I was just thinking. If the game is set only in Los Santos, which is pretty much confirmed now. Will it be bigger than San Andreas in terms of actual map size? I realize San Andreas covered three cities and surrounding countryside, but everything was shrunk down and the cities were far smaller than any real city. GTA V clearly looks much richer in detail and bigger looking from what we have seen of it so far. But will it actually be bigger than San Andreas, or ever Red Dead?, since Rockstar have mentioned it is the largest and most ambitious game yet in their latest statement. Might as well start discussing it, but don't moan that the game is going to suck because it's not going to be San Andreas, that's not the point of this thread. Personally I hope it is bigger. And i hope to see loads of small country towns sprawled out over the countrysides, full of interesting characters to do side missions for and what not. /edit Here is some of the hard work put in by members on this forum: 'Fitty's Map (Final): DuPz' map (Final): Banana Pudding's map: Los Santos Blueprints: Image from an achievement/trophy icon: Brady Games Map:

With Grand Theft Auto IV's dowloadable add ons, I keep wondering what they'll bring out for the upcoming title. The Lost & The Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony were great, but will they be able to achieve a greater add on? What kind of DLCs will you be expecting?

How do I insure my car? I read all about being able too from Rockstar, pre-release, they said you could do it online, but they said anything you can do online you can do in story mode, saying if your car gets destroyed you can just phone up and it'll get repaired and you'll be delivered another one, well I can't figure out how, and it's making the whole car customization thing pretty redundent for me, because the same thing happens like in the other GTA's, you get a nice car, in this case spend loads of money decking it out to your requirements (Still haven't figured out how to "fine tune" your car like Rockstar said you could) and then it just ends up gathering dust in my garage never being used because I'm too paranoid that I'm going to lose it or destroy it, so how's it done? I surfed the in-game web and couldn't find anything.

soooo i was just wondering when to expect reviews for gta v to surface? i saw that the most recent saints row got reviews by a lot of the main publications from 8-14-8/16 and the game was released on the 20th. so do you guys think gta v will follow this trend and we'll get reviews around the 12th? also, i'm interested to see how these publications are gonna possibly score this game. i feel like the unbelievable improvements it's made over iv have to warrant v getting a better score than that. but, as that game got perfect-near perfect scores from basically everyone, do you think some places will pull an french uncharted 2 review and go above 10?

Hello everyone! I'm new to the forum so please don't be too rough! Anyways... i would like to see some realistic gun movement/physics in GTA5. Like R* did in Max Payne 3, where the slide of the gun would blow back to have a little more realism to it. Also the ejected shells should be tangible by the player (not that you'd want to kick around a shell for an hour). Also, when you reload, the magazine should have physics applied to it too, and fall to the ground when you switch it out. I might be asking for too much, but it would still be real neat! In previous GTA games all you had was a solid gun that just looked pretty and shot whatever you aimed at. Hopefully we'll get some actual gun mechanics and not just an object that shoots. What do you think? Let the people speak!!

What is your personal opinion on GTA V so far?
-
I was bored and i started thinking about how the story may start in this GTA. There is obviously endless possibilities, but with the trailer clues and the confirmation of Los Santos and surrounding land, i stated to narrow down some ideas in my mind. I know most of you wont really care too much about this until you play it, but there's no harm in discussing it. The protagonist mentions in the trailer, why did i move here? That's a clue he's only just got there, and possibly by chance after quitting his old line of work? He mentions having kids, but that doesn't mean he actually has any yet. Also, Rockstar are still being tight lipped about the rest of the map so far. So this could hint to a something extra we weren't quite expecting beyond Los Santos. My first prediction: You start off in a 4-door family car, with your wife. You control the vehicle, and have to drive through some nice rural landscapes, passing through small towns along the way. You guys are talking about all the things you're going to do when you get to the new house, decorating and stuff, blah blah... Then suddenly a blacked out Sentinel rams into the back of their car. Two more are tailing them. The protagonist says something like "Shit, they've found us", and you now have to try and lose them whilst they ram and shoot at your car. You go off-road over some rocky terrain, and start to follow a "set route" (set, being you don't know you're following it, you just do it because the map is set in a way you just follow the semiotic signs) and then the cars eventually do their set barrel roll routines and diving off of canyon edges, missing a bridge, and those sorts of animations after a nice lengthy chase. The protag and his wife have a little talk about the incident after finally shaking them, getting back onto a freeway. You go through a toll booth and enter Los Santos, triggering a nice little radio message saying "The weather is perfect here in Los Santos today, here's a perfect song to compliment that". And as you drive through Los Santos to your new house, the set song creates an upbeat feel as you take in all the landmarks along the way. Welcome to Los Santos everyone! Ok, so that's my first prediction. Just to get the juices flowing. Post you own predictions, as frequently as you like. It doesn't just have to be how the story starts. You may have a certain mission in your head, that you feel we may come across during the game, and want to get it off your chest. It could just be a place to express what you really want from the GTA V Story though (not game mechanics and misc stuff though, use the pinned, What are you looking for in GTA5? thread for that). Get writing! /edit - date: 12/11/12 ---------------------------------------------------- Now we know that the story revolves around 'heists'. Can anyone think of any decent heist films? Classic would be better, i guess, as Dan only takes influence from classic material. Dan Houser & Rockstar North must have taken influence from some. I'd like to get the references when i play it! Here are some I already know of: Films to watch before playing GTA V Ocean's Eleven (1960) Snatch. (2000) Heat (1995) - Already used in IV though, maybe some other parts of the film will be referenced in V. Reservoir Dogs (1992) Jackie Brown (1997) Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998) The Sting (1973) The Italian Job (1969) The Getaway (1972) Swordfish (2001) A Fish Called Wanda (1988) Heist (2001) Ronin (1998) The Asphalt Jungle (1950) The Town (2010) Drive (2011) Ambush (1939) Rififi (1955) The Killing (1956) Seven Thieves (1960) The Big Snatch (1963) Topkapi (1964) Gambit (1966) Robbery (1967) The Thomas Crown Affair (1968) A Cop (1972) Charley Varrick (1973) The Brink's Job (1978) The First Great Train Robbery (1978) The Score (2001) Bank Shot (1974) Loophole (1981) Ocean's Eleven (2001) Ocean's Twelve (2004) Ocean's Thirteen (2007) Sexy Beast (2000) Inside Man (2006) Mission: Impossible (1996) The Man Inside (1958) Fun with Dick and Jane (1977)

In the new screens it's pretty much confirmed tennis will be a playable activity. GTA IV we had bowling and shit, we could do all sorts of friend activities. I got to ask, does anyone actually care about that sort of thing? I thought the whole friendship thing in IV was really really boring - except getting drunk, that was fun. I hope I am not the only one that thinks Rockstar shoudnt waste their time making these sort of activities and instead concentrate on fun things like burglary, drug dealing, raiding warehouses, hijacking trucks full of stuff you can sell on the black market, arms dealing/smuggling, gang wars.. etc. Betting on horses and card games were great in SA, alot more fun than bowling with Roman. The truth is, Im not that excited about GTA V if its going in the same direction as IV. Instead of "hey cousin, lets go bowling" every 10mins, it will be "hey Ned Luke, lets play tennis".

Hello there people of igta.com, I am the newcomer known as Avryne. Having played the Grand Theft Auto series from an early age I have come to love it. The scathing critiscism of American culture, the homages to movies, and the excellent gameplay are what drew me in. Now, after the release of Grand Theft Auto IV, I was elated to have the ability to play with other players. But, it turned out to not be as fun as I had thought it would be, due to a lack of a binding element ingame that brought fans together to play in a co-operative manner. With time, Red Dead Redemption was released, and with it Free-Roam. I fell in love with it, and formed a gang in it. But, with no steady way to have alliances, it lacked the component that I so deeply desired. Then, Max Payne 3 came out, having crews in it. Never played it that often, at least online, due to my preference of roaming over deathmatch activities. Soon after, I learned that Grand Theft Auto V would come out, and with it, crews that carried over. Well, soon after I decided that I would get a crew together, one for people who are both fans of the series, as well as those who are considered outcasted by society. So, I came up with the idea of the clan The Truly Free, after a quote from Assassin's Creed 3. Now, I have begun to look for members, and came to this site for both that reason while also wanting to become apart of the community. I am looking for mature, open-minded, and fun-loving people for this. But, in reality I know that only crazies and the like will join, so as long as your not sexist/homophobic/rascist, I'll take your acceptance into our group into consideration. If you would like to join, we are open to more members, just contact me for more information. Thank you for your time, and I hope you have a wonderful day.

