    360 vs PS3

Dear The Awesome One: I don't think you're that Awesome! Well he's clearly awesome... it says it in his name... But i have both a ps3 and 360, gotta say the ps3 is everything i need and more. Internet, free online, great graphics, an easy-to-use "menu" screen, oh and did i mention free online? While the 360 is good... for some reason its less attractive to me and just sits there collecting dust sadly.. hmmmmmm, fuck it, VIVA PS3!!!!! What exactly is difficult to use about the 360's GUI? It's even easier now it's metro And surrounded by all that bullshit advertising ( so I've heard ). It's not even that bad. I'd be annoyed if it was really invasive but it's a single image and doesn't make it difficult to navigate This interface actually looks a lot better than the old one.

  3. How did it take hours. It only took me 1 minute to download and install the entire thing ( it was only like 53 MB or something like that ). What type of internet connection do you use? PS3 system software updates take a long time for me. Probably around an hour, then the ACIII installation took me 15 minutes. I use wireless connection and it's not very close to the router so the strength is like 60%... No wonder. I've got a High Speed Cable Connection, and my PS3 is connected directly to the modem with an ethernet cable. I would suggest a setup like this if you want faster system updates and game patch download speeds ( and kick-ass speed for Multiplayer games ). It's well worth the extra money you have to pay on your monthly bill. Plus the installation is usually free if it's part of a plan for a year or two. Trust me, my PS3 has a download speed of 23 MB's per second and an upload speed of about 1 MB. It's a little bit less than my computer's 54 MB's per second download speed, but still pretty good.
  4. It would be cool if there was Hail the size of baseballs. So when it Hails car windshields get broken and NPC's get knocked unconscious from blows to the head. That would be entertaining. Also it would be cool if lightning in a thunder storm actually reacted with the environment. Like hitting trees causing road closures and other problems. Plus it would be good if you could ( during a Thunderstorm ) equip a golf club and walk to the top of a hill and actually get hit by lightning either causing instant death or resulting in you gaining supernatural electrical powers ( like Infamous ). Also if there are any earthquakes, they should create massive Tidal Waves ( this would be great for any surfing mini-games ) like 40 to 50 feet high, that flood areas of the city close to the beach ( then sharks can have their fun with any NPC's caught in the flooded streets ).
  5. You're a fool my scottish friend. What does wanting street gangs ( and street gang culture elements ) to be incorporated into GTA V got to do with San Andreas? Remember Los Angeles is still the gang capital of America ( even thought there are more dangerous cities now like detroit ), so involving LA street gangs into a crime game like GTA V is a no-brainer.
  6. I will play as Michael and I have no problem with that. What I do have a problem with is the people who don't like Franklin or any "Hood" type aspects being in GTA V. And a lot of these people will probably be more drawn to Michael as their primary main character ( probably because they can relate to him better ).
  7. Michael is a pussy, who was made up to suit all the assholes who hate playing as any protaganist who isn't white. He's also boring, I mean come-on a family man, jeez I haven't seen that in countless movies and TV shows ( and the witness protection program thing has been done countless times before in other mediums ). He's got a dumbass pot smoking son, whose character probably mirrors a large percentage of the GTA player base ( so they can relate to the weed smoking and white guy thing ). He's got a dumbass typical teenage daughter ( again boring ). And a Gold-Digging One-Dimensional Wife who, Shock/Horror Hates him? ( banging my head against a wall out of boredom ). I could see strait away what type of people they where trying to relate too with each one of these characters ( Rockstar was very smart, and believe it or not playing it safe with this multiple protaganist idea ). And by people's reactions on forums like this and on comment sections on articles covering these characters. I think I have derived what type of people want which character. Trevor - People who like him want a more amoral character which is less unethusiastic about killing innocent people and generally starting alot of mayhem ( these people seem to be pretty open minded ), his interesting/unique crazy personality would also help with likeablity. Franklin - People who like him probably enjoyed San Andreas ( and aren't afraid to say so ), some of these people might be idiots therefore making others who liked San Andreas as well seem the same. People who would like him like the idea that he's the youngest and most able ( when it comes to combat and getting around ), and are interested in the gangbanging hood culture/aspects of Los Angeles/ Los Santos ( I find this very interesting as LA has a very unique Street Gang Culture ). Michael - People who like him don't like change or anything that is unrelateble ( they probably make out that they want originality but more often than not they want the same shit and probably don't even realise it ). They're probably boring ( but pretend that they aren't ), unimaginative people who would hate the idea of playing as another ( in their words ) "uneducated, dumb, ethnic, hood type person". And probably see themselves a superior to such people, and probably mock them on a regular basis ( but wouldn't dare to do it if they were face to face with such people because they themselves are cowards ). I myself am of the opinion that we are all equal in this world, no matter where you come from, how smart you are, what you look like, how much money you have. And I just find it sad that a lot of people don't share these sentiments.
  8. I agree. Why does everyone always argue over semantics ( subtle differences ). It's a joke, because the game will eventually come out and everyone will end up loving it. So this bullshit arguing over how big the Map will be is just counter-productive and pointless.
  9. I'm pretty sure the second trailer is about Franklin. Don't know what gave it away, maybe the huge fucking picture of him they used as the image for the announcement of the 2nd trailer. I`m more excited about seeing what the dog can be used for. And watching female cops arrest people. Yeah I can't wait too shoot them in the face. Down with Feminism, Equal Rights for Everyone!!! Ocean's Eleven Sucks!
  10. How is he innocent? He used to be a Gangbanger. So there is no telling what fucked up amoral shit he has done in his formative years as a teenager.
  11. How did it take hours. It only took me 1 minute to download and install the entire thing ( it was only like 53 MB or something like that ). What type of internet connection do you use?
  12. That's a great idea! Make it so you can import your own music into the game, so you can rock out with you machine gun out to your favourite tracks. Chainsaw Massacres to the tune of Hollaback Girl ( or some other ridiculous song ). I wouldn't mind rolling up into a rival-gang infested neighbourhood, getting out of the car and putting on "Down for my honkys", while casually gunning down enemies left, right and centre.
  13. With the introduction of 3 different characters in the Single Player format. This makes me think that they will try several different co-op modes with 3 or more people. For instance Horde modes with either Zombies or Gangs/ Police, and maybe Heist Missions plus other missions which have yet to be identified. Now some of you might say a Co-Op Horde Mode is boring and wouldn't work in an open sandbox game like GTA. But I think with all the details that came out in GI's latest issue, like the three characters having specific roles within the group when on heists, and each having a different Role/Weapon ( One Driving/One Sniping/ And the other with an Automatic Weapon providing covering fire ) in Vehicles ( cars/ helicopters/ and maybe jets for just two players ). Meaning there could be classes that could be created for each individual player in a co-op mode ( like a class that is more adept with Heavy Weapons and provides most of the Firepower during Missions ). Vehicles could play a part in the modes other than heist missions, just like the helicopter setup mentioned in GI's article, but maybe for other vehicles like Cars where one player drives while you're being pursued by the police and you all have to make it to the other side of the map ( to deliver a package or something ). Another player uses a machine gun, and another a grenade/rocket launcher, the fourth is the one who is the best getaway driver. Or if there were battles with the Army there could be a tank setup where one player controls the Main Cannon and Drives the tank, another uses the Machine Gun and another the Anti-Aircraft Gun.This is kind of like Battlefield's Multiplayer but in the Sandbox of Los Santos and the surrounding countyside ( Desert/ Forests/Small Redneck Towns/Hollywood Sets/ Hood Area/ Military Bases/ Venice Beach/Downtown/ Mansions of Beverly Hills ). Hell that could be a part of a multiplayer mode as well, with helicopters/ jets and ground forces as well ( Imagine if there was Building Destruction too.......... Ahh it's good to dream ). The co-op vehicles and gameplay would also translate well to the Horde Mode. Mowing down zombies with vehicles ( cars/motorbikes ) customised with chainswas and massive blades on either side of the car/bike while the other players shoot from the windows. Or if it was waves of gangs/police, the cars could be upgraded to be more resistant to bullets with armour plating and bullet resistant windows, while aslo adding attached Heavy Machine Guns, Mini-Guns, Grenade Machine Guns, if you have a truck with a bed in the back where you can put these things so one person can use the Heavy weapon while the other two drive and shoot, with the Driver driving and shooting with a sub machine gun and the passenger either using an assault rifle or something a little bigger. There are so many possibilities for great co-op modes in a GTA game! Just some rambling ideas I had when I woke up this morning.
  14. Immature? Haha nice post Kenny. If you were trying to hide you age before it came out in that one.How can you call someone a kid for referencing San Andreas? This is a GTA forum. Of course it's gonna get referenced. We compare it to IV because it was the last main title before IV. Just because I enjoyed it more than IV doesn't mean I'm a immature... For example, if given the choice to fuck either you or your mom, in almost all instances I would choose your mom. Why? Well even tho you're the newer version of her, and have less hair on your ass, the overall experience I get with her with be more pleasurable in the long run because she was more fun. Plus I don't wanna go to prison for having sex with a minor. Don't worry COSenna most of the members on here troll all new members and anyone that brings up San Andreas in their posts. I've thought about why they do it and either it's an inside joke between the older members or they don't even consciously know they're doing it. Firstly they will insult your view on the topic while providing their own view. Then when you defend yourself and provide a counter-point, they say why do these new members always get upset ' It's just OPINIONS' ( ). Then they will all gang up on you posting insults and further critiquing your views, just to incite a further reaction. They probably get a little bit of enjoyment out of all of this. As most cowardly bullies do. Such as endorphines or dopamine being released in their tiny ignorant brains. You guy's know who you are.
