Gigs and/or Concerts

Great idea. I'm thinking it should function much like clubs / strip joints do in IV in that you can't enter with a weapon, but you can go on a spree once inside while fighting off security/police. -
Protagonist Predictions?

I'm really, really not understanding the Hispanic thing and why so many people are hearing it. If anything, it sounds Italian-American with somewhat of a Brooklyn/Queens (read Liberty City) accent. -
[NOT] GTA V possible leak
The Invisible Lines replied to thething485's topic in GTA 5 Pre-Release Discussion (Closed)
I've seen better leaks come out of my asshole after eating at Denny's. -
This weekend I had a dream that the second trailer was released, and the first image was the skyline of San Fierro. The "camera" did an overhead shot of the city then sped through the desert showing all kinds of little towns, then lowered to street-level view and, from the distance, Las Venturas appeared. True story :'(

Was never a fan of TLAD (aforementioned bikes, boring storyline, too similar to Vanilla IV), but I loved TBOGT. The story was a lot more interesting, the graphical improvements were slick, it was a departure from IV and TLAD in that it had sillier/more fun elements that reminded me of San Andreas, better weapons, more interesting missions, etc. I think, overall, that's why more people liked it more than TLAD. It's way to early to speculate on V's DLCs. We don't even know the storyline of V, so at this point it's impossible to guess at what additional storylines will be introduced afterward. I'm just hoping there will be a nice mix of the realism of IV with the goofiness of SA. I think there will be, considering the setting. NYC (where I live), while vibrant and very much alive, does not provide nearly as much comical fodder as the vapidness of L.A./Hollywood culture (no offense to the normal people who live there). You can rest assured that the culture there will be lampooned like crazy and we're all going to have quite the laugh. Also, the odd/spooky aspects of the countryside and desert (probably what I'm most excited to explore) provides plenty of opportunities for humor, creepiness, and an altogether antithetical atmosphere from IV.

Gotta admit a part of me has always wanted to see a usable nuke in GTA (however unreasonable and technically far-fetched as that is). There would need to be a caveat, though, considering the massive amount of destruction it would immediately do to the map. For example, if the protag is able to actually witness the explosion, the shock wave would kill him if the actual explosion doesn't. When you respawn, so does whatever area was destroyed. Maybe in such a circumstance R* could add a brief cut-scene after you die showing the devastation so you can appreciate your unspeakable deed, haha. Anyway, that's a pipe dream, but the possibility of having a military base in the desert a la Area 51 would be great and is probable to a degree. I loved the concept of Area 69 in SA, and all of the strange oddities in the desert like The Big Ear and all of the other creepy, secretive things to discover.

I agree, and honestly I'd prefer a career criminal badass type who also has a moral compass. An older protag doesn't bother me in the slightest, and actually having one who is middle-aged but still somewhat agile, an excellent marksman, and criminally intelligent because of experience is a big plus. Think someone like Bruce Willis in the Die Hard films (even though he wasn't a criminal). I'm looking forward to protag banter like "I'm getting to old for this shit," ha.

What are you looking for in GTA5?

A Staples Center replica would actually be really fun. I'd love to bust into some sort of convention and shoot the place up. Interactive enterable environments are one of my favorite things about GTA (the mall in VC, for example). All enterable environments are cool, but when there's actually something going on inside is when things really start getting fun. I'm really hoping for several multi-floor office buildings with actual employees going about their business. And killing them all, obviously. -
Protagonist Predictions?

I like this guy. Will you be our friend? Well, hopefully, given a few months, we'll be recognised as the 'no bullshit' site, and then no one will be in two minds about whether something's true. Ha, happily. 'Tis why I sneaked in here in the first place. Thought it was time for some intelligent banter and speculation, as opposed to "I worked for R* and/or I'm still sprouting my first pubes but somehow know every knowable fact about V." -

I'd reply properly, but I slipped on this gigantic pile of bullshit and hurt my back. -

Hi All, I've been lurking for a while, but this is my first post. I didn't want to start a new thread about an idea I had RE: the protagonist, so I figured this was the best place to post it. Apologies if a similar theory has been previously offered. We already know that the protagonist (or one of them, if the multiple protagonist theory is correct) moved to the Los Santos area to start a new life and "settle down," so to speak. The idea I had was that he has probably acquired considerable wealth assuming the life he's trying to escape from was one embroiled in crime. I'm considering the possibility that, with that wealth, he's become a partner with STD Contractors, the construction company commissioned to build the Mile High Club luxury rentals. My theory is a basic one only based on a couple of vague ideas. The first being that our protagonist has probably only lived in Los Santos for a handful of months, or possibly a year (though I wouldn't think it would be much longer than that). That's approximately the same amount of time one could assume the Mile High Club has been under construction, which would fit into his moving time frame if he is somehow involved. I also thought that the "D" in STD Contractors could possibly stand for De Silva, if that is indeed the protag's last name as some have speculated. This could play well into a property buying theme, and could provide plenty of fodder for the storyline. And who wouldn't want to own a massive suite at the top of the MHC when it's completed? Anyway, just a theory -- not saying I believe it myself, I just thought it was one possibility. Sorry again if this has been proposed already.
