  1. The Ace of Spades ( which is what the tattoo could potentially be ) is traditionally symbolic of one of two things, both of which are often linked to one another. Those two things being Metamorphosis and Death ( not necessarily in that order ). To flip over the Ace of Spades in any kind of card reading is to get a warning of impending death, whether it be your own or someone linked to you. However it doesn't always have to be a literal death, it could be a death of a certain self, or a phase of life, thus opening a path to a new existence or new identity. People who sport the Ace of Spades are, whether they know it or not, announcing that they welcome death as a means to a better existence, or simply, that they are not afraid of death and the changes it will bring. This is why the Ace of Spades is popular with soldiers.
  2. I love falling 100's of metres into water and surviving. I remember trying to get a trophy in Far Cry 3 for free-falling a certain distance and surviving. And I think that most people probably got it after getting the wingsuit and jumping out of the plane during a mission halfway through the story. But I decided to try and do it ealier using a hang-glider, and after trying several times and not falling far enough I finally found a place high enough up that would give me the trophy. I then surveyed the ground for a source of water to fall into, and could only see a tiny pool at the base of a series of cliffs. So I jumped off the edge of the mountain with my hang glider, trying to match up my momentum with my release, and my position on the mini map relative to the water. Then at the right time I released and started hurtling towards the ground at a hundred miles an hour, trying to control my decent towards the ground by positioning my body mid air. It seemed like it would be a miracle if I made it into the pool of water, and as I got closer to the ground I barely missed the first set of cliffs by inches and the second one by even less. And then BAM! I crashed right into the edge of the pool travelling right to the bottom in nano-seconds. As I came back to the surface a crocodile attacked me before I could get my breath back and almost killed me ( due to low health ). But I made a leather pelt out of his ass after shanking it too death. This experience was one of the best I had in the game, it was exhilarating and made me feel like I had actually accomplished something meaningfull. Compare this with the Black Ops 2 wingsuit on rails part, where you had practically no control over what you were doing, and the entire section ultimately felt pointless. Far Cry 3 is an example of how you do a game right, giving the player complete control over their actions and fate.
  3. I'll be playing Hitman Absolution, Sleeping Dogs, Assassin's Creed 3 ( still haven't gotten around to finishing it ), Dishonoured, Dead Island ( still haven't finished it either ), Mass Effect 3 ( almost finished ME2 ), and lastly Bioshock Infinite. I'll pick up Company of Heroes 2, Beyond Two Souls and The Last Of Us, along with any other good games between now and September. Then I'll have a full month of GTA V gaming before Rome 2 comes out in October. The Second half of this year is going to be unbelievable, with my most anticipated games being GTA V followed closely by Rome 2. Both of which will give me months of non stop entertainment. Then the PS4 will come out November/December, and with it all the next gen game content ( Killzone Shadow Fall, Infamous Second Son, Watch Dogs etc ). And who knows what we will be getting in 2014, Fallout 4 anyone?
  4. So what are you saying, another city? I hope so, having something like San Diego further to the south sounds good to me. Or maybe by some impossible luck the highways could also go up north to San Fierro and east to Las Venturas. But that would just be too good to be true.
  5. You son of a bitch, I just went to look up whether the Release Date had actually changed, and found nothing. Only to come back here and see written in tiny writing sarcasm. Can't believe I fell for that. But thankyou for wasting 5 minutes of an otherwise boring day.

    PS4

I hope GTA V comes out on the PS4 as well. Just imagine Los Santos and it's countryside in 1080p and at 60 FPS, it would be unflippin' believable.
  7. I like the idea of leading a bear into the city, along with random bear attacks against pedestrians and hikers. On a side note, I would like for there to be a tranquilizer gun in the game which is able to put any of the animals to sleep. You should then be able to tie a rope to it and drag it slowly behind your car ( so as to not kill it ) traveling towards the coast ( or somehow be able to put it into the back of a truck bed/ even though it would be heavy as fuck ). For the next part to work, bears will need to have the ability to swim. O.K so you drive the bear right to the coast and off of a cliff into the ocean below, the bear wakes up stunned from the impact and comes face to face with a great white shark. A bloody fight insues, who will be victorious? Just something I would like to see. Plus if there was a zoo, you could try similar scenarios pairing up different animals to see who will win. Throwing Tigers in with Lions, Silverback Gorillas in with Polar Bears, Crocodiles with Killer Whales etc etc.
  8. I would personally like to see some drug dealing mechanics incorporated into GTA V, maybe like the Drug economy mini game in Chinatown Wars, only on a much bigger scale. But with GTA V focusing ( so far it seems ) primarily on Heists and the money you will make from them. This will likely be the major way you will be making money, so a drug system would only detract from the main theme of the game ( which will be all about heists ). Rockstar also said making money will be harder, and will play a more integral role in this game ( more so than any other GTA ). So this should hopefully mean making money will end up being a more rewarding experience ( due to the enhanced challenge ).
