Did we have to submit a black and white photo? I found out it had to be similar to passport photo after I submitted this: I didn't submit again since when I checked the rules I saw I didn't qualify as I'm not a resident of any of the countries listed.

How realistic should GTA V be?
DozyGamer replied to Caolan Mc Garry's topic in GTA 5 Pre-Release Discussion (Closed)
I wouldn't mind limiting the amount of weapons we could carry as any player, if they introduced the ability to store weapons in our safe-house. I just feel like it would be great if we had some heads-up of what sort of mission we'd be getting into before shit goes down? I just found it hilariously absurd how Niko receives a text from Packie to show up at his place in a suit and proper shoes for something he's planning with his brothers, and when you get there Niko casually agrees to join them for a bank heist! At least in SA, the casino heist mission was the culmination of many smaller missions that set it up, and the same could be said about the bank job in Vice City. I'd like to choose what to wear, what weapons to bring, and what car to drive for most missions, heist or assassination or whatever. This could be solved with a system where you would go to your contact and get a brief of what they expect you to do. The mission wouldn't start until you called your contact to discreetly inform him/her that you are about to begin when you are ready; saying something like: "I'm about to start cooking" or "Somebody gonna get pregnant." It could give a good advantage to start the mission from anywhere, and if that's too problematic then maybe begin the mission from a convenient point in the map that you must place the call from. Another advantage of this is the ability to case your potential target location and come up with your own strategy on how to carry out the mission. One of the greatest moments I've had in the entire GTA series was when we had to assassinate Salvatore Leone as he was leaving Luigi's club in GTA III. The only instructions you got were; Sal leaves in XX time, so don't get spotted in front of the club before then. Initially I thought I would park half a block from the club and wait until he left to try to run him over. Unfortunately he made it to his car and I had to ram and shoot his car off the road, and I remember that it was a very hard mission that took me a couple of tries. In another play-through I remembered there were stairs in a back alley that lead to the roof of the building across the street from the club and proceeded to climb up to the roof. There was a small window of opportunity for me to blow off Salvatore's head with a sniper rifle before he got in his car, and that made what was once such a difficult mission an incredibly easy one. I'm not saying I dislike any kind of challenge, but I would like to be rewarded for being clever (cramming all night for a final and getting a B+, is nowhere near as satisfying as cheating your ass off and getting an A). It's much more realistic and a lot more fun to give us some kind of control on how to carry out our missions. -
Thank you kind sir, 7 lost years in college would do that.

Thanks Dup, great find! It is absolutely plausible considering Kojima is mad genius who has done an absolutely brilliant job of building hype through mass confusion. I must admit though, I'm a sucker for these kinds of theatrics.

Sure, why not; this is all speculation after-all. Hell it could even be a big old lot that you can save anything on (cars, helis, or whatever) I really hope you meant me when you said professor. As the underachieving fuck-up of my family, I really like the idea of being compared to a man of intellect. If that's what you even meant. I was in university for almost 7 years hoping from major to major, until I found out I had enough credits to graduate with a management degree. Congrats on your 200th post, I hope it's all you imagined it would be.

Almost started my first topic, before adhering to the word of the almighty Mods (many praises upon them) and using the divine search function to find this thread. It seems it hasn't been updated since the great revelation of the 3 protagonists prophesied in the holy GI scripture.... Sorry for my half-assed attempt at humor but it's 3:30am here and I'm drunk off the lack of sleep and all out of awful pseudo-religious metaphors. Anyway since we now know about the trio, I was wondering if they might have a common safehouse they use as a base of operations. Perhaps a place that could store several vehicles and have a helipad to store a helicopter. It would be cool to use as a way to choose a vehicle, disguise (and hopefully) an assortment of stored armaments for the heists and different missions we would be carrying out. Maybe there could be two of these, one in an industrial area on the outskirts of Los Santos, and an airstrip out in the desert. I would also like to add that while we know we would not be able to purchase property, but maybe some safehouses could be unlocked for the different protags as the game progresses similar to unlocking them for Niko in IV. I'm writing this now, because I come up with inspirational bullshit and assumptions when I'm this tired and I know I'll forget this shit in the morning. I just hope this post is still relevant when I log back in from the office tomorrow morning and I didn't accidentally post this in the wrong thread or something. G'night.

Money (and things to buy with it)
DozyGamer replied to Samurai_tbag's topic in GTA 5 Pre-Release Discussion (Closed)
I don't think we have to rule out changing where the protagonists live just yet. Just because we can't buy property, it doesn't mean we can't unlock safe-houses as the game progresses like with Niko in IV. Michael lives in a big house and Trevor doesn't seem like the type of guy who cares about living lavishly, but Franklin is trying to move up in the world. Maybe he will get a nicer place as the story progresses. Or who knows, what if something happens to their homes in the game, like in IV when Niko and Roman lost their shitty hove beach apartment. -
This is the most recent pic I have of myself. I took this photo a couple of weeks ago after finding my dad's old Motorola Micro-Tac while helping out with a bit of spring cleaning.

Theme Parks, Rides and Attractions
DozyGamer replied to Bronson's topic in GTA 5 Pre-Release Discussion (Closed)
Closed, decrepit theme parks have a cool eerie feel to them, they're not all bad. Though I would like there to be a working theme park in a GTA game. They kept talking about the Glory Hole theme park in SA, but it wasn't physically there (unless somebody found it, please correct me). There's a lot of cool stuff they could do with a theme park as well, similar to the plot of Beverly Hills Cop III that had to do with a counterfeit operation being run inside of a theme park. -
I'll be honest my first live action catwoman was Michelle Pfieffer, and she was my favorite until Anne Hathaway. Hathaway just seemed like the most realistically confident and uninhibited of the catwomen I've watched anyway. Generally speaking, the Christopher Nolan Batman movies are my favorite live action iteration of Batman.

Social Network in GTA 5?
DozyGamer replied to alex1127's topic in GTA 5 Pre-Release Discussion (Closed)
I like the idea if it was mostly a parody. It would be nice if you would see different characters in the game on the social network posting idiotic status's and random photos as the game progresses similar to how some websites would update their content in IV. It could even be different for each protagonist and their group of friends and acquaintances, for example: Micheal's feed would feature slutty photos of his daughter doing a duckface and his son quoting idiotic rap lyrics. Franklin would have barely literate ghetto friends that dropped out of pre-school to sell crack and "taip gagnstaaa shet lyck dissss" (type gangster shit like this) and his Armenian employers posting pics of expensive cars with a sales pitch along the line: "you buy know at once awesome price lenient financing look like boss man no credit no problem." I honestly don't see Trevor using a social network though. It could also replace the email system that was in IV so that the minute you're online, you would have a chat window open up to talk to some character. I'd also like to add that it would be nice if you could store captured photos from your in game phone on the social network, since in IV you couldn't really save photos you took in the game like you could in SA. These photos could also be uploaded to your R* Social club account if you're connected to the internet.- 20 replies

