Drug Dealing in Grand Theft Auto 5
liquidhalogen replied to therealkiddala's topic in GTA 5 Pre-Release Discussion (Closed)
I dont want R to make a game that will appease the hardasses that are against this or that. I want them to make a game that will appease us, the gamers, who pay the company and therefore the only factor they should consider. FUCK those who this game offends, fuck em and don't bring up that argument like they shouldnt do this or that because it will offend those idiots, its an insult to what R stands for, and that is not giving a fuck and pushing the boundaries of what is allowed in video games. THey are just video games. Any lunatic using the game as an excuse to do shit in real life is just using it as an excuse. Thats like if I said my dog ate my homework we should start banning dogs. Besides, we can kill millions of people in this game!!! Whats worse than that?! Killing animals?! Having real sex with hookers?! Fuck this puritan bullshit, if you can kill npc in full gore and view, you should fuck people in full view. Thats the same kind of bullshit like in America where you have people going to Iraq, potentially dying for this country, and not being able to legally have a drink when they come home. But I've strayed off topic, excuse me. Yes, there should be a totally immersive drug trafficing aspect to this game. Also you should be able to do drugs, and in reply to whoever posted that doing drugs will make it difficult to run from police so they shouldnt let you do it because of that I say you SHOULD make it possible for your character to drugs BECAUSE it will make it harder to run from police and possibly more fun. Drugs are bad for you and should be shown as such in the game by how the influence you. But let the character take the drugs, it would be so fucking fun doing lines of coke while running from cops lol, and then going through massive withdrawals lol... like puking for days randomly, inside cars and in public, darkened vision, shaky hands when trying to aim a gun, AWESOME! -
Thank you so much for saying that. I respect that there are a lot of people who argue against customization of this and that but I think there should be more people fighting for what to me is the core of GTA, the absolute fucking bat shit crazy lunacy and ridiculousness of it all. I think anything ridiculous should be thrown into this game. Crazy hair styles for player characters that completely don't fit the hair style, you should be able to get so obese you dont even fit into certain cars, or you need to call a medical truck to haul you to places. Same goes for being so skinny that you need a walking stick to support your frail body. Tattoos of all colors of course, and anywhere. Even on your fucking forehead, who cares! MAKE IT POSSIBLE! Anyone who doesnt want to take part in the lunacy can opt out of it, but leaving it out completely leaves the rest of us out of having fun. BTW, the chick crossing the road when the guy is dropping the top of the car in the trailer has a color tattoo on her upper arm, check it out... You should be able to get piercings that look stupid and ridiculous, like those rings people put in their ears that make the lobes super big, like elephant ears. You should be able to get your mouth pierced, and then when you talk everything comes out slurred. you should be able to get different implants and turn into a tranny if you wanted to. FUCK IT! ITS GTA! We do it live! (inside joke for bill o'reilly fans lol)

What if you could see the cars the game is saving for you in the start menu? Lets say you can store a maximum of 10 outside of those stored in your garage? The list will say, you have such and such a car in a ditch near the hills over there, erase or choose not to depending on the situation

