Would like to see another I-70 Series, but SF has been rolling.

It's close between RZA and GZA. My favorite voice is definitely GZA, though.

Say, how 'bout them Twins?

we were 5 1/2 games up earlier in the week, now KC is only 2 1/2 back... we clearly don't have this wrapped up yet... Like I said, I think it's clearly theirs to lose. They're letting KC hang around and compete with them, but I'd be shocked if they didn't win the division at the very least. In terms of talent, I don't think there's a better team. in the central? true... in MLB? false ... we've got the best rotation in baseball, but our bullpen will be the death of us, and our offense isn't getting enough hits... Right, that's why traditionally the teams with the best OBP are the most successful, since offense is the only true constant in the game and OBP literally translates to with how little frequency you create outs. Detroit is still near the top of the league in OBP, and given their rotation they're probably going to get the most consistency in their pitching.

The Tiggers have the division all but iced at this point by snatching another Cy Young Award winner. They may have the pennant and World Series under control as well; it's definitely theirs to lose at this point.

This was my favorite summer beer from last year. I wish the 12-packs weren't so hard to find/expensive.

No, they do. It just isn't popular like it was back then. Now you have to dig to find quality like this. Same thing for people who loved pop and rock in the 50s, 60s, and early 70s. By the early 80s people were listening to Air Supply and REO Speedwagon. Alternative rock was a revival of the soul in music, in the 80s you had Pixies, Sonic Youth, REM, as well as proto-grungers like Screaming Trees, and Mudhoney. Well, that kind of turned to shit once Creed basically decided they wanted to sound like Stone Temple Pilots, but with power ballads that always seem to have clean guitar intros. You ever notice that when rock bands want to start sucking, they always give you a heads up when they start to incorporate more clean guitar intros? Metallica did it, Opeth did it. Some bands like Staind do it on every song, every album, since the beginning, and that is why rock is dying.

One of the greatest hitters of all time to be sure. His numbers are Cobbesque if you translate them to the early 20th century. Only once in 20 years did he slip below the .300 mark (his rookie year where he had only ~200 at bats), and he still hit .290. RIP Mr. Padre.

So not all chronic "uses" are addicted? Then we agree.

There are plenty of people who never tried to stop drinking alcohol or smoking cigarettes. Just because you don't try try to quit (and therefore don't have withdrawals) doesn't mean your not addicted. "Addiction is the continued repetition of a behavior despite adverse consequences, or a neurological impairment leading to such behaviors" Adverse consequences for someone who smokes every day are at a minimum opportunity cost in terms of the money spent on the weed (unless you grow your own) and what ever the health affects of smoking are (which, ill concede are probably less than cigarettes) Well I didn't say that if you don't try to quit that it doesn't mean you're an addict, I have absolutely no idea where you drew that conclusion but my point was that it doesn't necessarily mean that you're dependent if you use a substance every day. Any definition of addiction is going to imply a need, and you don't necessarily need something if you use it every day. There's a difference between using something every day and using it compulsively, and that's what addiction implies. You aren't a water addict because you drink water every day, you're a water addict if you're drinking it every 20 minutes or something like that. You aren't a sleep addict because you sleep every night, you're a sleep addict if you spend your day thinking about the next time you're going to take a nap. You aren't a marijuana addict because you smoke pot every day, you're a marijuana addict because you always want another rip.

The new song is rock, complete with a wanky guitar solo. I like it. But I fucking loved Heritage so http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_QJjJgptNxs Yeah, I can't think of any way to dress that song up as good man. In the middle of a great album maybe it'll have some sort of context, so I guess I should have held my tongue a little bit because then I heard this today https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-tsp9ItY-g I hope they have more songs on this level.