  9. Yeah I agree, it's not moving at all. But it looks alot like a bear, and with animals being a confirmed element in GTA V it's very possible that it is. This could either be an easter egg ( made on purpose by Rockstar ) pointing out that there will be wildlife like bears in GTA V. Or a total accident, which I think is unlikely due to how much control Rockstar excersises over what goes into their trailers. ......................... or it might just be a rock.....
  10. Late to the party on this one, but that bear is awfully stationary. The more I stare and squint, though... Make sure to watch it in HD with full screen and then pause it yourself. I swear that's either a bear, or a rock that looks alot like a bear. And it's definitely possible, because Rockstar said there will be animals in GTA V, plus most people know there are Black Bears in the Yosemite and Los Padres national parks.
  11. Great idea, maybe they could make Kayaking an activity ( like Tennis and Golf will be ). Where you have to navigate between markers in the river, avoiding rocks and logs ( hitting these damages your health and score or something ). Could be good, along with being able to just navigate the river systems for fun ( enjoying the scenery of the wilderness ).
  12. I would say buy it. It was definitely my favourite game of 2012. Get it if you want an absorbing game world almost on par with an Elder Scrolls or Fallout game. Although their worlds are probably more indepth, the combat in Far Cry 3 is perfect and makes traversing the world unbelievably satisfying. Some say the Story is the games weak point, but I think if you have half a brain cell in your head you will work out the underlying themes and metaphors hidden in it's events and great characters. Ultimately if you think of yourself as a gamer, you will certainly like this game ( and even if you're more casual you should still like it ). Plus if every game released was this good, no one would ever have anything to complain about anymore, period. If only we lived in a perfect world.
  13. That's exactly the problem in Mexico. The Cartels and people in general ( including Politicians/ Law Inforcment ) are so greedy, that the money they make from your great country makes them do terrible things ( or in the case of the Mexican Authorities and Officials, take bribes ). Drug importation into the US is a multi-billion dollar-a-year industry. And with the average Mexican non-professional worker making less than a 100 pesos a day ( $10 US ), making $100's or $1000's of US dollars a day working for a Cartel can be a very tantalizing prospect.
  14. DEADLINE LIVE EXCLUSIVE: Mad Mex – Los Zetas Use Road Warrior-Style Vehicles to Battle Other Cartels, Military For over a year, the criminal organization known as Los Zetas has moved in to the Falcon Lake area on the Texas-Mexico border, chasing out paramilitary groups from the Gulf Drug Cartel. As these two drug cartel organizations fought for this crucial smuggling route or ‘plaza,’ Los Zetas burned down the city of Mier and several big businesses in the town of Miguel Aleman, Mexico. With the exception of the local news media on both sides of the border, the major news outlets in Mexico and the U.S. have been silent, as local residents have been forced out of their homes, creating a refugee crisis to the point in which the city of Roma, Texas has been involved in humanitarian tasks to assist the city government of Miguel Aleman, providing food and clothing to people in need. The gun battles, ambushes, and tactics used by the drug cartels are becoming more sophisticated. Two weeks ago, the Gulf Drug Cartel decided to launch a massive counter attack against Los Zetas. Now with the assistance of the Sinaloa Drug Cartel and the criminal organization known as La Familia Michoacana (both west coast cartels), the Gulf Cartel has joined forces with what’s known as ‘the Federation.’ With the assistance of the Federation, the Gulf Cartel is still battling Los Zetas. In the counter-attack, the Gulf Cartel has moved in several hundred kilometers into Zeta territory in the state of Nuevo Leon, where on a daily basis, hundreds of dead mutilated bodies have been found. In a recent gun battle near the Texas border, the Gulf Cartel chased Los Zetas out of the now-abandoned city of Mier, forcing them to run to the nearby village of ‘Los Aldamas.’ When the Mexican Military finally arrived, they found out that they were outgunned and outnumbered. There were over one hundred vehicles full of armed men battling each other. The gun battle lasted all night, and the gunmen demonstrated sophisticated night-ops skills. The military finally received re-enforcements and took control of the situation by dawn. After Los Zetas were chased out and ran across the Nuevo Leon state line, the Mexican military discovered an abandoned Mad-Max-style vehicle, apparently made of cast-iron or a similar thick, bullet-proof metal. The vehicle was only known in ‘Mexican urban legends’ as ‘El Monstruo’ or the monster. It had a gun turret and portals so troops inside can shoot their full auto rifles at rival gangs. The vehicle was capable of transporting a dozen troops, perhaps more. Until recently, these man-made, Mad-Max-style armored vehicles had only been seen speeding on the back roads, transporting paramilitary troops late at night. They had been seen by so few people that the majority of the local population did not know or did not believe they existed. In the southern state of Jalisco, the military discovered an even bigger armored vehicle. As a result, the leadership of the Mexican military has decided to purchase armored vehicles from the military-industrial complex. The Mexican Navy has now launched their brand new Oshkosh ‘Sandcat’ vehicles, capable of withstanding IED or rocket attacks.