What do you guys think they mean when they say "the largest and the most ambitious game Rockstar has yet created", and "radical reinvention of the Grand Theft Auto universe"? I think it can either mean: A. It will feature previous gta principles but on a much greater scale and/or B. It will fundamentally change how gta works, altering previous foundational principals the game has been based on. Of course I can't know what they mean by that, but to me when they say these things I like to use my imagination and wet dream about what would make me agree with them having looked at their product. Some things that come to my mind (but aren't a necessity) that would satisfy these claims by the developers are listed below starting with "the largest and the most ambitious game Rockstar has yet created" (list is not all or nothing, it is and/or) -a larger map then any rockstar game. That means it would have to be bigger then Red Dead. Even if it is just LA county, here the truth, LA county is like a mini country. Check this out - http://ceo.lacounty.gov/forms/09-10%20cities%20alpha.pdf it's a list of all the cities in it. They include such hotspots and personable cities as Malibu, Glendale, Burbank, Pasadena, Redondo beach, Santa monica, etc... -An amount of enterable buildings vastly bigger than before. Bordering on a radical reinvention of the genre by having a lot of the game be in-doors. What if every shop could be walked into, that would be a radical reinvention in my mind for sure... -A completely fresh idea to cars, creating a much different approach. Think about it, cars are the absolute core of this game, the way gta treats them now is more or less that no car is gonna last you more than half a minute on average. What if they changed that to make a car much more personal to you? Make it easier to hold on to it for longer? A bigger emotional attachment to the car. A deeper level of interaction such as an in-car camera. customization, saving the car for as long as you want anywhere. Being able to buy cars are just some of the ideas that come to mind. - Vehicles that have never been featured or even closely used in previous games. Military equipment, submarines, huge boats, cruisers, yachts, fucking I dont even know lol...spaceships... what about "radical reinvention of the Grand Theft Auto universe" - Redefined npcs. What if every character had a job? Even if it is a loose concept, that would still be dramatic. Every person went to work during the day in a certain place, parked their car in a certain place, went on vacation on certain times, went to the pub, at certain times, had a family, - A different approach to guns. Thinking MGS customization options, -stealth being way more prominent? -creating your own missions? You being the boss? What if you could yourself stage a very elaborate robbery, heist, bank job, theft, ponzie scheme? -What if they created a new engine for pedestrian behavior? What if every pedestrian had a different level of happiness that would affect how they drove, how the talked and dressed, what they did, how loud they would play music in their cars, how close they were to snapping, committing suicide, goign on a shooting spree, hanging out with friends, buying a new car, etc... - What if the city was constantly changing? new buildings and shops? different neighborhoods going into poverty or going into wealth throughout the game? After all that is truly happening now in LA, just look at the downtown which used to be a total ghetto, now is one of the banking centers of at least the US, it is also a culture center of LA. All within less than two decades... - Multiple playable characters? To me that was shown beyond a doubt in the trailer with us not being able to ascertain who the main character was judging from it. When have we ever been in doubt in the previous games trailers? what do these statements mean to you?

What are you looking for in GTA5?
liquidhalogen replied to Qdeathstar's topic in GTA 5 Pre-Release Discussion (Closed)
I was just looking at the first SA trailer and I remembered how blown away we all were with rockstar just showing all this crazy stuff we could finally do in gta that we didnt even think of like spray painting, playing b ball, etc... I really want the new gta to blow us away with how much shit you can do that's just there for fun, not necessarily realistic, who cares? It would be awesome to get seasons but I doubt that would happen since they don't exist in LA... Actually snow capped mountains are only a few hours drive away from LA though, it would be awesome if they included skis and snowboarding It would be awesome if Disney hall was in the game -

I still think the rim in the shadow on the bottom pick is different then the rim in the shadow in the previous pics... didn't gta iv have different rims for same cars though? I don't remember... -

On another note the comment about the tent is awesome. We se a rolled up tent in the hilltop shot and an open one in the ghetto shot. Also people keep saying "why have planes if its only one city aka. one airport?" Well LA has at least three major airports plus several smaller ones... http://www.igrandtheftauto.com/forums/index.php?act=Search&CODE=show&searchid=335bfeceec2bf8dd7d007d3eef7a5aae&search_in=posts&result_type=topics&highlite=%2Bliquidhalogen just in case you thought I was lying. OK I admit it guys I only read about 3 pages into the trailer breakdown before I got pissed off at the amount of people not "breaking down" the trailer. Now I've read the whole thread and there is a lot of good stuff there, I probably wouldnt have started my post the way I did had I read the whole thing. Also I think I made a lot of points there that haven't yet been covered. I'm too fucking tired to go into it now, maybe I'll do it later... -

Nope, it's Via Rodeo Drive. Again, see the trailer analysis. You can even see the places I pointed out in Google Streetview. You're right I missed that. They're the same exact rims. Reflections make it seem a little different. Same rims, different color. Don't know why you say the reflections make it seem different. in the first scene the ring around the rim is shining while the inner workings are black. In the next scene they are all the same reflection. -

