13 pointsI thought i'd share this vista, with you guys. That ground fog in the background looks awesome imo.

7 points@blacksox I'm going with your second statement. That's what I beleive will happen. Even if there is no timeline, the snow could still affect some areas of the map during the weather cycle. Looking at the map, it is clear that the areas have certain chances of snow, where others do not. Here's a rough temperature map i just put together. Snow is more than likely to full only in the northern part of the map.
-
6 pointsI can guarantee 100% that there will not be snow in Los Santos. My best guess is that if there is snow (which HAS been teased, as we know), that it'll be in one isolated area (like RDR). If I'm wrong about snow in LS, I will buy Dup a commemorative mug with my face on it, looking upset.

2 pointsThe topic to talk about the iGTA FFL, which just drafted today. So let's get started. In my opinion, I think I drafted pretty fucking good for the last overall pick. Here are the draft grades, projected record, and draft position according to Yahoo: Tonowanda Kardex (MrMister)- B+, 13-1, 1* The Qs (Qdeathstar)- B, 8-6, 5* Bones' Team (self explanatory)- B, 8-6, 4 Alpha's Team (Gunsmith?)- B, 10-4, 3* The Rams (rm80rams)- B-, 7-7, 8 Black and Whites (Brian)- C+, 6-8, 2** Los Ostrichos (Ostrich Boy)- C-, 3-11, 7 Ginger Bosax (Ginginho)- D, 1-13, 6* *= Autodraft **= Partial autodraft As you see, justice has not been served. The top 3 picks were on at least partial auto draft and the last wasn't , not to mention 3 of the top 4 projected records. Anyways, that's the overview of the iGTA FFL. Oh, and one last thing, The Rams will finish 13-1 and win the league in the regular season and playoffs. Not even bullshitting you.

2 pointsI'm split between the Gameplay trailer and Franklin's trailer. Everyone I talk about GTA V to and most people online seem to dislike Franklin's the most, but I loved it. Probably because it was very action filled (shooting, police chases) and it reminded me of the good old days of GTA San Andreas.
-
2 pointsTrailer one for me. The Faces' song really tied it together -- it had the summery vibe that is the essence of So-Cal. Those opening modulated piano chords set to the backdrop of the LS skyline at twilight was incredible. Michael's infamous soliloquy over those chords will always bring back the initial feelings of hype and awe that we all felt. The sequence of events building up to the song's climax was so well-coordinated, too. God, what an incredible trailer. To think that it was almost two years ago...

2 points^^^Ohhhhh.... Should've read the post... Anyway, my guess (along with a lot of other people) is that Michael and Trevor are going to have a falling out at some point during the game, as suggested by the trailers. Maybe this will happen toward the end of the game, leading to a standoff for the final act? I'm kinda hoping that we get to pick our favourite character to side with during the dispute, and maybe the other character will become unavailable while they battle it out...

2 pointsThere is no advantage to being a gold member. You are stupid for making a continued effort to become one. It is an immense waste of time.

1 pointIf they gave SR 4 a motherfucking undeserved ten, then you know GTA V is going to top it.

1 pointWell I'm thinking "North Yankton" is definitely part of the map seeing as how it's in the postcard, so obviously it has already been designed.. Which would also rule out the theory of it being an addition to the map on down the line if I'm correct.. I'm also wondering how long the story's timeline will take place.. That's never really been present in any GTA that I can think of.. Maybe if R* someway or another have structured the story over a couple years time, then the "seasonal weather system" could be introduced. Then when the game is finished, the weather system would become more dynamic and change seasons on it's own (without certain missions triggering them.)

1 pointWell "Yank" is a British/ Aussie slang term for Americans ( and most of Rockstar's Founder's/ Dev's are from Scotland ), so it makes sense that they would put this pejorative term in a GTA town's name. The slang term "Yank" is often associated with stereotypes of Americans being Fat/ Stupid people who all drive hummers and vote Republican ( and can't find any country but their own on a map ). Plus it also helps that it has a vague reference to a real world place with a lot of snow, in the US. My guess is that GTA V's "North Yankton" will be full of upper-class snob NPC's with big expensive cars, and expensive clothing/jewellery ( Satirising upper-class Ski-Resort Towns ). The NPC's will probably react to Trevor and Franklin with Disdain, but will accept Michael as one of their own ( plus beating them up/ robbing them will almost definitely result in a larger cash drop than normal NPC's )...
-
1 pointOf course, it certainly won't snow at LSX. What I was alluding to was the possibility that those northern areas that Dup highlighted could snow on a regulated cycle that is either independent of the story or kicks in after the story ends. When there is no snow on the caps, the southern/desert areas would be hotter increasing fatigue and so on. I stick by my RDR-style theory as BlackSox suggested but if Dup is correct then this game will reach a whole new level, not so much for the has-it-been-done-before aspect but the what-can-be-done-with-it aspect (ski slopes, fatigue in summer, slushy dirt tracks during/after rain, potential for flooding, etc.).
-
1 pointIf they did go down this path (as awesome as it would be) I would think that one of two things would happen. Either: - The weather happens outside of the storyline and keeps ticking over like regular seasons. Your missions occur regardless of weather and changes in difficulty (and fun) as the weather changes. The 'weather clock' would keep ticking over regardless of whether you've finished the game or not; or - The weather will stay somewhat 'scheduled' through the duration of the story mode and flick over to a 'weather clock' once story mode is finished. It would be strange if this was how they tackled seasons.

1 pointI really like the latest trailer. just because it feels like a movie trailer, and I like the blurring of lines between a cinema release and a game.
-
1 pointSo what trailer is your favorite (everyone)? Mine was probably trailer 2. I loved the vibe it gave out. Maybe the classic choice, but i'm pretty classic.I think it felt more like a Micheal trailer imo... I loved the rest, but that was the one for me.

1 pointI reckon snow could be a part of GTA V in one of 3 different ways. 1) - ( the most likely ) It's only in one isolated area of the map ( like Pothatuu said ). 2) - ( only semi-likely ) If the events in the story happen over a timeline, there could be a weather cycle that blankets different portions of the map in snow ( during the winter timelines ). 3) - ( unlikely ) Maybe snow is part of one of the new areas that will be made for GTA Online ( because Rockstar said that they would be adding content over time/ possibly introducing new portions to GTA V's map/ adding to either the main land or maybe creating other islands off the coast ). Remember the place that has snow ( "North Yankton" ) in the Brochure has a real world equivalent in South Dakota ( or it could be based off of Aspen/ or another Ski Resort Town ). So maybe this is pointing to a bigger GTA Online in the future covering more of the US with fictional cities and towns based on real world places. It would be cool if all of the locations were connected too one another as well ( and made into one "Giant Game World"/ it might be possible with Next-Gen Hardware??? ). ^^Where's the Snowy area of GTA V's map seen in this postcard?^^ ( We haven't seen any snow in the Screens or Videos, and it hasn't been mentioned in any of the Previews or Interviews/ So where is this "North Yankton"? ) The "GTA Online Map" could end up stretching North up to San Fierro ( San Francisco ), and East to Las Venturas ( Las Vegas/ plus R* could legitimately add Area 51 ( "69" ) since it's in Nevada as well ) and maybe even add another City & Town further East like Salt Lake City and Aspen ( Aspen is marked "A" on the map ), too add some more variety to the terrain with some snowy areas ( plus it would be interesting if they added a Yellowstone like National park in the north/ due to the diversity of it's wilderness ).

1 pointI'm not reading any reviews of GTA V, not before or after the game comes out. I feel like I know enough about this game now, I don't need to know more. I just want to experience as much as I can by myself. I'm not saying that I'm not watching a trailer if they release another one or screenshots or what ever.
-
1 pointI agree that I don't think that any of the characters will be killed off as that will affect gameplay post-story. ie. kill off Franklin after all the hard work you've done to build him up and buy him things and then he dies. I can't see it happening. I do like the idea though of a major conflict and I think it'll happen, especially involving Michael. I get the impression he'll be pulled from pillar to post by Franklin, Trevor, the FIB and his family while Franklin will be sucked into the good life and Trevor will be in it for the kicks.
-
1 pointI'll end up reading a few when they come out, but it'll just be to pass the time until the actual game comes out.
-
1 pointwhy does everyone care so much about reviews? if you are getting the game on release date why would it matter when reviews are coming out? anyone of you really going to not get the game because of a bad review?

