In GTA IV, I thought some of the story mode game play was a little weird. For example, you always drove everywhere, starting from the first mission. I'm a huge fan of driving, however I think it's a bit unrealistic that you are driving your friends/mission associates everywhere when they know the city better than you do and you don't even know where your going sometimes( I know you have GPS but that's beside the point) And also, your friends call you to hang out at really strange times. For example, after you kill Dimitri, Roman would call me to go bowling or some shit. I don't feel that Niko would be up for bowling after that...

Second of all, there needs to be more of a variety of missions instead of the classic GTA IV: go and kill this person, or go make this deal for me which goes wrong and then kill that person. That's what I liked about TBOGT. They added creative missions like the triathlon and the export car mission ("No. 3" I think) They need more missions like these and "3 Leaf Clover" in GTA V. Agree, Disagree? Leave your thoughts

I love the way they make you drive everywhere. This is to help both you, and the protagonist learn your way around the city. They always make the route to missions fun and interesting, and this is something they really think about, to maximise your interest in the map.

Well I loved GTA 4 story but some of the missions were quite boring at times and i would like about ten big heists in GTA 5 that would be great maybe some robberies like off the movie the town which is good and i recommend it does anyone think GTA 4 would of made a great movie?

driving around i like as well, but i agree with you on more various missions and the fact your friends are kind of annoying. heists, hell yeah that'd be great. maybe if they had some cool spy type missions. i also want something like the group of missions you did in san andreas to get all the stuff you need to do the casino heist mission.

I would like to see some stealth missions in V, like having to inflitrate a mansion, take out the guards silently and assassinate a boss, or just sneak in and steal something without being noticed.

Also I think some missions should be like the thieves guild recruitment in Skyrim. What I mean is you should be able to continue with the mission but in different ways depending on whether you succeed or fail.

The driving sequences should say. I quite liked how in IV, each sequence told a bit of back story between the characters, but if you failed the mission and restarted, you would get an alternative voiceover where you would learn something else. It also kinda ruins the flow of the game if your friends constantly drive you places and you get a black screen as you warp to the new area. There are very few points in GTA where you don't start one sequence where you finished another, be it cutscene or gameplay, and I think it's important to keep it that way.

What I don't like is when driving sequences are made unnecessarily long e.g. meeting someone in a random building in Bohan, only to have to drive to Alderney straight after the cutscene finishes. It would be better if you were told more about the mission when you get the first phone call, so you can meet them in the relevant place instead.

GTA 5 should have more varieties in missions like everybody else has already said. But The Mission varieties should be more odd and different than each other . Basically, I don't want to drive everyfuckingwhere for a mission. I mean every now and then it would be good to have a mission like that where you drive to a point get out and assainate some people. Also in GTA you've always been able to jump, and climb ontop of stuff... (unrelated) So, I Think more atheletic attributes should be added for things like that Like Parqor for example. Not standing infront of a wall that is just a tiny bit too high and jumping looking like an idiot. You should be able to run at the wall, sort of run up it and climb to the top.

Kinda like that mission in San Andreas where you have to sneak into Madd Doggs mansion an steal his song or OG LOC. lol

Like I said, I loved to drive, but u have to admit its unrealistic at times when you drive your friends around every mission,,,I agree with DuffMan in that is was cool to here a couple variations of dialogues if u fail.

I want the story to be about 300 missions long I know that's alot but as long as it's entertaining and keeps me busy for the next GTA

The average GTA is roughly 95ish missions long, I think it would be great if there were 150+ quality missions, not just repetitive drive there, kill that guy type missions.

i reckon they will make some more diffrent missions, i also likes the prison bus mission in lost and damned.

too many robberies would make it an easy way to get money, if you get $250,000 like you did in gta 4 in 3 leaf clover, you would be a millionaire. maybe smaller robberies of just shops or small time banks etc

or start out with robbing shops then on to companys then banks etc

That was one of the problems in IV, you had a shitload of money with nothing to spend it on. Amount doesn't really matter, it's the amount:spending ratio that counts.

Good idea, I am totally looking forward to stealth missions like one in San Andreas where u have to steal the rhyme book from Madd Dogg for OG Loc, but if the protagonist is that old man we all think, then it would suck...I dont want to make him break his hip while crouching or something :)

GTA V should include at most 200 missions. Any more and the game might get boring. Instead of all the missions being "kill this guy", "destroy this" or "steal that car" all the time, they should include a variety of different missions, like infiltration missions, bank robberies, deal breakers, a high speed car chase mission etc.

Hi, as always I checked the search option, so I'm sorry if I'm posting something that has already (or something similar) been posted.

In GTA IV it seemed the missions despite different characters/locations and methods all seemed to be the same near enough, somebody p*ssed somebody off and it was up to you as the cheap hired help to go take care of them, now even though Rockstar added a few moments in the game which had the player choosing wether or not to spare a life, I found that the missions could be somewhat repetitive, but the option of choice (Wether or not it had much of an impact on the games ending) to be a great option and added replay value to the game.

So my question to you good people is, did you prefer the more deeper somewhat realistic story lines in GTA IV, or do you prefer the mission structures from the previous games such as Vice City and San Andreas which had a verity of missions from learning to drive, to helping a stereotypical nerd defeat his arch rival with remote control tanks! to blowing up huge cargo planes and half built skyscrapers! what kind would you prefer to see in GTA V and why? all opinions welcome!

A realistic story like iv. I would be mad if I have to play with toys again.

@LordSugarDaddy Merged your topic into this one because it wasn't really worthy of a whole new topic.

So you moved a non-wishlist post to the wishlist topic as opposed to one of the many story/mission-related topics we have. You're a clever one.

Moved to related topic.

I love driving to places but it can become repetitive after a while. I'm glad that we had the option to restart the mission in GTA IV because in SA you would have to drive all the way back to the mission start point and then all the way to the mission itself.

There's one mission in SA where you have to drive to Cesar and then drive his car with him in the passenger seat... It doesn't make much sense lol.

But I also hope to see a greater variety of missions.

Oh shit yeah, I remember that one! It was huge drive aswell! Yeah thank goodness for the retry text message system they introduced in IV. Overall the driving parts have to be incorporated to give you the lay of the land as they say. And I even dont mind a long drive in a mission as long as the end result is satisfying, missionwise I mean. I can see a dumping of a body, for instance, where you have to drive way out in the boonies, and you get a cut scene where the body is dumped. You then get to get to free roam again, where you find yourself near a small town, where you can do side missions, Maybe for like a boss hogg kind of character. Where youll get into local politics (scare some people, beat someone up, burn a dumpster, etc) And there also to be some properties to be bought i.e. a mid-size house, a small bar and a gun store. Which generate some income and where you can re-stock for free.(Just letting my imagination take over!) As opposed to, as you finish your mission (and you have driven a large distance for it) and then to find yourself havin get all the way back to the city to continue your gameplay experience.

Overall the variety will have to get greater since R* already announced a big variety in landscape (big city vs. rural country), thus the missions will simply HAVE to vary. In contradiction, in IV there only was the big city, so you'd get a lot more missions like: Drive here, kill him, drive there, steel this car. Blow up this factory with a bomb rigged truck. These are all mostly missions that you can realisticly find in the city.
