Who's gonna have a butch at the opening event? See where all the British tax money has gone.

Origin of Uncharted. It's amazing how Naughty Dog have developed over the years... They like sand lol

Yeah it'll be a straight port. I might get it though. I can't play my PS2 games anymore since i got a new PS3.

Grats man. I've almost finished with this game now. I have one challenge to complete, Which is the survival one. So i have to wait around for cell phone calls... And then the Decker district to takeover, and a few collectables and then I'm done.

MegaMan was pretty tough. I always found Ghouls n Ghosts tough and Aliens. It never stopped me playing them though, i managed to complete them each in one sitting. That's how games rolled back then. They felt long because of the repeated attempts, but in reality almost every game that wasn't an RPG back in the 90's could be aced in just a couple of hours. Oh and remember Kid Chemeloen? I loved that game, and that had like 100's of levels, which was brilliant for a platform game. I never played all the levels, because i found a way to shortcut through a secret level to the end like a quarter of the way through. As far as platform games go, i think my favourite has to be Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee & Exoddus. They should totally remake Oddworld, like the first ones, beautiful graphics, but keep it a side-scrolling platform puzzle game. Ubisoft seemed to pull it off brilliantly recently with Rayman.

It's like the freakshow at the fairground. Enhanced Cyborgs!

Here's some open world gameplay.

I once had beef sushi as some sushi bar. I love beef, and i love sushi, but this beef was cold and seared slightly around the edges, and it was tough as old boots, i couldn't eat it...

Paralympic egg and spoon race ftw.

The multiplayer weapons have been re-balanced. I think i'll pop this on today.

It's really quite hot for England today. For some reason i felt like sushi when i woke up. That wasabi packs a punch!

Looks a little rusty around the edges, and I'm not keen on the glowing red objects and guys, but i'm willing to try it out. It's an open world sandbox after all... I'd like to see if there's more to the world before i decide anything though. At the very least this is probably going to be worth a rent.

Oh and i would really love a game based on Dexter. A vigilante serial killer who only kills killers.... Sounds a little bit like manhunt now i come to think of it, but Dexter is awesome!

I keep changing my mind as to which is my favourite over the years... As I mature, so does my memories, and I think I have came to the conclusion that they're all my favourite. Every GTA is an elements of the same game type after all. They're like chapters rather than individual books for example. I know they don't all relate, but that's how I see it anyway. What ever provokes a memory of a GTA game at that time, will probably make that my favourite for a while, and then I'll probably go play it for a bit... Oh how i love GTA.

Mass that's a good point about future style GTA. I think Red Faction tried something like that on Mars, but failed. It wasn't really that much like GTA. For some reason blade runner comes to mind when i think of GTA in the future... Bloody 80's sci-fi's and their terrible technology predictions! R* decided to make a Warriors game. I'd love to see other classic films made into games, or even games inspired by films like: A Clockwork Orange (already mentioned that) Leon (Fully based on the film, the relationship between leon and the girl) Sin City (Nice Noir feel) Quadrophenia (great era, nice setting) Back to the Future (A proper stay-true-to-the-movie third person game) Pirates (maybe not fully based on any one pirate film, but inspired by) Medieval (Not based in any particular film, just a gritty story based in a medieval setting) Also, what would be good, is take some of the worst films of all time, and make them into something decent. Some of the worst films have some of the most bizarre story elements, which could work if executed properly...

Ah that's a shame. I hope there's a way to turn that off, and play it traditionally. This game seems like it'll be fun. Plus it's a game for me and the misses to co-op. Even thought the last resi was a bit of a let down, we still had fun co-op'ing the entire game on every difficulty.

That's not real time btw. It's pre-rendered. Sub Surface scatter is generally used in 3DS Max And Maya (it can be done in realtime, but not that well yet) for light scattering through the skin when rendered. And this video is not next gen mate, it's possible now... Rendering just takes time, not always power like realtime game graphics.

I guess we could do with a decent game tech thread. We're not far off our next generation of gaming now (July 2012). Even though it has only felt like a couple years since the start of this current gen.... When i say gen, i loosely use the term based on the time between console releases and PC hardware jumps. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Is there going to be a big jump between current and next wave of consoles and PC games? Is there no jump? Is it just a slow progression? Have we hit the ceiling in terms of hardware capability? Is there something new in terms of capability for gaming? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Use this space to post tech demos of soon to be released game development software, and discuss some of the questions or something related to what I posted above. Here are a couple of tech demos I found online recently:
