  1. Man, just buy it for console. Then when the PC version comes out buy it again for that. And I don't believe for one second that anyone who calls themself a true gamer would ever pass up a new GTA game. So quit sulking and pre-order your GTA V copy for the PS3. Did you even PLAY GTA IV for PC? The game was horrid and still is. Plagued by bugs and overall just shitty. A patch meant to fix the game further hindered it for Christs sake. Rockstar just don't care about PC gamers. Don't even give me the "not a real gamer shit". I bought IV for PC first day and got given that shite. I'll save my money for stick of truth instead. What is wrong with playing it on a console. It's a legitimate and fun way to play GTA, on a Comfy Couch infront of a Massive 50'Inch LCD/LED TV. Give it a try. And you never know you might even end up liking it.
  2. Yeah but it's not really like the old San Andreas, beacause it's only Los Santos now ( minus San Fierro and Las Venturas ).
  3. I thought the other hand was more like a W for Westside Hand-sign, or maybe a C for a Crip Gang-sign. I'm talking about her right hand not left. That's alright, I'm only talking crap anyway. Just like you. You should really cut back on the Carnation Instant Bitch. How you can't see the V/2 is beyond me. I can see the Roman Numeral for five V just fine. But I doubt Rockstar's intention was to also imply the number two for San Andreas 2.

  5. I hope that the Testudo Formation in this game actually works like it would in real life. It should deflect all incoming misiles, intead of just some. Then the Legionaires/Praetorians should break formation when the enemy infantry is within close range, so they can charge. Also a defensive position should be able to be built even when on the attack. This should have ditches and spiked wooden stakes, along with areas where you can put your ballistas, catapults, and archers ( just like in the opening battle of Gladiator ). So you can really " Unleash Hell " on the Barbarian Hordes.

  8. All you need is a snorkel and spear gun and you're set. I hope they have packs of smaller sharks in the shallow water just off the beach and rocks ( this is what Bullsharks usually do in real life ). And maybe some really big monsters further out in the deep water, something about twice the size of Jaws will do ( so plenty of Great Whites and Tigers but 3 or 4 times their normal size ).
  9. What are you talking about, boxing has countering, it's called counter punching ( this is either usually done with head movement and/or footwork to sidestep and land shots to the opponents ribs and/or side of the head. Boxing also has parrying, fades, dips, bobbing, weaving, and feints which are all used in conjuntion with combinations of punches. All of this makes them very good at countering an adversaries attacks and movement. Please don't think Western boxing is sub-par compared to other Martial Arts. Because there is no other art which gives you as good conditioning as a fighter or a better punching technique ( for the first couple of years when learning to box, the main thing you concentrate on is learning to perfect your punch ). When boxing is combined with other Arts such as Judo and or Jui Jitsu, a person can become a very well-rounded fighter both on the feet and off of them.
  10. INGLEWOOD INGLEWOOD INGLEWOOD INGLEWOOD INGLEWOOD -.-' -The ghetto areas in SA were: -Ganton -Idlewood -Jefferson -Glen Park -Willowfield -El Corona -East Los Santos -Las Colinas -Los Flores ...((I know this, I'm the niggiest here))...lol Yeah you're right. But who knows what the new area names will be, and if the old areas like Idlewood will even be returning ( the names could be different ).
  11. Are you talking about street gangs, or satanic cults? You obviously haven't heard about Yardie ( Jamaican ) Gangs, they have a ton of voodoo ritualistic shit going on. Haitian, Cuban, Columbian, South East Asian Gangs have there own takes on ritualistic/satanic themes and practices in there gangs as well. Here's an example remember King Willie from Predator 2 ( the movie ), he was heavily influenced by voodoo ritual, like rolling bones from different animals, and getting meaning out of the way they fall ( predicting the future, or what course of action he/or his gang should take in relation to a matter ).
  12. Las Venturas would be good, just like a new Area 69 would be good aswell. But this time make it possible to break into the base without getting blown up. And maybe put an easter egg or two in there ( Aliens or something ).
  13. I think there should be Mexican Drug Cartels in the game. And Hitmen that can be hired by criminal organisations like these to hunt you down. These hitmen should have body armour and superior weapons and tactics to normal gangsters. And they should try and ambush you at your safehouse or when driving around. They could also have standby crews waiting for the O.K to hunt you down if you give their bosses too much of a headache. Imagine an Anton Chigurh character ( Bad-guy from the movie No Country For Old Men ) armed with a captive bolt pistol ( cattle gun ), silenced shotgun and a silenced machine gun, all dressed in Black methodically hunting you. This would be great. I think they should have an interesting/ badass Antagonist like this who has a unique personality and weaponry. He could be anywhere, say you're walking down an alley way at night and when you least expect it you're shot and badly injured. You try and find some cover, trying to fire back at this invisble guy in the darkness. Or you are driving along then all of a sudden you're tyres are blown out by either spike strips/gunfire or you're rammed by a garbage truck, and you're ambushed by van loads of heavily armed and masked gunmen carrying AK47's, then you're car is riddled with gunfire. Luckily the car you're in is armour plated and has bullet proof windows specially made for a situation like this.
  14. On the drug dealing side of things. Maybe they could take some aspects from Scarface: The World Is Yours where you make a deal with a Drug Lord overseas, have the drugs imported to one of the islands off the coast of Los Santos, then take the Cocaine/Heroin by speed boat ( trying to avoid/out run the Coast Guard and DEA ) to a marina in or near to the city to be unloaded. Then you have to take the shipment and drop a couple of keys off to all your dealers and fronts, within a limited time ( while being chased by either the police or rival drug cartels ).
  15. The businesses should only be fronts for your criminal enterprises. And there should be missions associated with these enterprises. For intsance Drug labs and distribution networks should have missions involving taking out rival Drug Labs, and Drug Dealers/Lords. Protection Rackets should involve you intimidating business owners ( kind of like the Godfather games ) to create rackets, and wasting any rival gangs/criminals that hassle the businesses under your protection. Maybe Drug Networks could be upgraded to incorporate importation of large amounts of Grade A drugs ( Heroin from Asian sources and Cocaine from South American countires ) with bigger profits on the initial investment. You should also be able to buy banks to launder/clean your money, and there should also be both a stock and property market in the game to invest your ill-gotten gains in. Then reinvest the rent and shares back into your enterprises, hiring more soldiers into your private army, bribing law enforcement/politicians and streamlining everything to make them even more efficient at making money.
  16. I paid perfect attention to the story. Did you? I'm guessing you can relate to ( if not, understand ) him wanting to right his wrongs. Even if his only failure was to not sucessfully protect a group of assholes. Maybe it's just me but right from the beginning of the story I felt like why would someone like him be in " that " environment surrounded by " those kinds " of people ( Assholes ) if he had a choice. I mean he is an adult who can make decisions for himself right. So why even though he hates the work he's doing and the clientele he is protecting insist upon not only staying there but going on a crusade to rescue the idiots when they're kidnapped. He even alluded that he didn't hold the Rodrigo Family in high regard in his internal monologue. He did this several times talking about his disdain for each of the individual family members. And I know your going to say it was his job, and that he was a down on his luck alcoholic with not many options or career prospects. But that is all bullshit, he could of walked away if he wanted to and done something else. He didn't stay because of the job, even when sarcastically saying " well I guess I've got a job to do " when on the hunt for Fabianna after Rodirogo Branco's death. His statement is two sided in that he seems weary about proceeding ( because of the bullshit motivations for rescuing the family members ) but he is also commited to getting the job done ( even if the job is rescuing a bunch of dickheads/ and is also to show he is an honourable person, and make his character more likeable to the audience/gamer ). I also hate how they tried to tie Fabianna to Max's dead wife and daughter. As if this was Max's chance to symbolically save his wife ( which he couldn't ) by saving Fabianna. Because if his wife was anything like Fabianna he should of gotten divorced, instead of the forced seperation that occured in the first game. It all just smacks of a poorly contrived motivation to drive his character into action. I guess I shouldn't expect this much from a game, but I respect Rockstar so much, I think they could of done a better job with the Main Character's motivation and also the poorly implemented noir elements. Also by the end of the game Max's lack of motivation either made him look very honourable in his pursuit of the captured princess Fabianna, or like a Massive Tool. I personally thought the latter, but I could see how it would appeal to other tools. And do I need to dumb it down further for you sir? he was paid to do something, he does what he is paid to do, because thats what you do when you are paid for something. end of story Good god the artistic mediums of movies, games and books need more inventive and original minded people like you. End of story. Then the future will have copious amounts of utter garbage and drivel to sit bored to death through. Thankyou for your productive imput sir.
  17. Great read. The only problem is the Porsche Carrera & Spyder models are better than the 911. That's just my opinion but.
  18. O.K I won't disagree about The Knight being a dick. But Tarantino being one of Cinemas greatest directors, being compared to Saints Row ( which I like ), which is no where near one of the best game series seems crazy to me. And in my opinion the analogy was not apt. Some of the best Gaming Franchises: ~ Mario ~ GTA ~ Final Fantasy ~ Legend of Zelda ~ God Of War ~ Assasin's Creed ~ Crash Bandicoot ~ Sonic ~ Elder Scrolls ~ Fallout ~ Kingdom Hearts ~ Metal Gear Solid ~ Metroid ~ Half Life etc.etc,etc,etc................................................................ Even these great gaming franchises are incomparable to the greatest movies. I hope that future games will be able to mimic the brilliant/deep themes and story of great movies.
  19. Except the analogy is there to illustrate how the games contrast with each other (in a very general sense), the games needn't be identical in tone to the films for the analogy to stand up. Anyway this is getting way off-topic so I'll just leave it there and agree to disagree. I would say the " very general sense " of contrast between Saints Row and Tarantino is so general that it is incomparable and totally implausible. Also this whole discussion started off with Massacre making an assertion that a previous poster's analogy was shit ( of little value ) compared to his, of which he then gave. Now you're all defending him saying an analogy can be very broad in it's sense and be different in tone which seems to be opposed with Massacre's statement that the other member's post was invalid, and you liked his comment Edgecrusher so what is it, do you agree with Massacre or with the last post you made ( don't be afraid to kiss a little more ass ). This is analogy's definition ie; a comparison of two different things similarities ( small or vast ). Yet I didn't see you defending the other lower ranking member. Funny That
  20. I agree with you, that would be very short and boring. That's why I think they should of focused more on Max's motivations, to concequently make his character more believable and relatable too the player. Then with justifications for Max's actions the player would be more emotionally invested in the overall experience and more satisfied with the story's final outcome. Just my opinion. No facts or anything.
  21. I'll give you an example, take Quentin Tarantino's " Pulp Fiction ". Which characters are the protaganists and which are the antagonists? The answer would probably be different for each individual viewer. This is based not only on their personal views about the movie and their perception, but also the way the movie follows several character's stories which intersect and influence the other character's and their stories. This also done out of order ( Timeline wise as to confuse the audience even more ). So when Bruce Willis's Butch comes home to get his dead father's gold watch, and then proceeds to shoot John Travolta's Vincent character. Who in this case is the Protaganist and who is the Antagonist? Given also that by this point you have watched Vincent's story.
  22. If you base it on critical reception and not style, content, and atmosphere, then sure, you're right. My analogy is valid. Pretty much what I was about to post. Tarantino films are highly stylised and purposefully OTT (ala Saints Row) in tone whereas Scorsese films are more subtle and gritty (GTA). Seems a fair analogy to me. Except the only really gritty GTA was GTA lV. Was 1, 2, 3, Vice City, San Andreas, Both VC & LC Stories and Chinatown Wars? And Saints Row is Over-The -Top like Tarantinos Movies, but it is also completely ridiculous with little to no underlying subtext to drive it's story and themes. This is very different to Tarantino's movies which have a rich subtext rife with double entendres and hidden meanings, polished with ulta suave & cool pop-culture music, clothing design, set design, original characters and themes ( some are borrowed ). Tarantino is also a great writer of screenplay's with plenty of great memorable lines that are very off-the-cuff and original ( he incourages alot of improvisation from the actors ), which is very different to Saint Row's Unoriginal Toilet Humour, and basic dialogue ( it's only a game but ). It's also a little bit unfair to say that a director only has one particular style. One of the most important goals for many directors is to always try something new with each and every movie they make. Scorsese has had more time ( since the 60's/ 70's ) to make a more consumate dirctorial library, he is 69 by the way, and is starting into the twilight of his film making career. Whereas Tarantino is only 49 and has plenty of time to try different approaches to his craft. He has already made movies like Jackie Brown for instance that are more reminiscent of an older and more experienced director, and that was only his third film. I expect great movies from him in the future. Even with his lackluster ( compared to his older films ) latest entries.
  23. You bring up an interesting point. If they have tanks in GTA V, which they almost definitely will since it was pretty much confirmed the Army will be returning. Should they be entirely bullet proof? And more importantly if they are bullet proof should Rockets and other devices be essential in taking them down? Also could the tank have two guns? maybe the Main Cannon and a Machine Gun, which could be controlled by a 2nd player/ Character.
