GTA 4 - Auto Load Problem

I just got a new PS3 and m having one minor issue. The game won't auto load. At the point it should, I get a message that says the software needed is unavailable so I need to start a new game then load my saved game.

Anyone know a fix for this?

Have you been playing the Episodes and switched back to regular IV? (or vice versa)

If so, the console might be trying to load the save game for the other disc. It tries to load the latest save game.

Yes I do flit between them fairly frequently. I played GTA 4 last though so I'll try that one again later. Just for my information is there something you have to download to enable the auto load?

No. Just need to make a save game for the one you are trying to play. The console should see it as the latest and try to load that.

The problem stems from the Episodes saves being grouped together with IV's saves. It's fine for the DLC downloads that add on to IV but creates issues with the disc version since the console can't find the other game information without the other disc.