  15. This game you're describing doesn't really sound like GTA ( but never the less still some good ideas ). And on the subject of non-variety of Antagonists, just because there are multiple Drug Cartels doesn't mean that they're all the same. There are plenty of different criminal organisations in Mexico with different strengths and weaknesses. And they're all divided into different alliances, fighting each other for control over the importation of Meth, Cocaine, Heroin and Amphetamines into their major market ( the USA ). With new cartels being formed all the time, and sometimes coming from unlikely places. For instance Los Zetas which originated as the armed wing of the Gulf Cartel, and later broke away from their employer to form their own criminal organisation. This group was made up of Commandos from the Mexican Army's Elite forces, and is now considered ( by the US Government ) to be the most technologically advanced, sophisticated and dangerous cartel operating in Mexico. This new organisation ended up being even more brutal than the more traditional cartels, with Drug Trafficking only making up for about 50% of their profits, and the other 50% coming directly from other activities directed both against rival drug cartels and civilians. These tactics included systematic and often public displays of violence; such as beheadings, torture and indiscriminate slaughter of rivals and civilians. Showing that they prefer to use brutality over bribery. Los Zetas are very well armed and equipped. And their soldiers have had much better training than that of the regular cartels ( this is oweing to most of the members having spent time in the Special Forces ). Plus they don't have to rely on local street gangs and mercenaries for muscle as some of the other Cartels do. Although recent reports say that Los Zetas are joining forces with the Street Gang known as Mara Salvatrucha ( or MS-13 ). Forming an alliance, where MS-13 benifits from military training, and Los Zetas has at least another 5000 soldiers to call on ( as well as intelligence on government anti-drug operations ). Los Zetas are already allied with the 18th St Gang. . One of the reasons for the massive murder spike in Mexico in recent years ~ http://www.google.co...XCPEUbtL8NnN_fA And if you're 18+ and have a strong stomach take a look at some of the photos of the disgusting things these guys are willing to do ( this is definitely very far away from the fake shit you see in games and movies ). ~ *WARNING GRAPHIC CONTENT: http://www.tumblr.co...ged/los%20zetas *WARNING GRAPHIC CONTENT: http://www.google.co...0&bih=955#imgrc=_ All of this might be a little too real for a GTA game but.
  16. ...............with nothing to do in them. I vote for a country that doesn't have sheep rapists, in favour of somewhere that is a little more dangerous. Like say Mexico City, a massive Metropolis full of Street Gangs and Drug Cartels. There are Desert areas, Mountainous regions, Beaches and Aztecan jungles all within driving distance of the City. Plus the gangs and cartels there are so numerous and well equiped that even the Mexican Army can't control the situation. So there would be plenty of interesting stories/ideas that could unfold in and around this crazy city. Poor Shanty Towns ~ More Affluent Areas ~ Nearby Aztec Ruins could add some flavour ~ And this place is HUGE with 20.5 million people ( that's almost the entire population of Australia! ) ~ If not Mexico City, then maybe Rio Di Janeiro ( exploring the City, Favelas, Jungle and the Islands there as well ) ~ Imagine mowing down all of these people in a Combine Harvester.
  17. 2nd Last Faction reveal. Parthia “Tolerance, justice, profit” The ascension to power of Arsaces, leader of the Parni tribe, assured them victory against the Seleucid protectorate of Parthava, who had been weakened in their attempts to break free of Greco-Macedonian rule. Thus began the rise of Parthia, an eastern empire comparable to the Achaemenid dynasty of old and one of the few who came close to matching the power and wealth of Rome. A confederation of tribes, Parthia is famed for its horses, nomadic horse-archers and heavy cavalry, the latter developing distinctive bronze or iron scaled armour which covers both horse and rider. For its infantry it relies on ethnic Persian/Iranian hillmen, spear and skirmisher units and sometimes mercenaries, armed and drilled in the Seleucid fashion. Blending Persian, Hellenistic and local cultures, Parthia’s religious practices and philosophies include veneration of both Greek and Iranian Gods, and the practice of Zoroastrianism. Over time, a noble elite has developed, holding key areas of agricultural land upon which the economy is based, while trade via the emerging Silk Road enables its agents to move easily throughout the ancient world. As an Eastern faction, Parthia profits from the rich heritage established by the Persian Empire both in its capacity for trade and in its cultural strength. A degree of tolerance for foreign cultures further eases Parthian conquest of new lands, but their Zoroastrian practices mean an aversion to slavery, which is detrimental to both the economy and to public order. In battle, their great marksmanship and mastery of cavalry makes them a force to be reckoned with when fighting on open ground. I thought the Cataphracts looked good, but take a look at the City in the background.
