Can't agree more. Cars need to sound like cars, not lawnmowers. Also, since we're in L.A., I think it would be appropriate to see some SoCal 'Hella Flush' style rides. EK Civics, Integras, Preludes, old Datsun 240Zs, 300ZXs, S2000s... that sort of thing. More Jap motors anyway. VTEC, yo. And some American muscle is a given. Camaros, 'Stangs, Impalas, Chargers, Roadrunners, 'Cudas... And some slammed VW stuff would be nice, too. Microbuses, Golfs, Corrados, Caddys etc. I don't think it's the cars I'm looking forward to so much as the car customisation. I hope to god they bring it back. It's one of the features I missed most from San Andreas in IV. -
Them, and the Daily Mail for crap like this. The Daily Mail should be #1 on the list, actually.

Fixed. I've been here since '04. You'd think... IV was partly about trying to get rich as well - and, well... Probably, yeah. Can't hurt to give them some free ideas for next time though. Maybe even if V gets delayed like IV did, they might have time to add a few things and change some binary values to make it more interesting. Really like this idea. You could have several pre-set parking spots outside your safehouse to purchase respawning vehicles for. I rarely ever used my garaged vehicles for anything risky, because they're strictly one-use. -
Just wanted to bring this up for anybody who's interested. This subject has already been mentioned several times in this subforum, but I thought it's worthy of its own topic because it was something that was mentioned in the run-up to GTA IV as well. So here goes. Make it do something, Rockstar! We know you're reading this! By the end of GTA IV (a game supposedly about going from rags to 'slightly better rags') I had over a $1 million sitting at the top of my screen and bugger all to spend it on. You can't buy or customise cars, weapons are handed out during every mission and in every alleyway in the game, and the character customisation options are frustratingly limited. On top of that, it isn't even necessary to eat regularly like it was in San An. The odd $100 Pay 'N' Spray, or bowling game with Roman barely makes a dent in anything. There are a million and a half ways to gain money (missions, side missions, odd jobs, pedestrian whack-a-mole) but honestly once you complete the storyline all the feeling of accomplishment just leaves the game, even for veteran 100% junkies such as myself. One of the great joys for me of a game like True Crime: New York City was collecting your daily pay, and then spending it on a new car or a better pistol, to make your job fighting crime that much easier. Nothing essential, just nice upgrades that make the game more engaging to play; to give you something to aspire to. In the name of absolute freedom, GTA doesn't prevent you from keeping second-hand weapons (like True Crime does), and nor does it prevent you from garaging stolen cars and claiming them as your own. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but GTA always makes such a big deal of the acquisition of wealth, like it's the most important thing in the world - then when you get it, you can't do anything with it. Why spend money if everything's free? This, for me, is one of GTA's great design flaws (there are very few others, I'll admit). I'm not suggesting for a second that Rockstar add anything as mundane or frustratingly limiting as safehouse rent money, or child support (our new protagonist has kids, after all), but something optional that adds direction to the post-100% experience (which is where a lot of us loners spend most of our time in GTA) would be super. Even lowering the amount of money we earn during the course of the game would be a start. What ideas do you guys have on the subject? (Pencils at the ready, R*) Discuss.

I'm no expert, but that looks fairly genuine to me. It's in their style. Also, why bother to go through the trouble of making a (fairly detailed) map and then presenting it in a blurry, screencapped, low-res image unless it's a genuine screencap?

Something I just thought of whilst watching the trailer. Why is there no facial/talking shots? I was expecting to see Rockstar showing off the MotionScan technology used in L.A. Noire that V was rumoured to have, but instead we see nobody talking/emoting at all. Could it be they're not using it, or is it just not ready yet? -

Hey Duffman. Good to see you're still about. Hahaha. But yeah, no sources quoted, I think they're extrapolating. True, but there's not much evidence of any other cities. Their current modus operandi seems to be to focus heavily on just one major city, instead of trying to do multiple cities and end up having them all pretty mediocre. I'd love to see it, but I don't believe they're remaking San Andreas. Either way I guess we'll have to wait to see what they say about it. Cue me eating humble pie in 3, 2, 1... It's possible it's just a minor part of a cut scene. All the characters in that scene seem slightly too well animated, honestly. It's definitely a hint at animals in the game, but I doubt we'll see people's dogs roaming the streets in the game. Rockstar just don't need the controversy. Wild animals, yeah probably. Yeah they definitely appear to be props/street garbage. Honestly I can't say I used pushbikes much in San Andreas so it's not a huge deal for me. Either way, we won't know until it's out, or Rockstar tell us (but it's fun to speculate ) -

Hey all, first post on the new site (used to be known as 'Pilot Lazz). Just thought I'd speculate on the area of the game. First off, the license plates say 'San Andreas', but that doesn't mean much. Los Santos is IN San Andreas, in the same way that Vice City is IN Florida. That doesn't mean it'll include the whole state. My impression is we'll see Los Santos surrounded by large areas of countryside on all sides (Red Dead style). Mount Chiliad is obviously back, and there are several countryside and desert areas shown in the trailer (0:28 and 0:56 spring to mind). No hint of Las Venturas or San Fierro were even shown, which is strange for a game this far into production. Although I'd love to be proven wrong since San Fierro was my favourite city in any GTA game. Also, about dogs - I wouldn't get your hopes up. The dog at the beginning of the trailer is way too perfectly animated to be anything other than a motion captured performance. I doubt we'll see dogs roaming around the streets with their owners, although again I would love to be proven wrong. More likely I think is police dogs (possibly) and wild animals in the countryside areas. Also the pushbike in the scene where the guy is putting up the 'for sale' board (0:54) is missing a front wheel. That doesn't mean bikes won't be in, but I didn't see any others. Also about the protagonist - if it was Tommy Vercetti I would be surprised. The voice doesn't sound like Ray Liotta, and the grey-haired guy looks to me to be a mission-giver, possibly somebody like Donald Love(?). Although there's nowhere near enough information to even guess yet. I'm going to stick my neck out and say we might see a very basic character creation system for the first time.
