Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Holy fuck!!!  I have no idea what the hell I am doing and I love it!!!  My only really big gripe is that there is so much loot I have to leave behind...

I had to randomise my race because I would never have settled on one - ended up Breton, which seems to be working for me.

The game play is so very Fallout so I thought no guns would be an issue but I tend to use my destruction magic as I would a gun anyway...

I have just collected the Golden Dragonclaw - do I get the Dragonstone now (I am only level 3 or 4) or wait until I am stronger??  From what I gather, the Dragonstone means dragons and I am not ready for dragons...

Fuck I envy you, your virgin mind being able to experience the whole thing anew... not knowing what to expect. Just watch out for the numerous bugs and save often in multiple  slots so you always have a previous one to go back to if something bugs out.

Seriously. I played on PC, where quicksave just required hitting F5, and I was hitting that probably every 60 seconds or so without really noticing that I was doing it.

That may have been largely due to my ~300 mods making me paranoid of sudden - but admittedly well-deserved - crashes.

dude, grab the place in whiterun when you become thane... every run, sell the stuff to whomever wants it, or stuff in the house when you cant... the blacksmiths by the entrance, belathor, the wizard in dragons reach, all can buy your goods... sell leftovers in riverwood too lol... however, break down any magical item you have that isn't as useful off the bat at dragons reach in the wizards chamber... losing early spelled items means nothing later in the game... invest in a set play style early and it will pay off in the end... always break down pelts and ingots at the smithing areas, not only for sale, but to improve your skill in crafting and bartering when you sell...

ffs, i could write a book on how to survive in skyrim... the overall best advise tho, is to just do what you want B)... carve you're own path, but learn to adapt and use the world to your benefit... some the enemies will be quick to test you randomly, so save often lol...

I never bothered with any of the homes within the cities once Hearthfire was an option. Lakeview Manor will always be my go to home.

Also stay out of the Reach, fuck that place. The Forsworn are tough bastards despite their fur clothing.

I decided to try becoming a vampire in my current playthrough, something i've never done. I'm playing as a Breton mage who specialises in conjuration, alteration and one handed weaponry (maces) and doesn't wear any armour so i'm reliant on ebonyflesh and the mage armour perk to get me through fights. Becoming a vampire was like setting the game to easy mode; draugr deathlords, dragon priests, the forsworn and other melee heavy npcs all become very easy to take down as a vampire, once I unlocked the coprse curse perk it was even easier. I just wish you could use first person as a vampire, Skyrim is of the few games where I just don't like the third person view.

Up to level 8 and am just hanging around Whiterun at the moment, trying to clear some tasks off the Miscellaneous list...

Just found out about enchanting but still not sure about soul gems and collecting souls...  I like the alchemy set up - testing the ingredients and "inventing" potions...

Killed my first dragon, which was easier than I thought it would be... bought the house in Whiterun because my hoarding ways needed to have one...  got accused of avoiding helping out with a fight against a giant but I didn't even know it was happening...  I sneak like an obese, drunk cripple but it's still fun trying to snipe people with the bow.

I have just returned to Whiterun to find Belethor lying dead in the street and the smallfolk moaning about vampires... might need to investigate... or I might just go mining

Belethor dead? That never happens to me, you lucky bastard. Do you mean first dragon as in the scripted one at the western watchtower or the first radiant one?

That pretty much sums up this game (and Fallout naturally.) "Dragons have returned??! Better find a mammoth tusk for Ysolda and start gathering materials to build a homestead. Hey there are vampires attacking? A talking dog? My son Shaun? Wabbajack? What was I doing? Something about dragons...? Oh it's several months later, Solitude has probably been burnt to the ground by now. Might as well carry on Fus'ing everyone in sight because I haven't unlocked Ro'Dah yet and can only imagine how fun that'll be."

oh that sucks, belethor is a great source of gold, he's one of those general goods stores that buys anything, whereas the others specialize in weapons or potions, etc... you can always head to riverwood if you need to unload some stuff...

yea that vampire thing is annoying as fuck... for my current file, every time i fast travel to markarth after a few days, vampires kill more people... i lost the blacksmith vendor there, and someone else important...

