  1. I always heard that late 90's early 00's gm cars were pretty unreliable. A lot of parts (like your brake system) are shit. However, if you have the 3800 (3.8l) v6, youre golden. the 3800 series v6s are pretty hard to kill. They keep going and going. That's why there tends to be so many used Gran Prixs, etc. here in the US, at least in the south and drier climates where rust is typically not an issue.
  2. For autocross, I run 275/40R17 series tires for events that allow, on 17 inch c4 corvette 5 spokes. For regular driving and events that force me to use lesser tires, I just run aftermarket 15 inch chevy rallye wheels, but I can't remember the tire specs off the top of my head, but it is a lot of rubber.
  3. Thats the one beef I have with the el Camino--- no weight over the rear wheels, but I've made do thus far, and I don't think this conversion will affect weight that much, as although I lose the weight of one leaf spring, the one I'm replacing it with is a larger than standard leaf spring, and the amount of solid aluminum parts should make up for the weight of 1 leaf spring, no? I plan for my suspension to be thicker and sturdier than the corvvette's because my truck has all original sheet metal, making it a lot heavier than a vette. Regardless, it's a good reason to move the battery to behind the cab, and to buy an aftermarket fuel tank to place directly over the drive axle.
  4. So, I've started to do a lot of auto crossing in my El Camino, and the stock leaf spring setup isn't cutting it anymore--rear end is wayyyyy too stiff and slides around easily. I am considering transversal leafspring setup, much like a corvette. I know it can be done, but I guess I'm just looking for some opinions/tips. I'm more inclined to install this style suspension because, from what I understand, I can retain the sturdiness of leafsprings, but ditch the overly stiff characteristics on the auto cross course.
  5. Well, I managed not last on the deathmatch. sorry gtagrl . And then I proved to be the only one who didn't completely suck ass at driving in the only other game I could stick around for
  6. Oh yeah, before I forget, was my mic too loud/too quiet? New one, have to go into settings to adjust it, no buttons like the last one
  7. Shit guys, sorry for heading out early, almost forgot about work. Got put on nights this week
  8. dkong40 That's my auxiliary account for forums like this, gtplanet, and operation sports
  9. Just as long as he doesn't fall on his hand and suddenly become paralyzed in that arm again lol
  10. We have that in the design, but the issue is, an engine has to be tuned differently for natural aspiration and forced induction, hence our use of a late-model, fuel injected, computer monitored Pontiac GTO (basically a Holden Monaro). We're working on a computer program that would adjust the valve timing, fuel pump, etc. through the vehicles internal computer to seamlessly and safely transition between natural aspiration and forced induction
  11. I fancy myself a huge Mad Max fan--to the point where my friend and I are working to engineer an electronically controlled, toggle-able supercharger, like the Interceptor. Needless to say, I haven't stopped ejaculating since announcement. It's kinda a problem. I'm getting dehydrated.
  12. I could see him taking a lot of screen passes, all over the field--whether it be lining up as a rb, wideout, or slot receiver, as well as using him as a ball carrier on slot/end around plays. We'll see, he could end up on my fantasy roster if I can get him in a late round, just to keep him benched until I see how his talents will be utilized
  13. Hmmm... Sounds fun. Put me down as a maybe. If I don't show up in time, then I've either forgotten or have been brutally raped and murdered. You'll get a FR from dkong40, that's me
  14. That's what i meant, put him in the Wildcat, he can still throw a pass or two, assuming his hand doesn't spaz out everytime he falls on it next year lol
  15. As screwed up as the Quarterback situation in Jacksonville is, Denard could see at least a little time at qb, even if only in the Wildcat.
  16. I would bet that Pryor has a high chance of turning out like JaMarcus Russel. Who knows, a few years from now, he could weigh 300 pounds and play tackle.
  17. Miller and Martinez are NOT the same quarterbacks. First of all, Martinez can throw. It may not always be pretty, but he still threw for damn near 3000 yards last season, and almost got Kenny Bell to 1000 receiving. Then running style: from what I've seen of Miller, he makes a lot less moves than Martinez, but can break more tackles because he's bigger--he generally just takes off and runs, whereas Martinez typically has to juke out or evade damn near everyone on the field, because he's not big enough to take a lot of hits. For the record, Martinez's high school 40 time is only 0.01 behind Miller's. That comes down to timer, not runner.
  18. Martinez is just as fast as Miller, just a little less muscular, and more elusive. And Martinez hardly fumbled the ball this year, it was mostly that butterfingers (albeit pretty good) running back Abdullah.
  19. You're treading on thin ice, fucker. Sure, they lost their conference championship, but they kept up with Georgia for 3 solid quarters before Aaron Murray pulled a magic wand out of his ass. One game does not a team define. Unless its OSU. Fuck OSU Most of that rant evolved into a point where it was no longer directed at you. Taylor Martinez is twice the passer Miller will ever be. I don't know where you get this Braxton wannabe stuff from. Martinez has been playing college ball before Miller, and actually makes an effort to be a better passer. 2000 yards, lol.
  20. Dude, your football priorities are fucked up. Not all of football is about making an at large BCS bid. Like I said before, with a little luck (and Nebraska completely shitting the bed) even a 7-5 team can make the rise bowl. Jesus Christ, college football has gone from where a winning season is a reason to celebrate, to the point where 1 loss is a reason to give up. The BCS system is fucked up, and until a playoff greater than 4 teams exists, it will continue to be. I wish I say I could remember a time where people could shamelessly cheer for their team, regardless of record. Now everyone is on the Alabama/SEC bandwagon, and I am not even able to post a fucking comment about Nebraska on a Nebraska article without a a dozen "Big 10 sux" or "S-E-C" following comments. Fuck the way college football has become. Fuck bandwagoners. And fuck sports media and fuck the BCS system that leads people to believe that a single loss by their favorite team means the end of all fucking things. /rant Oh yeah, fuck OSU too, because I can.
  21. What's wrong with a 9-3 season in the Big 10? Wisconsin made it to the Rose bowl with a 7-5 regular season record.
  22. It's the constant sodomy at the hands of the rest of the league that does it
