evan466 20 Report post Posted August 9, 2012 Well when I was making my Steam profile I didn't feel like being creative so I just put evan. It was taken, but steam recommened evan466 so I took it. I've since changed by steam name to The Man With No Name, named after my favorite movie character. But steam messed up and it shows me as being evan466 sometimes and other times The Man With No Name. chuck571 was created when my step-dad was making my X-Box live profile. When he was asked for a "name" he just put his name followed by the numbers 571. I like it because it's simple and I have no intention of paying 10 dollars to change it. About 22 years ago i fancied myself an author and had just discovered the ole internets and hotmail. I needed an email for something, (not porn, beleive it or not)... And wanted [email protected]... However, that was taken so i added q to mean "quick".. Qwriter.... 20 years ago i needed a username to play the lan version of bolo on middle school computers.. And also, since bolo was a game about shooting tanks, eg killing them i decided deathstar would be a good name, eg the star of death, as in famous person. A bit later i needed another email to contact people to play duke nukem 3d over 56k modems... So was gonna sign up as [email protected] but ofc, that was taken so i tacked on the q. Qdeathstar. When I joined, I was wasted and couldn't think of anything so I named my city Fluffy Town because that was the first thing that popped into my head. Later that night, I was bored with my life so I decided to Google "Fluffy Town". Nothing came up so I (still bored with my life) decided to make my own country. I saw the word "Google" across my computer screen in big colorful letters and decided to combine Fluffy Town and Google and name my country Googlefluff. I called myself Korben after Bruce Willis' character... It was mainly to play Quake at the time (Even created myself a quake skin of the character). I stuck with that name for a long time until I introduced myself to the world of motorbikes. As I pretty much live and breath motorbikes now I changed it to BikerKorben. The weird thing is that when I meet up with biker friends that I know from an internet motorbike forum they generally refer to me as Korben or Korbs, and not my real name. BlackSox9 448 Report post Posted November 19, 2012 I was the only person in my year at school that wore black socks, everyone else mostly wore white. I myself hate the colour white ( especially on clothing ) and prefer darker clothing like black ( even though I'm not a goth/emo or whatever ). A friend of mine came up to me and said hey BlackSox, and I replied What?! He then pointed out that it was odd that I wore different socks to everyone else, and asked me why. I replied that I didn't really know ( even though I did ). A little later I had a think about what he had said and it struck me that he was right. I eventually ended up deriving a deeper meaning from the interaction with my friend. The meaning was - That my black socks were different and that they were symbollic of my difference to other people. Not only in appearance ( the black socks ), but also in my perspectives and views ( which were different to the majority of people I knew ). So basically even though everyone is different to one another, I have always felt seperated from most people. In that my thought processes and views have always been very different and usually opposed to the majority of people in the society I live in. So my black socks were like a representation of that feeling of seperation from most people. Since High School I have used it on every username I've ever created.