  15. I think I'll be saying what I want to say, dyke. Plus are you even a Moderator?
  16. I, a white Englishman, walked through various areas in South Central when I went, and it didn't look like Boyz-n-da-Hood. It looked less intimidating than London to be honest. So I beg to differ on the first point. The fact that they have modernised pretty much concludes my arguement. They have changed, as has the culture. O.K. so you walked through what you thought was a gang neigbourhood when you were on holiday in the US. Wow sir, you must be an expert on the gangs in LA then.
  17. There are more gangs then ever in LA, especially when it comes to Mexican/Hispanic Gangs in South Central/East LA ( probably 5 to 10 times the number compared to the 90's ). You miss the point, there may be more gangs, but the gang culture has changed. 90s LA was characterised, in part, by gangbangers in lowriders. I'm not from LA, but from an outsiders perspective, through media exposure and visting, the gang culture there now is pretty different. There may be more gangsters, but how they operate has changed. A little like how the mob culture in the North East is different now, to the 1930's (though obviously not as drastic as that example). How exactly has it changed, drug dealers may no longer use beepers, and instead use mobile/cell phones. But there are still lowriders/ hotrods in the 'Hood' type areas, as well as colour gangs like bloods ( red ), crips ( blue ), and mexican gangs ( brown ), Gangs still have pretty much all of South Central and East LA Divided Up, places like Long Beach, Compton, Inglewood, Huntington Park, Willowbrook etc, etc. Selling everything like Crack, LSD, Yay, Hay, X etc, etc. They still do drive by's, they still use strongarm and intimidation tactics on local businesses. In fact I would say they act pretty much the same way that they did in the 90's. Except now they are better equiped with a wider variety of Assault Rifles, Machine Gun's, Sub Machine Guns, RPG's, Hand Grenades, and other explosives like C4. Plus alot of them have Bullet Resistant Vests and other body armour, as well as armoured cars now with bullet proof windows. Alot of these gangs have made alot of money over the years selling drugs and as a result have become alot more numerous and tougher to deal with ( for law enforcment ). They are probably tougher now than they were in the 90's, especially gangs like MS13 and 18th St under the direction of the Mexican Mafia. So I would say in this respect they are different, they're tougher and more organised than they ever were in the past. I've researched alot into the gang culture in Southern California ( it's an interesting subject ), and I think it would be a mistake for Rockstar not to give any attention to Gangabangers in the South Central and East LA regions. Especially since the GTA series is focused around crime in urban areas.
  18. There are more gangs then ever in LA, especially when it comes to Mexican/Hispanic Gangs in South Central/East LA ( probably 5 to 10 times the number compared to the 90's ). So LA's Unique gang culture is going stronger then ever.
  19. it'll be 2 discs... maybe 3... but hopefully[ if R* are clever ] 2 disc install and 1 disc play. don't think they can fit it on 2 discs when thinking about size, details, little things, coding etc etc... and definitely not on one disc. never. That's what you get for buying a subpar system. GTA V on PS3 FTW!
  20. There was nothing about animals in GI's preview. But Rockstar previously mentioned that animals would feature in GTA V. But to what extent no one really knows yet.
  21. They said it would be impossible for it to look right with all 3 characters and all the animations and clothing. It was easier to do with SA because the graphics were more forgiving. I still dont know if it was impossible. I mean, saints row you could be a skinny ass chick or a big fat guy and those extremes was a lot more than the differences between the 3 protags. Not that I give a shit about working out or getting fat. Saints Row 2 & 3 have pretty shit graphics compared to GTA. And other open world titles. I was pretty disappointed with the overall texturing of character models in Saints Row 3.
  22. It would be cool if you could not only track them down, but kill them as well ......................................................... this might fuck up the story but, so I don't know
  23. Well GI definitely said in their article that a Salton Sea type of area would be included in the game. So just that area itself would be pretty big, encompassing the sea ( which is really a lake ), as well as the wasteland around it, and all the ghost towns, biker bars and abandoned trailer parks ( the place is like Meth Head and Biker Central ). This place will be pretty close to Trevor's Trailer Park home. So overall just try and imagine most of the areas in Southern California ( or look at the map ). How much of it could be condensed to fit in this area?
  24. Well the character I most relate to is Franklin ( being young from a poor background/area wondering what he's going to do with the rest of his life, and having gangsta/drug dealing fuck ups for friends ). But the other two characters look very interesting as well. Can't wait to find out all about them when the game comes out. Spring Baby!
