  1. If you base it on critical reception and not style, content, and atmosphere, then sure, you're right. My analogy is valid. Pretty much what I was about to post. Tarantino films are highly stylised and purposefully OTT (ala Saints Row) in tone whereas Scorsese films are more subtle and gritty (GTA). Seems a fair analogy to me.
  2. I voted for the Glock, Beretta and Deagle. 99% sure at least two of these guns will be in the game.
  3. I don't need to hide behind anything mate. Plus there's nothing wrong with having a pet that's brave and will defend you with it's life ( Unlike Rats ). Well, your previous post was pretty stereotypical of owners of certain dog breeds, so was mine.
  4. Whereas if you hide behind a big dog, you're tough, right? Some people prefer animals to be pets....

    Fallout

^This. My first playthrough of Fallout 3 I pretty much stuck with the hunting rifle, not the most powerful of guns but there's just something about it I like. Plus, there's always a ready supply of them for repairs.
  6. I was dissapointed that you couldn't use the numbers on billboards etc. to ring up and buy property in IV, would add a little bit of immersion to the game and a use for the mobile phone rather than just receiving missions.

Everything I've read suggests 10 - 12 hours at a rush, but there is supposed to be a lot of detail in the game world so it should be quite easy to at least double that. There is also the possibility of replaying the game to explore different choices, as Stoic said. *Edit* Just got this on Steam, loving it so far. The controls are fairly intuitive and the combat feels nice and fluid, and while not strictly open world, it is open enough to provide multiple pathways to objectives. The environments are beautifully drawn, it feels kind of like playing in the concept art on the loading screens on GTA. So far, I have seen lots of notes, books etc. lying around, so it would seem there is a fair bit of lore to be had for those that are interested in that sort of thing. I think there is definately more than five hours in this game, it's not like you're on rails and being propelled to the end of the level all the time like CoD. I spent an hour getting through the intro and first mission.
  8. Especially when you think you've uninstalled it, but some of the files are still there. You walk through a dungeon you've been through a dozen times before, turn a corner expecting to face a giant frostbite spider and end up getting pwned by a winged goat/man/thing.
  9. I don't care about having the best armour. I like to RP simple characters like hunters etcetera who get by on the land. I mostly stick to fur/hide/studded armour and iron/steel weapons. As a bonus, it makes the game a bit more challenging at later levels.
  10. *Sigh* I'm sorry, I assumed bold, underlined text would be easy to pick out for you. Apparently I overestimated your intelligence. Here we go, for added clarity you said: My quote said: It is NOT a "ragdolling engine," it is a physics engine...
  11. Okay, genius, ever heard of Newton's third law of motion? Look it up.
  12. Now you can sleep through the whole thing? I might just get this now I know it won't set me back my life savings.
  13. Well sure, like I said it's alright for those who can afford it. But if you're at all conscious about budget, and you're not into video editing there is absolutely no benefit over an i5. Why not save a bit of money?
  14. Pretty entertaining video mate, well done.
  15. So I can sit in it and pretend to be a fisherman, making splishy-splashy noises and imagining a huge shark in the water that might eat me if I fell in. My Argonian fisherman/hunter catches fish with his teeth. He laughs in the face of danger whether that be sharks or slaughterfish.
  16. Games, on the whole, are not yet optimised for multiple threads, and most games don't even utilise all four of the i5's cores. An i7 might be nice for those who can afford it, or do a lot of rendering tasks, but it is a bit overkill for gaming.
  17. I've owned both. I prefer the PS3 mainly because I would rather do my gaming on PC anyway, and PS3 has more uses aside from gaming.
  18. I know, quite a bit of the "new" Dawnguard content seems to have been directly inspired by mods too. I think that this is just a stop gap between main DLC packs given how close the release dates are, I hope so anyway.
  19. "Hearthfire" DLC has been announced for Skyrim. It will be available for download on Xbox live on September 4th and presumably a month or so after that for PS3 and PC. Source
  20. I only got internet in about 2002, something like that, so yeah.
  21. If the actual gameplay next gen were to look even close to some of these tech demos and still be able to run at decent framerates, I would still be quite impressed. I still like the look of last year's Unreal engine tech demo:
