  1. It would be if the girl is seen to be in a mangled condition due to violence. but she isn't. We've cut the trailer in such a way that you don't see any harm to the girl. If the game would be made on the other hand, it would contain some violence. The tutors seem fine with it anyway. Last year there was a group that had a children fps, fighting zombie children, in TDM style. That wasn't approved though.
  2. They had to cut RAM before production due to high costs that they didn't want to pass on to the consumer. But i think it will be around a 1/4 less powerful than the PS3... that's just an estimate though, looking at the specs, and reading from what people have been saying,.
  3. PSN and the store are going to be integrated yes, Trophies and playercards also blend seamlessly between Vita and PS3. I'm not sure if there will GTA games available for it yet though. Unless they announce it in the near future.

  5. I seriously don't wanna see a new console any time soon. Our western economy isn't very strong atm, it would be a stupid time to release a new console for at least another 4-5 years imo... Just saying. And what would a new console do that a PC can't already at the moment. Unless they find a way to makes games look better than the current/new gen PC games, i don't see the point. As long as they don't go down some shitty control-less motion camera console route, I'll stay calm.
  6. It's not a full game as such. It's my final major project at university. I have to make a 1 minute trailer for a game designed by me and my group. We obviously have to design the game type, characters and environments with-in the game, but we'll only be making what is seen in the trailer. The game is called 'Sable' which means sand. The main character is a 12 year old girl also called Sable. It's a third person, survival game. It's set in an alternative version of London, which has been engulfed by sand due to a rapid growth of our Sun. The game is set around 100 years after the Sun event, which is why the city is covered in sand. The Sand covered city was sort of inspired by Egyptian ruins, and a little mining village called Kolmanskop in Namibia. does that answer your question? I'm also working on my showreel at the same time, so this thread will have a mixture of random 3D modelling, texturing and concept art by my self.
  7. Has anyone found themselves over-encumbered with completely useful items, or valuables that they just wont drop, and have fast travelled to the nearest town to sell, and has to wait like 5-minutes just to make it to the shop? I do this regularly.

    As much as i wanted this game, i have to wait until after Christmas, i have too many games to play atm and not enough money. So it just makes sense to play them all in order and then pick this up maybe a little cheaper in the January sales.
  9. Thanks Zen. I made some improvements to the marmoset version (in-game). The normal maps were inverted in the last one, which consequently inverted the lighting on the texture, meaning the light was underneath and the shadows were on top. I had to flip the green channel in photoshop.
  10. I didn't dislike GTA IV at all. Sure it was missing a few bells and whistles, but it was still a satisfying game imo.

  15. I had pretty much the same experience as you did on my pilgrimage up the mountain and up the 7000 steps. Except i did it alone, and i had to run away from the ice troll! For those of you that haven't played this yet, the open word never feels empty. There is always animals, game, mythical creatures roaming around, as well as NPC's on their travels, with their own stories to tell. Tbh, i spend most of my time hunting and stalking things whilst taking in the huge scale environments.
  16. Yeah pretty much been too busy playing it to write anything. I'm gonna go get some sleep in a sec. I have a small story to tell. not much, but funny. I was strolling between some mountains on my way to a mission, and i saw my first giant standing there with his axe on his shoulder. I thought that maybe i can try and take him on with my weapons. Anyway, i sneak up with my bow and arrows, and take a sneaky headshot from the distance. i quickly change to my magic enhanced battle axe and charge in. As i run up the peak, past a large rock i see two more giants running at me with him! The bitch-honky only had is clan on stand-by, ready to gangbang my poor elven arse. They bludgeoned me into a fine paste.
  17. I've updated it a little, put it into game engine, and played with the lighting and post-production tools. The whole building is on one texture sheet, which is good practice.
  18. Cheers. Yeah it's a ruin. I still need to do a lot to it. And i have to show it in a semi-complete state on Tuesday :S. i best hurry lol. The details were hand sculpted in zbrush.

  22. I think this is our guy for sure. I'm not sure if this is definitely our protagonist, but he's the guy in the trailer! It makes sense really. Since the facial mo-cap tech we've seen in R.A.G.E recently (L.A.Noire), they would make the characters based on real people just so the facial expressions look all that much better. I don't think it's gonna be an all out mo-cap like Noire, but i think they're using the same sort of tech for sure.