Once you've been contributing to the forums long enough to know who we are and how we think then try this again, until then you have no idea who you are talking to and what we have talked about in the past. A lot of us have been talking gta since before san andreas together. There is only one trailer and therefore only so much we can acertain from the trailer before we have to start having fun and messing around with ideas. No way you could have known this probably but I have been on these forums since the creation of gta-sandreas.com, I left because of all the trolling on the forums. All the flaming and posts that add no value but are merely commentary. You know what? You're probably right though, fuck it. It's been a long time since I visited these forums and I've gotten used to other forums where it's against forum rules to make posts that have 0 value add, but fuck it I guess... its a video game forum, what else could you expect? There is no proof the voice is of a white male, middle aged. I agree he is probably around 40 years old and from the standard first trailer release of past GTA games is probably the protagonist. What evidence do you have that he is not the only playable character? Ok, he doesnt sound black, he doesnt sound hispanic, he doesnt sound asian. The evidence is that rockstar uses in game camera angles. Take for example the scene with the car at the stoplight lowering its roof, the camera angle is one that you can activate while driving around in previous gta games. Thats why I thought that the camera was following that car around as if the person in the car is being played. Get it? Sorry if this sounds complicated I can't find a better way to explain it, and I may be wrong anyway. 0:24: retractable roof. You can now open and close the roof of a convertible car. Also when the guy gases the car the woman reacts and stops to look at that character, did they do that in gta iv? I don't remember... Girl wears detailed jewelry, perhaps we can buy jewelry now... Car has front of a porsche, back of an aston martin/ bmw m series. Guy shifts in seat, perhaps because of pressing the button to make the roof drop, perhaps due to interaction with girl. Also this is all in game footage, I'm certain the black male is a playable character, one of or the only one in the game. What makes you think he's the character other than him being in the trailer more than once? Just curious? But this has all been mentioned. Solely based on camera angles. 0:28 due to camera angle most likely a cutscene. Note the huge cloud of dust the car kicks up. That's awesome! Guy talks about buying a big house. Another allude to property management. Also has something to do with the quest for money. Cutscene? Most of the trailer is constructed with film based camera angles, why is this one different? Ok I may be missing something. What do you mean by film based camera angles? Like they have a free cam they can move anywhere in the game? even during gameplay? Or using only camera angles we can use during normal gameplay... 0:30 people working out in totally different ways as opposed to guys working out on beach. possible we can do these types of workouts without use of machines, etc...yoga? sounds unlikely but is possible... also there is a telescope, voyeur fun! I can't say wether it's just a prop or can be used. Possible as a weapon? DJ equipment downstairs, possible dj mini game? also remains from a party are obvious on the lower floor, possibly something party like happening in private homes in the game. It's worth noting that people jogged in IV, and also did Tai Chi in central park. We couldn't though. Noted. 0:31 Highway 5 is a real highway in Cali and in LA. Highway numbers will be real then Rockstar likes to use elements of the real world they are emulating. And always have. Are you saying it will definately lead to San Diego because they chose that number? What? You're totally taking it further than I meant. All I said was the highway is real, and it spans from san diego to at least San Jose, can't remember the exact length... Do you remember all the weed plantations in San Andreas? Vapour trails have been in GTA before. Totally forgot. Look mate, you've pointed out some interesting things, and you've pointed out ALOT that we all already knew and discussed. While I appreciate you trying to have a more in depth look at the trailer, you could have done that without being deliberately abrasive in your first post. I'm not quite sure who made you the boss of this topic (psy must have forgotten to tell us) but don't come in here acting all high and mighty, we are all fairly easy going guys, we like to discuss GTA, and have a muck around. But you come in here with an attitude like that and everyone is going to immediately assume you're a c*nt. And I don't blame them. I come with an attitude of someone who has had a love/hate relationship with these forums from the beginning. As for you being easy going, that has never been my feeling, as can be evidenced by the replies to my post... presume away -

