I put together a Google Maps overlay to show the estimated scale of Los Santos/San Andreas to real-world LA. The link will take you to a view of the map on my website that you can zoom, pan, etc. If you take a look at satellite view, you can eyeball objects on the ground and see that the scale matches up pretty well. This would probably be most interesting to someone that has a basic familiarity with LA (I do not). For the rest of us, it still demonstrates the scale of what we've seen so far. The bounding rectangle in the image is about 6.21 square miles. And of course, this is only part of the map - someone smarter than me can speculate on exactly what percentage it represents. Long-winded and very boring explanation of my methodology:

Grand Theft Auto V will be out September 17. You will all be eager to share stories, mission details, plot points, etc., but many people here will not be playing at the same pace that you play at, and will not yet have experienced these things for themselves. When this screenshot first popped up, i mentioned that i thought there was some sort of off-road mountain valley between these two mountains, but i obviously had no proof from that angle, it just kind of looked like it had open space between. Now we can see from this top-down angle, that there is in fact a valley road there. I wonder if this winds up the left mountain, which could be the possible location of our trailer one hike...?

This is the only watchable show(besides Top Gear) broadcast from Britain today. Hosted by the legend that is Stephen Fry. This is a comedy panel show. The questions are nigh impossible to get right, so points are rewarded for giving interesting and funny answers, and points are deducted for being obvious. The general ignorance round is a personal favourite, supposedly easy questions are asked...but the obvious answer is usually wrong, it plays on common misconceptions. Who was the first president of the United States? For example. And features some of the most likeable comedians and personalitys in the UK: Bill Bailey, David Mitchell, Victoria Coren, Phil Jupitus, Jeremey Clarkson(arguably), Alan Davies, Prof. Brian Cox, Jack Dee etc. Tis a funny show and you learn all sorts of weird shit...A dolphin has a "S" shaped penis A few titbits. I consider myself a red-blooded heterosexual male, but...I would suck Stephen Fry so hard. Man-crush

The last project hit some technical problems, so i shelved it for now. It's always there if i want to go back to it though. I've now dedicated a big portion of my free time to a new project which will make it onto my portfolio reel. It's a little in-game scene of a local favela in Rio called Santa Marta. I'm planning on focusing my efforts on all the small details, like the odd things laying around the street, the washing haning over the walls and flapping in the wind, the water leaks from the rusty pipe work, and so on. Here's a sample of what i've started, i hope you guys can give me pointers along the way. I'm setting myself a deadline for end of September. Hopefully it'll be done before that because of obvious reasons.

Every episode is available on Youtube if you're really keen Each series is based on a letter from the alphabet, series 1 for instance focues on "a" subjects: arts, atoms etc. You can imagine where it goes from there.

I adore Stephen Fry. Everything he does is witty, intelligent and hilarious, this show looks like fun.

nothing wrong with that. if youre a hardcore san andreas fan, you had good reason to be pissed off when gta iv came out. i thought iv sucked but yeah i wouldnt post something like this. although i agree with most of it, i would present the points in a reasonable manner. If you thought IV sucked. Just stop playing the GTA'S because you arn't gonna like them from here on out. no, the series can still redeem itself. so long as rockstar stop implementing stupid things like bowling with roman and only make totally awesome things. What do you mean "the series can redeem itself" the series is better then ever. what do you want GTA to become another Saints Row? Im getting tired of you San Andreas fanboys. All SA had was a bigger map and more things to do. GTA IV had better graphics, physics, story, Shooting and COVER SYSTEM. San Andreas was the third game for the last generation of consoles so they had experiance with it. GTA IV was Rockstars first attempt with the next gen consoles besides table tennis. So dont be a tard and use your brain. GTA IV did not suck and if you think it did you are not old enough to play GTA.

I'll probably go looking around as soon as i can. Hopefully steal a bike like the old days in SA and just cycle around the hood for abit exploring and getting use to the map. Then go back and start the missions.
