More of a custom sandbox game? Or game-type?
Zevio replied to Bean3896's topic in GTA 5 Pre-Release Discussion (Closed)
Okay I'll admit, at first this sounded like a horrible, horrible idea... but.... when i think about it, it does seem to be a decent idea, i think. The thing i would strongly be against is if R* incorporated it into the normal single player. Thats not what GTA is about and I wouldn't want that changed. The only way i would consider it, is if it was separate to the normal single player. So something like a feature in the start menu called: "challenge mode" and was completely unrelated to the GTA story in every way. Once you go into challenge mode you could maybe create your character, (like GTA4 multiplayer) pick a mode and choose your settings with a big variety of settings to tweak. So for example, choose a challenge called 'hunt-down' where you are asked to find and chase down a target and given only a general area of their location (like how you search for the rare animals in RDR with a big circle on the whereabouts, but still a challenge) you are given an exact description (car, clothes etc) and you have to find and kill them. Maybe tweak settings so that other A.I. controlled characters with guns are also hunting them down and you need to find them first?? Maybe have A.I hunting you down too? Another challenge could be called 'Targeted' where you are a target and you have to get from point A to B, but there are, say... 10 (or however many you set) highly trained hitmen with snipers on the top of rooftops between the 2 points on the look out for you. You need to use your head to figure out how to pass them alive, by stealth or by speed (lol) (those are just 2 random challenges I thought up, but you get the idea..) lol challenges could be endless, especially with the big variety of settings you could tweak; How many people against, what transport used, guns, location, teams, game modes, aggression level of A.I, even set it to a horde mode type of challenge? All peds hunt you down with knives etc etc. Could be used with offline multiplayer too?? This is very doubtful that it would be incorporated, especially in GTA V, but it does have backbone to be a good feature one day, possibly -
Yeah GTA 4's water looked and felt kinda like jelly, especially the splash and ripple effects. GTA V's water looks great so id expect greatly improved swimming physics. If they were to let us dive under, then it will probably look pretty basic due to game size but that'd be fine with me I hope we can swim faster than in GTA 4. Maybe even the ability to change swimming techniques for more speed /swimming backwards (back stroke) etc. What about learning new swimming techniques through out the game? New techniques allow faster swimming? Maybe too pointless, but just throwing it out there

What are you looking for in GTA5?

A grab feature, for example; -Grab peds, throw them etc. -Grab moving vehicles (from the truck screen, could be possible) -Grab random shit like chairs, cash registers, trash cans etc. (All throw-able too) -Grab things on walls to climb simple things. (Grab onto a window, to an above window to get on to a roof etc.) You get the idea, feel free to add more grab ideas Also, I want to pick up dead bodies, also drag them. Dump bodies in the boot/trunk of a car. And even tie up an alive ped, and put him in the boot/trunk -
Of course R* won't ignore the Ghettos in LS in GTAV, but I don't expect it to dominate the story or the game. There will be missions that incorporate gangs from time to time I am sure. Also, R* like to give a little nod to previous GTAs in some way or another, so considering this GTA is set in some of the same places as SA, (although, different layout and size) that could be their way of showing it in a few missions.) Also a Ghetto story DLC is probable in my opinion

GTA V. Why it's October 2012!!
Zevio replied to Caolan Mc Garry's topic in GTA 5 Pre-Release Discussion (Closed)
This is spreading around on twitter, supposedly this was uploaded to the official GTA site then taken down straight away. It shows a release date the bottom "Q4 2012" That would mean we're looking at a 2012 release date Here's a link to a short article about it: http://g3ar.co.za/2012/09/06/did-rockstar-just-reveal-their-gtav-release-date-by-accident/ Think it's legit???? -
I just hope they allow us to have at least 1 big mansion with big garages at some point in the game. I really hope R* learned from gta4's terrible safe house system....

I really would like to have the ability to climb. Sounds simple but, imagine if our character has the skill to climb things well (Im not talking Assassin's creed level climbing ability here) But, just a slightly above basic ability, which also brings with it the ability to free run. I think it will take being chased by cops on foot to a new exciting level. The climbing abilities in GTA games have felt stiff at basic. SA was heading in the right direction but gta4 went backwards imo. (Niko just felt slow and tired, and couldn't climb things well) The free running and climbing skills could be "learned" in game as a new skill. Just like how you could learn new fighting moves in SA. (possibly learning the skills over time so you eventually get better at it.) To me, this wouldn't be a far fetched idea at all. Of course, I'm not saying with should become super skilled at climbing, like climbing massive cliffs or skyscrapers and with just bare hands and without ropes. (Although, that would be pretty sweet) It would just be another cool way of getting around. Climbing things and free running over the tops of rooftops etc. I think the screen shot of the "latino looking guy" hanging onto the moving truck looks promising for this idea. I want to feel like my character is agile and athletic. (of course if the Ned Luke guy is the protag, then this idea will seem fucking stupid) haha! Just putting it out there -
I wish we could an answer to this question, and soon! The next trailer has got to reveal the protag surely? I can't see them keeping us guessing even after the next trailer. It will be torture.

First thing I'll do is complete any initial mission, maybe do the next few missions after it to get a good setting of the game and who my character is - also to unlock the stuff that gets introduced to you in the first few missions. Then I'll go for walk through some of the streets, kinda act as a ped, take in the surroundings, try out the features like running, jumping to see how it has changed. Look at other peds to see how they act. (I want to see if I'll be able to interact with them at all.) Then I'll look for a decent car, jack it (the car, that is... lulz ) Then slowly drive and pick up speed slowly... but not like a crazed mofo just yet, just enough to test the handling and every now and again put the power down I'll use the car to take in the surroundings, maybe look for grove street if its still there and eventually park up somewhere, pick a ped as my target... get out the car and follow him on foot before i decide strike and beat him to a fucking pulp Hopefully get a wanted. (If i don't ill just beat some more peds ^^) Get a nice cop chase going on, on foot. See if i can climb some shit like a free running boss (Please R*!) then decide to fight the law... with my fists. Leave the cop on the floor clutching his balls, jack another ride then get into a proper cop chase and try out some true speed Then.... whatever happens from there A pretty general plan tbh. -

Looking at this pic, (Infernus screen) do you think that now police helicopters have more advanced AI? Seems to be flying low maybe to allow the shooter to have a better aim...? (sorry if the image isn't in the post - I'm new here ) EDIT: Um yeah the image wasn't in the post... removed the link Would someone like to tell a forum noob how to include images into posts? Great editing! If you look at the boots of the guy hanging from the truck, you'll notice that they appear to be the same boots as the "dark skinned tattooed guy" running from the cops in the trailer at 1:06, but the guy from the screenshot does look a little more stocky. But if body building is a feature in the game than that could still be the same guy possibly..? Just a thought- 198 replies

Hi all, First ever post on here With all these rocky mountains, and buildings in general, do you think there will be any climbing abilities on our character? (If its the Ned luke guy, I can't see it, but, maybe as the other guy? or if we play as more than one, maybe different abilities or skills for the different characters?) Would love to see some free running and/or climbing skills. Possible even learning those skills in game. (like working out gives you muscle over time in SA) Just a thought
