What are you looking for in GTA5?
Massacre replied to Qdeathstar's topic in GTA 5 Pre-Release Discussion (Closed)
You are clearly unfamiliar with the source material of that image. As I've said in the past, pretty much anything Rockstar does nowadays is basically just a test run for features they're thinking of putting in the next GTA. I really hope the execution system from RDR will be in V, and I think it's pretty likely. -
I do most of my work with a simple photo editing program rather than actual photoshop, because I don't do particularly complicated work, and it gives me simple options. It has shapes with outlines, and I just made thin rectangles and changed the fill color. For the bars that weren't full, I copy/pasted another bar on top, re-sized the bar, and made the bar behind it dark grey. The empty space in the radar and sound cone had a black fill that I set to 50% transparency, and the full HUD has an overall transparency of 25%. I may increase that a little as I work on it more. I'm also considering a slightly more pastel color palette.

Rough version. It's shit, but I've made it very clear by now that I'm no good with photoshop. It's more of a trial run than anything. I kept it along the lines of IV's HUD, but I plan to make the upper right corner more compact and minimalistic in future attempts. The radar is blank, partially because it's blank in IV when you're inside, but mostly because I know my attempt at the new radar is going to be a miserable failure. I also threw in a shitty version of the sound cone, because no one else has yet. Personally, I think the cone would look better as a vertical bar attached to the side of the radar, but the real one will look better than mine, obviously. Also, I highly doubt it'll be there all the time. It'll probably only be there when you're crouching.

Working on my HUD, can't seem to find a font that looks right for the text. Suggestions?

Sticky bombs and satchel charges are just C4. They took the fact that C4 can be molded around and onto things, and made it a lot more simple and fun by making it stick to whatever it hits. Actual sticky bombs are utter garbage, and haven't been used since WWII. -
You didn't like gtaforums? That's a good start.

I'm not an NCR supporter, though I do have a jacket that looks army-esque.

Yep. That line that's always there when a bridge and road aren't even, which they never are. I never saw my car respond to that in IV, so the suspension has improved.

I think I might try my hand at this, for once. Maybe after a little more GTA IV...

So who's pre-ordering GTA V?
Massacre replied to Matthew's topic in GTA 5 Pre-Release Discussion (Closed)
Same. The minimum for a collector's edition pre-order is usually $25 at Gamestop. I think I'll just put $25 on a regular pre-order so I can change it to the collector's edition later without having to go back. -
Because it was hilarious.

"Brothers of Steel" Gtfo, eBay. Edit: Okay, I would rock that Mojave Express patch.

I miss when Tanner was fat.

Love that movie. Excellent example of a GTA-esque movie, excellent example of a heist movie, excellent all around. Even Hayden Christensen wasn't as awful as usual. Also, any movie where Idris Elba uses his real accent is more than likely going to be epic.

Gtagrl is going to buy a camera specifically for photographing her cats. Cat lady transformation complete.

@Tanner: That needs to be your look forever. @bOnEs: The same. Trevor would hang out with you guys.

Drawing a complete blank for IV, but it was two or three months for San Andreas. San Andreas and IV both had a flash map with clickable landmarks accompanied by short video clips. Was pretty cool. http://www.rockstarg...com/sanandreas/ http://www.rockstargames.com/IV/ -

They revealed the map for the other games long before release. -

Rockstar typically doesn't do E3. The last time GTA was at E3 was for San Andreas, and it was just a handful of screenshots that had been on fansites for months prior. I wouldn't expect any other info this month. We'll be getting things monthly, with heavier previews starting late July, most likely. I predict a map reveal before August. -

That's because I genuinely hate you. Anyway, yeah, Xbox Magazine, GTA V, etc. On-topic and all that jazz. -

I never troll, the others just know I'm not serious. Don't take people so seriously around here, we fuck with everyone. You'll start to pick up on things eventually. -

Stop that shit. Right now. I'm tired of it, and so is everyone else. -
They did that. They just divided it into III, Vice City, and San Andreas. You heard me, rest of America. You suck.

consider this a verbal warning... no flaming... i'm getting real tired of your shit... You tell 'em, Kirk. He was talking to the Frenchie, not you. That's why he quoted him. -
You pretty much nailed it, Vicey. It does seem like they're setting up something bigger, though. They wouldn't just arbitrarily change the game to an Abstergo simulation. I see a Templar point of view in our future.