Not the best start to your posting career here. Pointing to things and stating an opinion is different than making inferences and saying that's the way it is - when obviously no one actually knows and some of the things you're saying are far fetched or off base. Sorry if it sounded like I was drawing conclusions but that's just the way I type, it saves time not having to write " of course this is just speculation" all of the time, I deduced that was presumed automatically... I don't see any birds. The things flying around are more like bugs. They are too big to be bugs in my opinion. Nope, it's Via Rodeo Drive. you may be right, are you saying that just because of the cobblestone or are there are details? Two different vehicles. Rear ends aren't the same. Also there's only one red car in the whole scene and it doesn't appear to be the same one we keep seeing at all. They are, we're talking about the jeeps right? the two back to back scenes from 52 to 53 have three jeeps, we see the backs of only two, they are the same except for a little black square (licence plate?) on the second one. Im lost by what red car you're referring to. There is a blue car and a white car that are the same in that scene, and I think they are the same as the car in the :23 scene. They're the same exact rims. Reflections make it seem a little different. I double checked and I still think you're wrong, check again... And the rest of you lighten up a little. You don't need to completely rip the kid a new one. kthnxbai. Thats kind of a condescending tone but whatever, thanks for sticking up in your own way I guess... -

No offense guys but I'm a little disappointed at the lack of constructive feedback, if you don't have any value to add don't post like a troll.... Here's some thoughts: Voice is of white male, middle aged, probably over 40. Most likely a playable character. Most likely not only playable character in game. opening scene: it's a definite YES to animals in the game. This could suggest possibly having an animal of your own, possibly using animals as weapons, possible customization of animal, possible animal shops, possibly the animal would need maintenance like feeding and walking. nothing is definite except for the fact that YES there are animals in the game. Deductively it probably also means there will be at least cats... at 0:10: we see some pretty complicated character interaction and animation. NPCs look at each other and react in a more complex way than in iv. both NPC groups are jogging and right female jogger jogs backward while looking at another npc. at 0:16 in the quick cut of the guy swinging there is a complicated map of the golf course with a red flag on it making me think that the course is most likely playable. The red flag looks like it is a separate art work that will have shifted in a different part of the course. Anyways, that sign makes me think its playable. 0:17: Derigible. Yes you can fly it. Yes you can crash into it. It probably explodes like crazy. Will be awesome to fly low over city. Probably a mission involving it flying over staples center. A play on the famous Goodyear blimp that always flies over Staples. 0:19: Guy on jet-ski is wearing a lifevest. I don't recall those existing before, perhaps the character puts it on when you get on the jet-ski, possible different interaction with water with it on. 0:20 scene with people posing for photo. 1, characters hold hands so at least it is certain that npcs have relationships with each other. THey have camping gear - possible continuation of what r introduced with Red Dead as in lots of things happening in wilderness, etc. People camping, mini missions and so forth. Most likely a little mini mission would be to snap a photo for some people... Meaning there is most likely a camera featured in the game. Camping gear indicated ;you might find people camping out in the woods. Expect the Woods to be very inhabited by people with many interesting things going on there, possible play on burning man, maybe big camps with trailers, most likely there are animals in these woods such as bears, etc... 0:28 due to camera angle most likely a cutscene. Note the huge cloud of dust the car kicks up. That's awesome! Guy talks about buying a big house. Another allude to property management. Also has something to do with the quest for money. 0:31 Highway 5 is a real highway in Cali and in LA. Highway numbers will be real then 0:33 Very complicated gym animations. We can most likely work out in a myriad of complex ways, possible we can fine tune our body much more precisely than in San Andreas. 0:37 scene obviously thrown in to show complicated hand gesture, symbolizing a discreet greeting. Makes sense as one guy is dressed much better than another. Perhaps doesn't want people to know they know each other. The guy in the sweater also walks to avoid the guy leaning on the building, could actually mean guy is trying to avoid him. hand gesture is a dismissal. Guy in white most likely dealing drugs. Narrator talks about kids - there is an obvious hint to family life within the game, maybe playing a big role, not unlikely that main playable character will have a family in the game. ALso we can see a blue car (bmw lookalike) pulling up to the curb. Looks like an animation from the beginning of cutscenes where your car pulls up to the location. Possible you have something to do with the dealer. 0:39 that mile high club building which we see several times obviously plays a big role in the game. IT does NOT exist in real life LA. So anything can happen to it. perhaps it goes through different stages of development? 0:41 I dont care what you say, that guy is NOT wearing an ear piece. Could be guy narrating. At least he is the only guy in trailer who fits the bill. 0:42 we see an agricultural plantation. That hasn't existed before in any rockstar game and could be a big part of this one. With different crops of different formations, people working those crops, big machines working those crops, owners, side missions to work the crops, crop dust the crops? Speaking of which we can fly a crop duster this time that sprays a chemical which makes people sick. That can lead to a whole lot of things, eliminating people with a deadly chemical put in canister? spraying smoke on a road causing accidents? Workers are all working slightly differently on the crop, yes they are all wearing different clothing. Good detail work. Baskets for picking fruit or whatnot? Plane also kicks up dust and leaves from flying low. Also look at all those birds flying out of bushes around the plane. Also different reactions of coughing from all the workers. Obviously r has gone over everyones heads regarding people animations and variations on the same movements from different people. 0:46 we can now wear gas masks. Meaning there will be gas we can use from now on of different kinds. Leading me to think that will also be used in the crop dusters. Guy has a silenced rifle. Cool new silenced assault rifle! Same guy as in the previous scene as you can tell by grey strands of hair. Again, most likely one of playable characters. Also if that IS the narrator: obviously he hasn't gone far from his "profession" and is doing criminal ops again...Also the scene is most likely at the grove in Los Angeles, a real location. I don't know the rules of the forum for links so if you want to check it out just google the grove LA in google images. People carried in back of van leads me to several ideas. you can probably carry "homies" in your van, or whoever is your crew. It also probably shows itself in illegal immigration in the game. With possible missions dealing with people smuggling across border, or into parts of the city. 0:49 bmw look alike. Driver is same middle aged white man as in previous scenes. Camera is of in game footage. This is a second playable character in my opinion. 0:51 cranes make an apperance. And not the first time. Obviously a lot of the game will have to do with the port of LA. Obviously we'll be able to do those crane things like in San Andreas, very likely other things as well. Crates, automobiles, boats, so many things/mini games could be thought of there. We see birds sweeping low. Obviously we can kill them now as in rdr. 0:51 ghetto scene. Check out how people are sitting in that open top wrangler. It's also most likely a car with a customizable roof you can put up or down. Also some of the cars in the background look like top end vehicles. 0:53 you can see the same jeep in different variations. Covered and uncovered. People sitting in car but not on seats but on the sides of it. Also we see the same sport car as was in the scene before where the guy gassed the vehicle and made the girl turn around. They all have same rims as the car in the first scene making me think that rims might not be customizable. (Please don't let it be so Rockstar!) 0:54 look at how super detailed that postal truck is! You can even make out the writing on the tire! Also here's an awesome thing I found from doing a little research. The number on the foreclosure sign? 555-0101. When googled it leads to this bit of trivia: "This phone number has been used to transfer security details to a terrorist bomb maker in Casino Royale film." 0:57 that car looks like the audi rs8 convertible. Exactly. Are you guys noticing how many lux cars are in this trailer? I have a feeling there will be a lot more high end cars in this game than before. Also the car jumps up after going down a bridge onto a flat road. Interesting car reaction... 0:58: building on left: westin bonaventure. That is an awesome building with a circular bike track suspended many stories in the air and a rotating lounge on the top floor. 1:03 look at the plane trails in the sky. Definitely new. Check out the glow of moving car lights in the background. You can see even vehicles very very far away! 1:04 this is same car as in scenes before with guy lowering roof and following ghetto scene BUT it has different colored rims. The first scenes where black and these are white. 1:06 scene is from a cutscene. The black male might not be a playable character. All 3 policemen move differently! Black male moves similarly to policeman in middle. 1:10 plane starts making trail only after you hear the sound of the engines. Houzer says that the game will focus on pursuit of money? I believe it will features several npcs in different stages of life and financial stability and wealth. The older white male is probably one that starts of richer than other playable characters as he says he bought a big house and wants to start a family. Also I bet none of the characters or npcs move the same or make the same gestures. A much more complicated system that was introduced in LA Noire of motion detection. Didn't someone say that they will use whole body scans now? So potentially EVERYONE will move and act and their faces will move differently! Correction on some previous statements, if you really listen to what the narrator is saying and see whats going on as he's saying it it becomes crystal clear the narrator is the man who we see from behind turning around, and he is the guy who is dressed in red with an assault rifle. "I thought I would be a good guy... but well, you know how it is..." at this point we see him with the gun near the van.
