RDR2 Mapping [Interiors & Out of Map inc.]

I'm actively posting on reddit and GTA Forums and trust me, we're just as active at this as they are, there's just less of us here which gives us room to think clearly! -

Nice! I had a feeling that place was in Scarlett Meadows but didnt think it would be that close to Rhodes! Nice one spotting the St Name. I havent really looked at the Saint Denis shots in detail, i figured you had them on lock down! -

I've been looking at this shot in detail since yesterday. Is it me or does that rocky formation on the right side of the image, just above the 3-way path split and just below the railway line look kind of like a ranch? Or am i just seeing things?! It's probably nothing just a cliff. I'm looking from my phone right now, so i cant cross reference that part of the map with other images properly, but i'll have a look when i get home and see if i can rule it out. -

Could it be the be the gang camp? I just tried skewing the map to fit that panorama, and kinda crashed photoshop. It was over 4k though. and the skewed leaked map was like 40x larger than the pano. This is far as i got, managed print screen when it crashed! As you can see, i tried lining things up, and i think there's way more land on that side of the world than there is on the old map... Or i just couldnt get the perspective right. -

The 3D terrain map? I've had hardware issues unfortunately, i updated my software, and now my graphics card is outdated. It wont let me roll it back, so i haven't been able to work on it. I tried using Blender, but learning new 3d software takes time, and i don't think i'll be competent enough in time before the real map is out there. I'm building a new PC end of October, so it'll be too late by the time the game comes out. -

Yeah i mean, Bachuss is a good match i thought it was that too. But i like to explore other avenues just incase something interesting comes of it. And i agree stuff has been moved around for sure since the leaked map from 2 years ago. Probably the railway too. -
It's finished! I wonder how much it costs to get that commissioned. 15k? 50k?100k? More?? And the exclusive content begins... https://twitter.com/PlayStation/status/1048211650267029504?s=09 PS 30 day exclusive content! ?

I know TreeFitty already called it, but i decided to go in detail with it, see if i can match it up with the canoe and bear shots somehow. This is how i see the scene anyway. Probably one. I don't like the leaked map, i know it's probably wrong now, and it gives me a headache trying to match stuff to it, but it's our only alternative reference to imagery. -

On the subject of creeks, this rock formation beside this one undoubtedly looks like a tooth. These two shots match up pretty well and the even on the map. Even the little details match up well, like rocks and trees. Oh the details just keep popping out at me! The fire smoke seen in the top scene matches the pile of logs in the bottom scene. -

There's definitely a creek on the way to Cumberland Fall, because we see one in the first trailer. But is it the same creek in two different seasons or two completely different unnamed creeks? -

Oh i know it's Hagen in the back there. I'm just saying it may not be as far as we think. I was looking at the shapes of the terrain carefully, and they kinda match up... I'm not saying it's for definite, just another spanner in the works lol What's your thoughts on that small creek? -

I think this might be the 'Beartooth Beck' we've been looking for? And here's another little theory i have, looking at the map topography. This whole thing is Mt. Hagen... -

I've requested but havent heard anything back yet. I found this pretty interesting seeing the map like that in 4k enhanced. (I dunno how to embed youtube links into thumbnails) https://youtu.be/umZ9UL1wKCo -

But the in-game (minimap) North is 12'noon North so the mapping should be fine! ? -

Am i the only person that never noticed the compass in the corner doesnt face North of the image? Like True North is actually slightly East... http://faqsmedia.ign.com/faqs/image/article/109/1091366/reddr_map_crop.jpg Does that align with those map grids? So I've been mapping all this time and it's not even true North. -

I just saw this and it's just blown my mind a little. I'm not sure if my brain is tricking me into believing it or if it does actually match up! I just went hunting for the highest Res image i could find of the map. I realise it's probably just for show and not accurate. So i'm ignoring the grid and numbers and focusing on the slither of topography. Now we've seen much more of the map since this map image was released, we might have a better understanding of where it could be. -

Yeah i first read that on Reddit. The RDR1 remasterd theory that is. I wouldn't be surprised if they show the opening moments to John before he gets on the train into New Austin right at the end of the game. That would be pretty interesting. See why he REALLY left. -
Now this is cool. New artwork side profiles

Talking about that whole map theory, apparently R* have contacted that Dutch gaming magazine about their "Whole of RDR1 map" statement, and now they've changed it... I'm assuming the way it was worded is that Rockstar Games wanted to keep that bit a surprise so they can reveal that themselves (in-game?), and now they've let the cat out of the bag, R* gave them a kick under the table. http://www.insidegamer.nl/artikel/q-n-a-special-jouw-vragen-beantwoord-na-een-dag-red-redemption-2/?API_COOKIE_REDIRECTED=True