Over the years GTA has been very realistic and very over the top at times which is great fun and interesting. But should it be more realistic? How do you think airplanes and airports should operate in the game? Police? Other emergency services? Taxis/Buses? What are you're opinions?

Okay superusers, I would like to ask for some help in making a choice in consoles (and communities.) I am normally a PC gamer, who has been sort of forced to go Mac. Obviously, gaming on a mac is horrible outside of Blizzard titles. So I am ready to get my first console since I bought my PS2; which I got exclusively because I saw GTA SA gameplay and fell madly and passionately in love. Bought my PS2 the next day acctually. In fact, I only played a few other titles on that great console. Anyways, around the time that GTA 4 was coming out, I was ready to upgrade to the 360 or PS3 when I got my girlfriend pregnant and consequently went back to university to finish my degree and obviously had no money to spend on things like this. So I missed much of the console war shake-out. Imagine I am a time traveler who looked out the window once or twice: I know that Blu-Ray won the HD format battle, and vaguely know that DLC came out for the XBOX crowd and either later or never for the PS3 crowd, and that the PSN was hacked to shit multiple times, and that there are more subscribers to MSN than PSN. Okay. So now I am getting all excited for GTA 5 and finally getting to play GTA 4 and the awesome looking DLC, which I have struggled mightily to avoid learning too much about to allow me a great experience when I finally get to play. I need to decide which console to buy and which community to buy into. Here are my questions: 1: There was a time delay for releasing the content for the PS3, and MSN users got it first. According to what I read on wikipedia, there was a 14 month delay between the initial release of the "Lost and the Damned" on XBOX and when they released it all for PS3 users. SO::: Should I expect a similar time lag for getting GTA 5 DLC this time around on PS3 or was that a one-time arrangement? Do we have information on content exclusivity for this title? 2: Is there a significant difference in the communities and community experience between the two consoles? Can anyone tell me what, if any, multiplayer communities exist and are they a major part of the post-initial gameplay/playthrough? 3: Are netflix subscriptions included in the sub fees or is it just that the sub fees allow you to use the console in place of say, a Roku for a Netflix Streaming you already purchase? 4: Finally, beyond GTA, is there a significant difference in title quality/libraries? The exclusives didn't really make me cringe, I do think Uncharted looks fun but XBOX seems to have more exclusives. I don't give a fuck about HALO, btw. Is there more DLC in the MSN? Based on the knowledge Microsoft will have of the online community world and the seemingly prominent relationship between Rockstar and Microsoft I am leaning X Box right now. Thanks in advance, Families!

Princess Robot Bubblegum, Republican Space Rangers... What TV shows or content do you want in GTA V either returning or new? I would like Rockstar to let some real-world production teams make TV shows for GTA5. The writers for Archer, the production team of South Park, and others would be cool to have in the game making episodes that are new yet with a familiar tone to them. Of course Rockstar would still have their own TV shows (Weazel News and some other returning shows) with their own humor but letting in outsiders would help give some variety in my opinion. gta v tv gta 5 tv grand theft auto 5 tv grand theft auto v tv shows episodes cartoons news So what do YOU want to watch on the GTA V TV?

Hi, Do you think it would be possible that GTA V includes realistic car crashes, I mean like in the real life. For exemple, during a high speed car crash on the highway, the car would be completely destroyed, not only the bumper. Maybe you think it would make the game too difficult ? So what do you think about an option which could be disabled? I'm not talking about a pc mod, but about an option, natively available on both pc and console. Take a look at it : Especialy at 0:45 and 1:00 It presents the physics engine of Rigs of Rods. Besides the graphic quality, we can see that cars react much like real cars. Think of a physics engine like this in GTA V. .. Do you think it would be possible?
-
So is anyone else hoping that GTA V will have better sounds? I thought that the engine sounds from cars were all shit apart from the Sultan RS and a couple others. Many of them sounded the same, and the high end sports cars didn't sound as powerful and sexy as they should. I also thought that gun sounds lacked a bit as well. Most of the guns in GTA: SA sounded better. Having decent and realistic sounds in a game is a big must have for me.
