GTA V Trailer + Breakdown
ViceMan replied to Grizzly's topic in GTA 5 Pre-Release Discussion (Closed)
The capitalist pig-dogs of Gamespot attempt to break down the trailer and in the process do nothing but state the obvious, they didn't reference any of the things in the trailer such as bikes, the dog, etc. But they did mention TOMMY VERCETTI!!1! -

Fly around in a plane, run from the law, go nuts, if there are animals watch the cops get attacked by them. I dunno. The city will be large enough and have plenty to do by the looks of it, if you don't like the country stay in the city and parachute from the tops of buildings. -

Really? How do we know that fo' sho'? "Re-imagined, present day Southern California." It doesn't specifically say Los Santos there, so we may see more. And we now know it takes place in 2012. Because of that. -

We may see them in the ghettos of LS. But they probably won't have a prominent role in the storyline this time unlike SA.- 776 replies

I'm the opposite, I think SA had a nice balance of city to countryside, in fact the city to countryside ratio was probably 1:3. I loved exploring the wilderness. RDR was the same but you couldn't fly a jet plane in that. -

Let me try to ease the pain for those thinking it's only LS. It says "heads to" meaning all of it may not take place in LS. If it's the "largest and most ambitious game Rockstar has yet created" then the map (not necessarily the city) must be bigger than that of GTA IV's and RDR's (i'm not sure how large RDR's map is compared to GTA IV though.) "Re-imagined, present day Southern California." It doesn't specifically say Los Santos there, so we may see more. And we now know it takes place in 2012. Just trying to get your hopes back up so they can be shattered again at a later date. -

The young guy in the blue car looks quite muscley. Whether he's the protag or not is another matter. -

I'm happy with my date, i'm not that competitive. I think the initial choice should be final. -

Firstly it's R* themselves saying it's only LS. Secondly you don't know how large the map is from the few shots we have of it, it's hard to judge but i'd say the city is around the same size as LC. Sure it's not the same vertically as LA is more of a sprawl that the compacted NY. And finally it could just be R* throwing us off the scent, but that's not normally their style. They usually remain tight-lipped about it until they release a new trailer. -

But the point i'm trying to make is that it would be entirely pointless for them to model, animate and texture a dog for the sake of one (or maybe more) cutscenes, if it's in a cutscene then its model and textures are in the game files and just taking up space. Past GTA trailers haven't included any animals whatsoever except the odd bird. And we know R* are very careful with what they let be known. -

Get a screencap of that, because I checked it myself and it's actually the same one as behind the vehicle on the kerb. Unless i'm looking in the wrong place. -

Then why would they include a dog for that matter? If it's not in the game it shouldn't be in the trailer. Also does anyone want to speculate on the multiple (well two) 2405 references, I did so in another topic. -
For being a corporate, money-grabbing enterprise who doesn't hold the public's best interests to hand. That'll do.

The Banshee in GTA IV was a Dodge Viper, the Corvette was the Coquette. Looks more like a returning Phoenix to me, whatever American car that's based on. GTA wikia says the Phoenix was based on the Firebird, which would make sense as the Phoenix was a mythological bird that rose from fire.- 776 replies

That's what i've been saying, it looks too vast to be climbable. But then again we didn't have planes in RDR (well we had one plane) to fly over the land borders, and invisible walls around the map aren't really R*s style. -

I've been playing it since the original Grand Theft Auto was released, and before that I played Lemmings, another of DMA's games. So nuh. However there are a few references to 24 05 in the trailer as has been noted before; on the kerb at 0:54, and the trailer music was released on the 24th of May 1968. Of course 24/05 is the British way of saying it, if it were American it'd be 05/24. But Rockstar North are Scottish so that's easily explained. I actually hope it is May so it's less of a wait, even though I voted for October. -

Would now be a good time to revisit the police database website in GTA IV to see if there are any clues as to characters? There were a few on there from LS, SF, etc. -

Why would R* reveal everything about the game in the first trailer? It's not their style. I don't see why they'd put a dog in the trailer if it's not going to be in the game, seems a bit pointless. There is one just before at 0:53, in the background below the O, again I don't think it has a front wheel. This isn't a good sign, both bikes are missing front wheels making it seem as if it's just a prop rather than a vehicle. But we shall see. Has anyone began work on trying to link the city together from the shots we have of it to build up a rough map of the city? -
What are you looking for in GTA5?
ViceMan replied to Qdeathstar's topic in GTA 5 Pre-Release Discussion (Closed)
I don't think so, we had Bigfoot in RDR literally a year ago. If GTA V did have a fantasy zombie DLC pack then maybe. Come to think of it that would be quite epic, like Carmageddon 2012. -

And also watch out for QD when he's wearing his leather peek-a-boo bra, it means it's mating season... Come to think of it he's always wearing that damn bra.