1 pointWay to troll. Or is it flame? I was given my gold membership. I never go into those forums though, despite being a forum with no rules, it almost never requires moderation.

1 pointYep. There seems to be a few more likenesses to Br Ba. Not necessarily references, but I can see influences and similarities for sure. Meth, the family issues, younger man/older man relationships, etc. The show has been going on for years during the development of GTA V, you know the devs were fans. I forgot that I found Id Software's tribute easter egg in RAG3 before I ever even saw/became obsessed with Br Ba. Turns out that Vince Gilligan scripted Jesse playing RAG3 *first*, then after the show featured the light gun and fight scene where the game gets knocked off the shelf, Id threw in the grill easter egg as a return tribute and nod to him, for his free advertising. (So many responses like "What is that game Jesse is playing? It looks awesome!") I would not be surprised at all to see more drama-based (not easter eggs) similarities to Br Ba in GTA V. And yes, like Heisenburg's wife, I already hope to kill Michael's wife....

1 pointIV was released over five years ago, so reviewers will expect five years of progress. The real question is though, who gives a fuck? I don't think there's a gamer alive who wouldn't buy GTA V because somebody gave it a bad review.

1 pointI started replaying the PC version tonight, figured I'd post, I should have more to follow. I'm working on updating most of my mods. Will answer any questions about what mods I'm using. EDIT: After updating some of my mods, not as many as I expected I figured I'd take screenshots as I played.

1 point[January 30th, 2013, 10pm] Rockstar North Dev #1: Well, that's another late night wrapped up. I hate keeping the guys here so late, but it's been worth it - just two months until release! Rockstar North Dev #2: Yep, we're in the home stretch. Let's take another look at the checklist. [The two look over the checklist of features in the game] Dev #1: Got it, got it, got it... Dev #2: ... wait a minute. Dev #1: What? Dev #2: Here at the bottom of the page. It says "Page 1 of 2." Dev #1: [suddenly wearing reflective sunglasses and a state trooper hat] Mother of God. [The pair frantically rifles through several piles of paper of varying height looking for page 2. Desks and chairs are overturned, cubicles are dismantled, and computers are thrown through windows amidst the chaos] Dev #1: I found it! Dev #2: What's it say?! [Dev #1 looks at the paper, and finds only one item printed on it] Dev #1: [stunned] It says... it says... Dev #2: What? It says what? Dev #1: M-m-m... M-multiplayer. [Dev #2's jaw drops to the floor with a heavy thump] Dev #1: We forgot the multiplayer... [Dev #2 picks up his jaw] Dev #1: We forgot the fucking multiplayer! What the fuck are we going to do?! [Dev #2 forcefully slaps Dev #1] Dev #2: Pull yourself together man! Dev #1: What do we do?! [Dev #2 slaps Dev #1 again, for no apparent reason] Dev #2: Calm down. We can fix this. We can fix this... [The next morning] Dear all, Today, we have an official release date to share with you: Grand Theft Auto V will arrive in stores on September 17, 2013. We know this is about four months later than originally planned and we know that this short delay will come as a disappointment to many of you, but, trust us, it will be worth the extra time. GTAV is a massively ambitious and complex game and it simply needs a little more polish to be of the standard we and, more importantly, you require. To all Grand Theft Auto fans, please accept our apologies for the delay, and our promise that the entire team here is working very hard to make the game all it can be. We are doing all we can to help ensure it will meet if not exceed your expectations come September – we thank you for your support and patience. Yours, The GTA Team [Fin] ------------------------------------ Seriously though, you're reading too much into it. GTA V certainly has multiplayer, they've mentioned it a couple times. They wouldn't have bothered with crews if the feature were only going to be used for Max Payne 3. Rest assured, all is well.

1 pointGin, rum, tequila, vodka, and triple sec all mixed together with some coke and sweet n sour. AKA Long Island iced tea.

1 pointbeer/ale and vodka... i love a good beer, preferably a microbrew... pale ales are my beer of choice, india pale ales and american pale ales to be exact... but vodka is probably what i drink the most... vodka tonics, bloody marys, screwdrivers, white russians, etc... you can mix vodka with just about anything... and since i make mixed drinks, i buy the cheap ass vodka since it doesn't make a difference if you're mixing... $6/5th...