@Vicey - the first scripted one... The first radiant dragon circled overhead just outside Whiterun but my daughter would have been very upset if I had taken a shot at it so I let it fly away... dragons are cute apparently...

Went hunting for elk - ended up being a tag and release type trip, now every elk or deer near Whiterun is running around with an arrow stuck in it's arse... I managed to kill one but lost the carcass in the grass.

I need more storage containers - how do I get furniture?

talk to the jarl's helper of whiterun, the one that sold you the property, and buy additional upgrades... your personal bedroom is a sound investment... i stored most of my stuff in that chest until i reached level 22 for being a thane of the pale and getting my property north of whiterun... like i said, nothing wrong with buying the whiterun house to store stuff while out on adventure... by the time i unlocked the property i wanted, i already had 25K in gold from just scavenging and selling... gold is never problem in this game if you can properly manage your inventory...

Properly manage your inventory = recruit a pack mule to carry all the heavy shit, I always go for Jenassa or Uthgerd myself. Lydia can fuck off.

I'm still playing this 3 months after I bought the damn thing!  Keep finding more stuff to do I didn't do first time round including most of the DLC.  'Platinumed' it again but decided to aim at getting all the DLC trophies too.

It really does rank as one of the best games I've ever played, if not the best.

Oh and just to clarify, it's nowhere near as buggy as the original PS3 version although some glitches still do exist!

I don't think Bethesda actually made an effort to fix any of the bugs for the remaster, it's just sheer luck that many of them don't manifest themselves as readily as the original version. I think it has the potential to be just as buggy. I remember the worst bugs generally happened when attacking forts for the civil war quest and also the Blood on the Ice quest with dialogue options not appearing meaning you hit a brick wall and couldn't finish it. Thankfully i've not encountered either of those in my current playthrough, although I did have a bit of trouble completing Blood on the Ice but I managed to brute force it. Bethesda are the best at making brilliant, buggy games.

speaking of funny glitches while attacking a fort, i made a video last night... it's just me helping the empire... but i installed a few mods tho, including one that give you more cinematic kill scenes, so it made this battle feel more epic that it was ... but that damn horse lol!! :P...

Nice vid, bones..

I usually treat these types of games as some treat real life - you get one shot, experience everything you can.  But I have realised that this is impossible with this game and have had to be a lot less anal about a lot of things...  like leaving perfectly good weapons and armour behind... it totally breaks my heart.  And my bitch doesn't strip bodies so I can only get her to pick up what's lying around... then I go to sell it, and it's all classed as fucking stolen, so I can't... I love the way Bethesda opened it right up with FO4.

My main skill is sneak but only because I creep around everywhere like a pussy... I kill radiant dragons with my bow surprisingly easily... I use orc mace and bow with fire or electricity on the other hand... light armour, elven I think but I might go heavy and get the muffled armour perks... going to switch to sword, Ghostblade at first until I get a decent enchantment for making swords awesome...

I keep killing Lydia... I reload because I have to make up for my dismal sex life by being a total video game sex slut and Lydia seems the submissive type.

Back I go... might join the Companions...

I'd suggest doing Dawnguard and becoming a vampire, I found it very useful earlier on when I was somewhat weaker as a mage going up against several melee opponents. The only problem with using it is you don't level the skills you normally would in battle... plus the whole weaker in day thing which wasn't much of a problem TBH. However as soon as I got the paralyze spell I found I didn't need vampirism so much as I could just stun an enemy, walk up to them and bash them with my mace of Molag Bal. In the end I got rid of it, my character's moved on now... she has two kids and a slightly deformed Nord husband to think about.

Hahaha now I've found a room with a glowing tablet and a tray of runes... when you push the runes, they make words on the glowing tablet... the portal I find myself in has the diaries and musings of a number of other travellers... by using a combination of runes and a light stone that glows out the bottom, i can communicate with these travellers... hello to my fellow travellers Massacre, Viceman (who seems friendly for an argonian - fuck argonians),  Capn Bones and all the others I haven't really read about yet...

