  1. Looking at the light direction, there's a possibility that it's meant to be a wing light, but they forgot to actually light the light... The thing with game engines is, you have to light the light - normally with an emissive texture, and then light the surrounding meshes individually using baked light maps - in most cases. There is real-time lighting, but they save that for the sun/moon daylight systems. Obviously it could be something else lighting the wing, like a light on the tip of a skyscraper, but judging by the strength of the light, that's my guess...

  7. There will be dozens of screenshots out when the game is released. Chances are some of them will have a car in the frame. Yeah almost every screenshot will have a vehicle of some sort in it somewhere, it's Grand Theft Auto lol. But i do want to see some more screenshots of countryside and maybe villages not just city shots.
  8. That has to be the same guy from the trailer... the face shape and hairline is uncanny. The suit is the same too, top button undone, and no tie by the looks of it.
  9. Nice screens, but again they'er all clearly in the same areas. I wonder if they're saving the best for later or if they haven't quite reached the point in development that we are thinking.... Either way, i'm glad they're actually rolling out more visual candy for us to salivate over. I do love the new Cheeta model.
  10. From what i remember it was always the Swiss that ruled the rooster in Counter Strike. BTW DiO and anyone else playing this on PC. When you first play, make sure you go to advanced video settings and whack everything up including ansitropic anti-aliasing and multi-sampling(if your PC can handle it of course). Oh and turn on motion blur. It looks really polished then! I dunno why it wasn't on by default for me, i have a perfectly capable rig.

  13. I've heard that the PC version looks quite a lot better than the consoles one, They released a HD texture pack dlc on the release for PC. I've only heard this though, I've not found out for my self.
  14. This wont be the last GTA. It may well be the last on current generation consoles. But GTA is a household name, and they're not going to stop now... SA did feel small eventually, because in all honesty, it was way out of proportion, and the cities were too close together. That was the best they could do back then, i'm sure there is a way they will optimize GTA V's map to allow more of a playground for us to play in. RDR has proven this.
  15. *Ignores spoiler box* I'm not reading that lol Ice was right I found out that we'll be getting 8 episodes now and 8 episodes in 2013. Kind of annoying, especially if it is the final season, as there will be nothing to wait for, meaning the mid-season gap was inappropriate. They usually do those to shorten the gap between seasons right...? *watches episode 6*
  16. The weapon models look way to small in my opinion. The shotguns look like toy guns, and the M3 looks terrible... £10 where I live can buy you two pints and a large kebab! I live in the same place What's your steam ID? Me and Dio will show you how to have a good time
  17. The game isn't meant to be a CS:3 or anything. They've just enhanced source, and added new textures, and models. But the main thing they wanted to do with GO is make it available to console players as well as PC and allow them to play together. I think the new models and textures look much more detailed. Some of the terrorist models look weird, but it's nothing too extreme. And the game is only £10, so i don't see why you'd think that was a waste?
  18. Yeah 'Gun Game' is pretty fun. Only problem with beta is you only get to play two maps, so it gets boring quickly. Oh well, only two days left until the full game release.

    Sleeping Dogs

    A close friend of mine told me he likes this more than Saints Row the Third. And he loved that game. I'm still going to rent this, as it's a game i think i can compete in about a week if i put in the hours.
  21. I'm not really interested in modding my PS3 games, but i just wanted to see what's possible, if you get me. I do like modding, but i would never do it on my PS3 and risk losing my account or anything like that. Thanks anyway ConQ, i'll have a look.
  22. My steam id is < here Also, the beta comes free when you buy in advance - is what i meant. i payed for it just now and downloaded the beta. Steam's doing a 10% discount on it that's why i decided to buy it today.
  23. I just bought this in advance on steam. I rarely play PC games through steam, but i'm willing to try this, for only £10 atm too. It's released in like 3 days, but you get to play the beta until the release anyway...
  24. Maybe. It's hard to tell, because real-time and rendered look quite different, because of the technique used to make them both. Games run at 30 to 40 frames per second. Rendering can take 1-2 hours per single frame to render. It's mostly calculations of light bouncing off objects and stuff, so it's a completely different way to generate 3D objects.