GTA V Story Predictions/Influences
DozyGamer replied to DuPz0r's topic in GTA 5 Pre-Release Discussion (Closed)
I'd predict that Micheal would be getting back to his criminal life after being forced by the FIB if he wants to keep his cushy Witness Protection deal that was mentioned in the previews. It would be similar to what happened with John Marston in RDR when federal agents took his family away and forced him to turn on his old gang. Unlike Marston, it seems Micheal hates his wife and is disappointed by his slutty daughter and pot-head son so targeting his fortune would be what they would do. I can't see why the FIB would need to have some criminals pulling off elaborate heists, but I'm pretty sure R* have cooked up something good. There could be several other groups (gang-bangers, the mob, Dixie Mafia type Redneck gang) that use the trio to pull off jobs for them, pressuring them to do their bidding in return for assistance in the protagonists overall goals (similar to Marston having to help the Marshal of Armadillo before he would help him go after Bill Williamson). I'd hope that all these groups pulling strings for the trio sometimes offer jobs for one or two of our protags and often have them try to turn on each other. Also I'm curious to see how Trevor agrees to work with Micheal, given that they've worked together in the past and Micheal turned snitch. In fact, the only person I can see being motivated by money and drawing out a criminal career path would be Franklin, so I'm really very excited to see what Micheal and Trevor's motivations are and how they are related to "the pursuit of the almighty dollar." This is my prediction for the premise of the game based on what little info we have about the plot anyway. -
Money (and things to buy with it)
DozyGamer replied to Samurai_tbag's topic in GTA 5 Pre-Release Discussion (Closed)
There was an Ammu-Nation website in GTA: Chinatown Wars where you could buy weapons and ammo, so it's totally plausible and would be pretty awesome as well. Though I'd imagine the money would affect the relationships between the three protagonists in addition to what the player could buy with it. In the game informer article, there was a line about one of the advantages of multiple protags was that you would get to play as your own antagonist (or something like that). Anyway I'd imagine it would be similar to how Niko, Johnny, and Luis often found themselves on different sides of some confrontations like in the botched Museum deal in IV. With the heists in GTA V, it could be that one or two of the protags would get screwed out of some of the money by the other(s), possibly by the player's choice. It may seem unreasonable since they will be working together throughout most of the game, but I suspect that they are working together more out of necessity rather than volition (especially after Michael's sarcastic tone when introducing Franklin to Trevor in the second trailer). -
Garages and Car Saveability
DozyGamer replied to Ace Of Spades's topic in GTA 5 Pre-Release Discussion (Closed)
I'm with fanman with storing boats, especially after seeing the submarine screenshot. They can make mooring the ship to a dock similar to hitching your horse in RDR. I've always wanted a boathouse in GTA to be used as a mobile safehouse. Maybe even a mega yacht like the one in TBOGT, that would be able to store cars. Now that I think about it; it would be sweet if you could hitch Trevor's trailer to his Bhodi and park it wherever you can. If we could do that, I'd park my trailer on Michael's Tennis court XD -
That's a good idea. I'd also like it if you could hire a limo, luxury sedan, or SUV. There was an ad in the in game TV for a limo service in GTA IV, but alas that option was not there.

That sounds a lot like Alpha Protocol, Obsedian's spy RPG that was mediocre at best. It came out a year later and sounds very similar where your Agent could be "suave" like James Bond or a neck-snapping ninja like Jason Borne or a gun totting lunatic like Jack Bauer. Here's a quote from wikipedia regarding the game: "Alpha Protocol features numerous characters with whom to interact. Conversations occur in real-time, giving the player a limited amount of time to respond at key "decision points" during dialogue.[6] The dialog system in the game - known as the "DSS" or Dialogue Stance system[7] - allows the player to choose from three different attitudes, or "stances," when speaking to an NPC. Obsidian has said that these options are based on the personalities of the "three J.B.'s": Jason Bourne of The Bourne Identity novels and films, James Bond of the eponymous film and book series, and Jack Bauer of the television series 24, although the game itself does not use these names. During dialog sequences, the player will be able to choose from options like "professional" (Jason Bourne), "suave" (James Bond), and "aggressive" (Jack Bauer), sometimes with a brief description of the dialogue choice (such as "sarcastic") taking the place of the general stance. A fourth, "special" dialogue choice is also sometimes available." (Note: while it may seem that this is only regarding the dialogue, anybody who's played the game would see that there were skills needed to upgrade that focused on gadgets (Bond), martial arts (Bourne), and guns (Bauer).) While this probably isn't the same game as the one Bioware was working on, they seem eerily similar. Either way I doubt it was Rockstar's Agent, since the discription of Bioware's spy RPG doesn't seem to mention the era it was meant to be set in, which seems to play an important role in Rockstar's game. Also since this thread has been quiet for the past couple of months (or since the announcment of the PS4), isn't it likely that Agent has been moved to next-gen consoles?