Just back in Whiterun, dropping my loot and replenishing stocks.  Lydia is with me still and I am starting to fall for her...  She is so strong, basically carried 2 tonnes of dwemer metal back from Mzult on her own and she can fight like a killer.  Half the time, I can barely get my mace out before she's massacred a whole bandit gang.  But most importantly, she doesn't talk much... silent and beautiful mmmmm....  I must be love - I have so much to tell you guys about but she is the first thing that enters my head...

I'm building up a good stock of supplies and I am getting very selective about what I scavenge... Lydia (see, there she is again) is a big help, especially carrying those big weapons for me...

I collect souls for fun.  It is such a great feeling to take the lifeblood of another living being and store it away for your own abuse.  The Black Star is such a wonderful thing...

Was just up in Solitude and met an argonian and his sister, who I helped out - I mean, it was a bit dodgy what I did and I should have expected the double cross but they now wish they hadn't fucked with me now hahaha Lizard stew anyone??  Fuck argonians....

The College of Winterhold was an awesome experience... so much fun and I can't believe I am now..........

what the fuck was that?  Oh for fucks sake, I am getting sick of dragons...  gotta go - the Thane of Whiterun needs to help his people (and suck up another dragon soul - addictive shit that!!)

Hopefully I find this portal again...

Are you sure you're okay landstrider? You seem to be in some sort of mental daze. Maybe you should go see Danica at the Temple of Kynareth and get yourself healed, it could be ataxia.

"Tidings." "Yes?" "Yes?" "Tidings." "Hmmm?"

*does Argonian things (like stealing all your shit, racism is fun)*

that's what i need!! the damn black star!! i have the sanguine rose staff that i use a lot, and each use really drains it's charges... nothing like spawning a dremora warrior to either help in the battle, or distract my enemies so i can fuck them up!!...

Sylgja.png

i married sylgja on this file, she's pretty hot... she's basically a trophy wife because i fight alone... well, i do have a dremora to keep me company when i need it lol... but i found a mod that puts her in the tavern clothes and replaces her pickaxe with a dagger... i was originally trying to marry anwen, who is a redguard priestess in markarth, but she never came home after marriage... i lost her lol somehow, so i reloaded and picked someone else after it failed again... the nords talk about our mixed marriage (im a reguard myself) but they all shut up when they meet the end of my sword :shifty:...

i think it's time to dive into more skyrim, it's been a minute, playing hitman a lot again recently...

mjoll.jpeg

my favorite marriage was to mjoll the lioness on my first ever skyrim character... after doing her quest (and silently killing that jack ass that follows her everywhere) she becomes essential and can never die... she's a bad ass in combat... and also looks pretty sexy in her braveheart looking war paint lol...

The n'wah is clearly on skooma. Likes to dance close to the fire, that one.

When your path takes you farthest north, outlander, be sure to seek out the fool chasing my associate's knowledge. You'll find your way there, in time. Don't let the eyes unsettle you. To know all, you must see all.

(Few and far between, but I always enjoy the brief role playing we do here, from time to time)

I think i've only played Skyrim once as an Argonian TBH.

I just can't get over that damn Nord accent of hers, it rubs me up the wrong way. Aela is much better IMO; better to look at (Saviour's Hide anyone?) and a less annoying accent.

I tend to 50/50 between soloing and adventuring with my Dawnstar housecarl, whatever his name is... Gregor? He's to become my new husband after I killed my previous husband Benor because he looked somewhat derpy what with his deformed caveman forehead. (The children haven't asked where he is, but he's lying semi naked in a snow drift a few hundred feet from the house. His life force repeatedly resurrected and slain to fill my Ebony Blade.)

I think my next task is to go back to Solstheim and collect the last of Massacre's associates teachings, tis a pity I can't display them in my library with the Oghma Infinium. After that we move against the Dawnguard, they are becoming a nuisance.

After escaping Helgen, I looked at the war as an opportunity to become a great warrior, and find my purpose in this world. As a Wood Elf who is skilled in archery and stealth, I moved quickly through the ranks of the Imperial Army. General Tullius, while wary of my demeanor, always boasted of my accomplishments as a soldier. It was a long war...a difficult war. Although, Ulfric has fallen, conflict still remains between both sides.

