NMA is famously anti-Fallout 3. Some have very good reasons, others are just lunatics who are personally offended by the change in camera angle and the fact that Bethesda's name is on it. I watched a few of the videos and I do agree with their sentiments, though. The AI, voice acting and animations are pretty bad, but from only a few minutes footage it's hard to claim the game is broken. These may just be the occasional glitch that people are leaping on. I won't say anything else about the videos to avoid spoilers, except that the game is looking like I feared it would. I'll need some serious convincing if I'm going to buy it. Otherwise it's back to California and Nevada for me.

Haha, I'll have to keep working on it. Even though no one can hear me... I've reached The Hub with 97 days until the water runs out...I should not have spent so long pissing around in Shady Sands and Junktown.

Agreed with above. If they want to do online do a separate Fallout Online (that way I don't have to play it, The Old Republic was so boring) as traditional online death matches or whatever wouldn't really suit it. I need to work on my one liners. I shot a guy in the dick, then executed him with an eye shot as he lay on the ground and all I could think of was "....dick".

They're pretty good. Anyway I'm way out of the loop. What's everyone been listening to lately? I've been on a death metal binge.

True, but compared to NV F3 has far less mods, and is a lot harder to get stable, especially with bigger mods. Bones: Think it's called redbubble? Basically you choose a shirt/hoodie or whatever, and they have thousands of designs by independent artists. Not sure how they avoid copyright infringement... Anyway, I'm on my way to Junktown. I already have a leather jacket so Dogmeat should be easy to recruit. I've been very careful, and Ian hasn't managed to block me into a corner again, so his genitals remain intact. Edit: Just to throw the cat among the pigeons...Badthesda Presents: Failout 4. I'm so witty.

Hahahaha yeah that's pretty standard. I'm the only person I know who can get 3 working. Which is a shame as I played 20 hours and will likely never touch that shitty game ever again. And yeah there aren't many mods for 3, and it really doesn't like having more than about 5 mods at a time, anyway. NV is a lot more stable and has a heap of mods so it should work for you. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=149946772 Might be able to help you if you're willing to put in the time. In other news I received the greatest birthday present ever. It's a black shirt with the White Glove Society logo on it.

Sorry man, I was so busy complaining about Fallout 3 that I forgot this topic. Another good Aussie band to check out is Alchemist. They blew Meshuggah off the stage when I saw them. Although that's not hard when they played for 50 minutes and every song sounded exactly the same...

I'm stuck using companions as my strength is 5 and I took Small Frame as a trait, so I have massively reduced carry capacity. It is funny that when you meet Ian he mentions he was injured defending a caravan. I suspect he simply stood uncomfortably close to someone until they shot him, as I did.

FFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCKKKKK! Finally found the time to play Fallout. Was in Vault 15, and foolishly hadn't saved since I was in Vault 13, when my inbred companion blocked me in a corner. There is no way to make him move. I am stuck. I ended up shooting him in the groin and quitting. Ehhhh, guess I'll reload...again.

We should team up.

I think half the Goldens I meet are called Bella. Candy is losing her hearing...yelling CANDY in the park makes me look like a paedophile.

I was going to ask if that was a vault suit. bOnEs is basically my hero now.
-
Yeah it is..Bethesda only ships to the US, and the Aussie retailers I've found want $100 for a bunch of games I already own, sometimes multiple copies. But that Mini Nuke....

Yay, someone likes me!
-
Guessing it was a limited run?
-
Yeah, it is. A lot more strategy rather than pure action. I'm now really jealous I didn't grab the anthology.

2 and NV are my favourite Fallout games, followed by 1. My main issue with 3 is that it feels like a spin off. It's the Fallout world, but it has nothing to do with the Fallout narrative. NV was much better narrative wise as it referenced the rather significant events of 1 and 2 (Navarro, The Master etc). So I'd advise you play through 1, or at least read the events of the game and you absolutely have to play 2. Great game.
-
It's well worth it. And perhaps after playing it, you won't think I'm such a crazy person for preferring NV. Although I am a crazy person.
-
Ever played it before? It's great, but uhhh....quite different to 3 or NV. Also frustrating as the interface is hardly user friendly. But shooting people in the groin and eyes is very satisfying. Haven't tried modding myself, it looks hard.

Standing on a big rock. It's hard to believe I'm single, really. I miss having long hair.

Late to the party, but sorry for your loss, Bones. It's fucking tough. This was Buzz. Greatest dog you could hope for. He passed over Easter this year. I have two new Goldens now, but I don't have any photos on my PC so I will post them tomorrow or something. Edit: Who am I kidding? I have nothing else to do. Candy (front) is 11, and her daughter Bella is 6.

I know you guys are really hyped for 4 but I'm worried. I'm yet to play a game in a series where the simplification is a positive. I understand the production costs are huge and as such they need to sell a lot of copies, but by pandering to idiots with almost no attention span the game itself gets hurt. Saw the same thing happen to Mass Effect, where it was basically a third person shooter by ME3. Maybe I just like things to be complicated and hard to understand. Or perhaps I just hate change (this is true). Anyway. I forgot to save, so I have to start Fallout again, but I'm already having fun shooting rats in the eye. I don't remember much of the game as it's been a while, so I'm playing sensibly. Next character will be a chick with no intelligence who runs around the Wasteland punching people in the dick. She'll be too stupid to find the water chip (and too stupid to understands Mentats) so I can only see good things coming from it.

Great, Skyrim style perks. I want my skills, dammit. Really struggling to get into FO3. Think I'll start Fallout tonight instead.

I assumed Strength helped with HP and as a hoarder, I like to carry as much as possible, which is why I try to get that as high as possible... I like to try to get as much HP as possible because I am quite useless at combat... As a completionist, this game is frustrating as hell... I have somehow ended up with some NCR fame, which I am hoping doesn't automatically shut the door on doing a few tasks for the Legion... Also, where do I find Boone if I don't automatically recruit him as a companion? Nah, Endurance governs HP. Strength is for melee damage and carry weight. I use the strong back perk to compensate for my low carry weight. NCR fame shouldn't stop you doing Legion tasks, unless you're vilified. It all gets reset at a certain part of the story, so you can always change allegiances. And Boone should be in Novac, guarding the dinosaur at night.

Still no Dogmeat... In NV I rolled something like: S - 4 P - 6 E - 7 C - 1 I - 8 A - 6 L - 7 Assuming that adds up. Perception may have been 5. I've been told I build weird, though. It all depends how you want to play. Unless you're going melee I'd drop your strength down from 7/8. Charisma is a totally useless stat in the game, as with high intelligence you get more than enough skill points to max speech. If I had my time over I'd drop my perception lower again, as when wearing a hat and with ED-E's sensor perk it was actually too high for my liking, as enemies appeared on my radar at a great distance so I had no idea how close they actually were. I always load up on luck as it influences critical chance, all your skills and I think some of the random items you find. Also, having high luck is useful in the casinos. If you want to do anything I'd drop strength (you can still have it higher than 4, I travel light) and charisma and put it into endurance (who doesn't like health?) and luck. Also don't forget certain perks have a SPECIAL requirement, so if you have your heart set on one of them keep it in mind when building.