  18. Totally agree. Cheats take away from any feeling of progression and accomplishment. Earning money by doing various missions, activities, gambling or by robbing is better than just entering a cheat. Progressing through the Main Story missions or completing a certain number of challenges/ activities to unlock weapons/ upgrades/ cars/ safehouses is better then entering a cheat. Looking for collectibles and getting spawned weapons that way, or completing vigilante/ ambulance/ firefighting missions and getting bonuses boosting health/ armour and the ability to become fireproof is better then just entering a cheat to become invincible/ or replace your health and armour automatically. Cheats are better for going on killing sprees, and for generally creating as much mayhem as you can, seeing how long you can last against the cops ( although if there is an invincible cheat you could last forever/ unless they have a glitch like in GTA SA where police helicopter rounds are able to penetrate you ). I don't save after accessing cheats, and usually won't fuck around with them until most of the game is completed. And I definitely never use them for story missions.
  19. Take 2, Rockstar's parent company is rumored to have multiple titles currently in development. An Article on Gamespot pointed this out. Saying ~ *Take-Two has ( an ) 'extensive pipeline' of unannounced titles in development *Grand Theft Auto publisher says it will reveal these mystery projects "in the future months." Here's the full article on the speculation ~ http://au.gamespot.com/news/take-two-has-extensive-pipeline-of-unannounced-titles-in-development-6404968
  20. Anyone remember the End Game music from Medieval Total War? I used to love listening to it after beating the Campaign. European Faction Win. ~ The Arabian Faction Win song sounds good as well. ~ http://www.youtube.c...lXgB-R0Bs#t=69s
  21. Interesting stuff, and an unbelievable Last Stand. Weird I haven't heard about it before. Gurmukh Singh, the Last Sikh Standing ended up killing 20 Afghans, with the enemy having to set fire to the Fort in order to kill him. As he was dying he was heard yelling the Sikh battle-cry " Bole So Nihal, Sat Sri Akal " ( Victory belongs to those who recite the name of God with a true heart ). I have learnt some things about Sikhs from Sikh friends at school and at work, and have done a bit of internet research on them as well. And from what I've learnt, it seems like they they were pretty much the Apex warriors in India. Usually being physically superior to other Indian Castes. Not just in strength ( they're also on average taller than most other Indians as well ), but also in their courage and determination. I know that the Indian people are broken up into a caste system, with Sikhs playing the primary protective role for the rest of the Indian Castes ( and not just as warriors, but Elite warriors ). The British saw how effective Sikh warriors were in combat when they invaded India in the 17th Century. And they played an integral role when incorporated into the new British/Indian Army Corps from that point on, up until India's Independence in 1947. Without their help in Africa, The Middle East and Asia, I doubt that the British would of been successful in maintaining their Colonies in the East as long as they did. Even with their unmatched Naval Superiority. I also know that the name Singh, which is commonly used as a title for Sikhs ( usually a Middle or Surname ), is roughly translated from Sanskrit as meaning " Lion ". An animal which is usually associated with warriors ( like for example the English King " Richard The Lionheart " ).
  22. My Great, Great, Great, Great, Great, Great ( and maybe a couple of more Greats ) Grandfather was a German Mercenary, who was a part of William of Orange's ( William III ) Army when he invaded England and took the English Throne. He then took part in the battles to retake Ireland, and was given land there as payment for his services to the new King. Years later, when the Catholics retook Southern Ireland and alot of the Protestants where dispossessed of their land ( a large percentage of Germans were Protestant, including my relations ), my family sold everything they had and moved all over the world, including to the USA, Canada, New Zealand and Australia. Although my Surname is actually Swiss, and that part of my heritage belongs to one of the oldest clans in Switzerland, going all the way back to the 12th Century. And most people who know their history, are aware that the Swiss had the best mercenaries in all of Europe throughout the Mid and Late Medieval Periods, and all the way up until the Renaissance. Our Coat of Arms has two crossed swords with the Swiss Cross below it and the Northern Star above it. Here is the Wiki for Swiss Mercenaries. Which points out that our Pikemen were one of the best military units in the world at the time. ~ http://www.google.co...ydMaGNGxnPq2qqA To this day the Swiss Guard still protect the Pope in the Vatican City. These were the last Swiss citizens permitted to act as mercenaries for a foreign power since 1859.