After leaving Solitude for good, I still search for my purpose. I really wish someone would do something about these vampires...

I received a letter from the Jarl of Falkreath. I wasn't sure what he wanted of me, but I was ready for a change of scenery. Come to find out that all he really needed was for me to clean up petty grievances around the area. It's nice here though. I'm Thane of Falkreath, now. I've built a house on a flat patch of land just outside the village, and I'm getting burned out with all this decorating. I'm afraid I am a bit discouraged that I seem to have no sense of direction, no purpose. The Dragonborn book I picked up in Helgen has been burning a hole in my pocket for some time now. Maybe it's time I do some reading on these dragons.

Hey, I found it again... I got lost in other areas of this portal searching for pictures of the mythical Four-Eyes, the bearded lady with exceptional bosoms...

Before I continue, I had better introduce myself.  My name is Bilibob Anfield and I am a happy-go-lucky Breton making his way in this mixed-up, crazy world.  My mother was a cook (I think - I never actually saw her cook anything?!?!)  for the Imperial Army so we have moved around a lot with whichever troop she assigned to.  I never knew my father (neither did Mum) but I had a lot of uncles...  I'm pretty good at magic but prefer playing with my bow... I was on a drunken weekend with some mates and found myself being arrested at the border which is where my adventures in Skyrim began...

Now, apparently, I am some sort of Dragonborn or something... I am supposed to go see the Greybeards to get some more information but fuck that... I have a feeling they will try to make some sort of hero out of me or something and all I want to do is drink, kill and fuck...

On that last one, still no further with Lydia... we were in Broken Oar Grotto, sorting out that lying cunt of an argonian Jaree-Ra.  After everyone was dead, we started looting the cave and she misunderstood one of my instructions.  I went back to Whiterun to drop off the loot and then headed out to Windhelm to sort something out about a Mysterious Amulet before I realised Lydia wasn't with me...  I started to worry she was dead so I retraced my steps for confirmation and she was still right in the depths of the Grotto, standing there, looking really pissed off... then, as we left the cave, we were attacked by some hired thugs...  so I might be back at square one with her...

Don't know who hired the thugs... I searched them for a contract or note but didn't find anything... nice to know someone cares, though.

Had a cool trek to Meridia's Shrine on Kilkreath, where I got rid of the wizard Malkoran for her... I thought he was going to be a tough fight but nothing can withstand my Glass Soulcatcher for too long... that's my bow, by the way... Meridia gave me 2 swords called Dawnbreaker so I've stashed one away and have started using the other... I like the shiny gem in the handle of it and the extra fire damage that it does...

Apologies to Viceman, your picture made me think you were argonian but it sounds like you are a vampire... I haven't met a friendly vampire until you.  Massacre, I can not wait to meet you... I focus mainly on destructive magic but it sounds like we could have some necro-fun... hmmm, maybe necromancy could be the answer to my blue balls!!!

Can I ask your advice?  There is a civil war going on but I have no idea why... Are the Nords just haters or is the Imperial Army to blame?  Why would the Stormcloaks want a Breton fighting for them if they hate us...  Any useful information would be appreciated as I can't get an unbiased opinion round these parts...

Right, I'm off to shed my armor and put on my sexiest medallion to impress Lydia...  wish me luck

Until next time, fuck Ast and happy travels...

I'm a Breton too, (currently at least, until the nines take me and i'm reborn again unto Nirn.) Yes a sexy vampire Breton who's between husbands. I've heard that Lydia often gets angry if you try to loot her cave, but I don't venture with that milk drinker. I just roam around with my two storm thralls perpetually blocking up doorways, or dremora lords if the mood takes me. I'm having an affair with most of the daedric princes, each one believes i'm loyal to them the fools. Speaking of which if you're into drunken debauchery you should find a guy called Sam Guevenne, that guy is a fucking legend. Best night I never remembered; woke up with a sore sphincter which was apparently due to a giant's toe lodged up there.

I guess QD could fill in for Hermaeus Mora if we paint him green and stick some anime tentacles on him.
