bigger when you're down inside it than it does from a hill where everything looks micro...

1 point---- so, i know i am not the only one here excited about this game... it's being developed by avalanche studios, creators of the just cause series, which is an underrated game IMO, and should be played at least once if you like open world games... and picturing that vast open world with post-apocalyptic overtones could make this the early sleeper hit of 2014... all CGI i know, and it's not like just cause 2 was a super sharp looking game either, but taking in the scope of the world brought out it's majestic beauty... i can only imagine this world looking as magnificent when taken in all at once as well... ----- gasoline is the main focus of this post-apocalyptic world in case you were wondering... cars rule the open roads of the wasteland, and gangs, rebels, and loners like mad max, own the pavement... there's always a fight for more gasoline and bullets... the movies took place in the badlands of australia, and the characters all had australian accents... but the game actually has a guy with an american accent (so far) but still has the desert-like setting... no one is still sure about the direction of the world, but it has been said on record that it only takes place in the same world as the movie... i am not one for trying to duplicate the past as it usually ruins the original... so i am all for a intepreted remake, and if you didn't know, there is a remake in hollywood already filming that's due out next year... hmm... http://www.imdb.com/...ref_=fn_al_tt_6 here's an ok machinima interview explaining the game, not a demo as the link indicates...

1 pointI was just thinking. If the game is set only in Los Santos, which is pretty much confirmed now. Will it be bigger than San Andreas in terms of actual map size? I realize San Andreas covered three cities and surrounding countryside, but everything was shrunk down and the cities were far smaller than any real city. GTA V clearly looks much richer in detail and bigger looking from what we have seen of it so far. But will it actually be bigger than San Andreas, or ever Red Dead?, since Rockstar have mentioned it is the largest and most ambitious game yet in their latest statement. Might as well start discussing it, but don't moan that the game is going to suck because it's not going to be San Andreas, that's not the point of this thread. Personally I hope it is bigger. And i hope to see loads of small country towns sprawled out over the countrysides, full of interesting characters to do side missions for and what not. /edit Here is some of the hard work put in by members on this forum: 'Fitty's Map (Final): DuPz' map (Final): Banana Pudding's map: Los Santos Blueprints: Image from an achievement/trophy icon: Brady Games Map:

1 pointI fancy myself a huge Mad Max fan--to the point where my friend and I are working to engineer an electronically controlled, toggle-able supercharger, like the Interceptor. Needless to say, I haven't stopped ejaculating since announcement. It's kinda a problem. I'm getting dehydrated.

1 pointIt's just like the old GTA's, the White Icon means that you 'Own' the property, and the Black Icon means it's still 'For Sale'.

1 pointHow I get military hardware: Fuck shit up get 5 stars loot dead bodies

1 pointThat's the Los Santos Gun Club in the Downtown area, so I assume it is a "gun store with a shooting range" icon and the others are just small gun shops or illicit dealers.

1 pointSomebody hand this guy^^ a tampon... And roll cages as a option! Hopefully this will mean cars without have the capability of the roof caving in!?

1 pointHey Cy, what's a beanie in your neck of the woods? To me, you're all wearing toques, and a beanie is this:

1 pointWell woodchips/ sawdust can mask the smell of various drug labs such as methamphetamine labs. So maybe they've got a drug operation going on there. Mexican Drug Cartels have used a similar setup at factories to mask the smell of their Meth Laboratories. *Edit ~ Or it could just be a Drug/ Arms Deal that Franklin has dropped in on to fuck up the Ballas day... You have definitely been watching Breaking Bad.

1 pointMaybe in the wildcat, but not outside of that. He is not a QB, just a running back/ wide receiver with an ability to somewhat throw the football.

1 pointI don't think that's entirely true. Rockstar has said the switching cuts through downtime on and off mission. So you may miss out on a few more enemies but the most action is where they recommend (or force) a switch.
-
1 pointI believe so since they are shown on the right-hand character wheel. From what I gather they are active doing something else for this mission so you are able to switch to them. We saw in the helicopter Brad-napping (and previews for it) that if they are flashing that is a hint to switch to them. That means it will require at least 3 playthroughs to get the full experience out of the missions.

1 pointI think someone that has had bad experiences with getting a decent cell phone signal built a house there and is now living in it.

1 pointWeapon mods like you said could be something I'd like to see, like for example you have a pistol that is powerful but has no accuracy, you could walk into and buy a scope or sight for it, and the better the upgrade, the better the stat increase.
-
1 pointGod damn it, Roman, I turned off my phone so I wouldn't have to talk to you, and you show up on the forums? I'm not going bowling with you, get the fuck out.

1 pointMy take on this, R* are saying it's their "biggest" project to date. So bigger than SA, RDR, GTA IV and L.A. Noire. However that just applies to the map, not the city. The city I think will probably be slighty smaller or at least feel smaller than IV. Liberty City was more of a compacted vertical mass of buildings much like New York is (duh,) whereas Los Santos/LA is more of a sprawling low-rise city. So the city may be bigger in terms of area covered, but not in density. Then we have to add the surrounding coutryside which I think should be around three times as large as the city, at least that's what would feel natural to me. We don't know about other cities yet but I would expect one or two backwater towns at the least. I mentioned elsewhere that if we took L.A. Noire's map, condensed it so it's half the size (R* never fully recreate cities to their full size in GTA games) and plonked it in the middle of RDR's wilderness we might have a good idea of what to expect.
