I'm surprised this discussion is still going. If you don't like driving then don't drive. You could walk, run, ride, fly, sail or jet ski. It's a brilliant game and many of the issues have been addressed from IV.

As a retired truck driver, 18 wheelers, I've been just about everywhere in Canada and the USA. Los Santos looks exactly like SoCal (LA area) so I thought It would be fun to try out a big rig. I knew that you could drive around in the truck tractor, but in GTA 4 I tried hooking to a trailer an it wouldn't hook. In GTA 5 I tried it again... hooking up to a trailer is no problem. Somewhere on the north eastern coast of Los Santos I grabbed a rig and headed south on the freeway, a little twitchy in the steering department, but otherwise an interesting and slightly realistic experience

best one is the fucking dog mission with chop where you chase the guy through the railyard. dog starts humping shit and then bites a guy

finally got this to work i was happy to find this, quickly nicked it and shoved it into the house garage used this to get the acheivment for modding a car, spent about 75K on it, and will be pimping it out more as parts unlock, love this car, so much fun to drive

I think the pause screen takes longer than it should to open up 1-2 seconds feels like an eternity when trying to enter in waypoints

90% of the stores won't open up until the game tells you about it (via missions). For example there's a mission that requires you to dress up as someone to complete it and afterwards all of the clothing stores will be open for you.

I saw that on the IGN Wiki, it seems you can change charecters and do it again... and again. Thanx, the part I didn't realise was that there was a secondary menu besides buying the gun. I thought you had to buy a gun to get ammo which didn't make sense since I already had one.

i know a place where there is a suitcase with 12k in it but first you have to get lung compasitey up to at least 80/100 before you get it second the option to buy ammo for a gun avalibel at the gun store........ ill detail tell you first you have a gun then you click on the upgrades when this menu pops up there at the top will be something that says 20xrounds (number differs for gun) and this is the ammo to buy for the gun theirs also a button the y or x is the one to change it from 20xrounds to full ammo which cost more but is useful. and then watch this video and don't for get to pause the video at the beginning to see where on the left top of the map you need to go

^^THIS. I've tried every conceivable combination of settings and can't get the volume leveled out. Dialogue is insanely loud. In-game movies and TV are damn near silent. I'm constantly messing with the volume on my AV receiver. At first I thought my home theater setup was jacked up, but every other game I've played (mostly R* titles) sound terrific. What gives?

I've seen some targeting other people on the streets but as for patrolling I'd agree, there's not many about. But I would say that's probably more realistic. I've followed a couple of patrol cars that whizzed by with lights/sirens on but not chasing anyone. I thought, "Ooh sweet, they'll lead me to a crime scene!" I followed for a few minutes (which is difficult because they haul ass). One cop drove around the block a few times before speeding off, and another just seemed to be taking random turns going nowhere in particular. Nothing to see there, I guess. Last night I found the closest thing I've seen to a patrolling cops. Out in Grand Senora Desert somewhere I came across these two knuckleheads. They were set up in what looked like a speed trap. The guy in the passenger seat was shining his flashlight around on the road and the surroundings, completely randomly. I sat next to this car for five minutes; it didn't budge.

I've spent more time with the driving and I guess it isn't that bad. The only issue I still have with it is the braking and acceleration. Far too quick imo, the pedals aren't as sensitive and responsive as they were in IV. In IV, working the pedals properly pretty much decided whether or not your car would be stable and gripped to the ground. Unfortunately alot of ppl didn't know this or didn't have the patience enough to become skilled at it. However, I'm having so much fun with these awesome missions that half the time I don't really care for all dat. In other words: I was wrong. The driving is in no way a deal-breaker. GTAIV's driving was still awesome though.

I don't know why R* did that =\ they should know by now that if you find a rare car, or spend over a million dollars on one, then modding it costing thousands and thousands, that you're going to want to keep it, not just "Oh lol there goes my multi-million pound extremely rare custom car, oh well, I'll just steal this Ragina instead" - I hope they add a feature in a patch where you can change the characters own special vehicles/aircraft to the ones you bought at least.

Radio Broker was so much better. And I don't even like indie music that much. I know I'm probably the only person around here upset by the ditching of RnB from the series (I liked the Vibe and CSR). , but considering it's been in almost every game, I find it a shame.
