PedestrianRiotz 93 Report post Posted January 10, 2013 Here's a question, is it possible when one character gets hospitalized we are automatically switched to a different character?
JamieMilne 489 Report post Posted January 10, 2013 this is why i think rockstar should put out a gameplay series, or at least a Q&A, if people don't want the game spoiled then they don;t have to read it. but there was new game mechanics in Red Dead and they put out a gameplay series, so why not gta? at its core, gta v will be the same game we've been playing for years. but a lot of people want to see how the switching works, how certain aspects such as dying or getting busted works; will it switch to another character?.. is it shared pool of cash, is it a shared pool of weapons. i think maybe some people are put off by the 3 characters and if rockstar showed how easily it as been implemented into the game it could help day one sales, even though there prob wont be hurt, there could be a large group of people waiting to see how it all works
BRO_MAN 261 Report post Posted January 11, 2013 Has anyone mentioned the style of Just Cause 2? It has health pick-ups and it also regenerates, but just a very slow rate and only to a certain point. And the screen got decently red and shitty but meh, as long as everything is mostly visible I dont give a hoot.

Great when they do that. I'm really hoping the police will get their own video. Hopefully they have been improved enough

Rockstar kind of should do another Q & A, though. So many things are left in the dark, and I know they don't want to spoil much so they can come out with a bigger bang on release, but there are (what I feel) so many admissable features that could've been released from them by now. For me it's just car customization. Is it in or is it not? After that, I'm chill.
calimann83 125 Report post Posted January 11, 2013 Considering the trend in gaming to minimize the HID and use regenerative health I think that we are going to see a RDR system in GTAV. Now I have nothing against a regen system in general (it worked in RDR) but I think for GTA I would prefer having non-regenerating health. I like looking for health packs and armor. I also think I prefer the bars on the top over the wrap around on the map (but I know we wont see that).
BlackSox9 448 Report post Posted January 12, 2013 i think if gta v lets you walk about dressed in actual armour like that, then even more media will be blaming massacres on it. just something the game doesn't need, Your probably right. God I hate homicidal maniacs. i hate the people who blame that shit on video games even more. I agree. These are the same people that seem to think that Video Games are a Children's Pastime, even though the average age of a gamer is about 30 Years of Age. These same people jump to conclusions when it comes out that a mass murderer played videogames. They look at it from an outsiders perspective ( Parents/ Politicians/ and Lawyers looking to make a quick buck ), and without any understanding of gaming as a genre or even in a general sense, think that they can make an informed judgement on a case involving many factors, most importantly being Gun Control and Mental illness. Countless Studies have found that there has been no correlation or causation between violence portrayed in a video game, and violence being then re-enacted in reality. There have been some studies that have seen an increase in agression because of the competetive nature of a game, but this was also shown for non-violent games, and usually dissipated within a couple of hours or less. The fact of the matter is that most adults that are menatally stable individuals, can tell the difference between violence in a game and violence in reality. Both in the difference in the effects of their actions, and in any repurcussions they would then be subject to if they were to commit such acts of violence. Only a very small minority of people decide to commit these acts of extreme violence, and they probably do so out of individual problems with their personal lives or with society in general. Even if games did play a part in the causation of this persons actions, it was only one of a number of many triggers culminating in mass murder, and it would not even of been one of the major triggers. And all of these anti-gaming advocates that say that violent games dehumanise people, and desensitize them to violence. They forget one major principle that defines humanity as a whole, and that is that Violence is one of the Base Insticts of Human Nature. And one that will not disappear in the near future, or for some time to come. This along with Society's Apathy towards violence and other important social problems, are probably the major causes for the wide-spread violence you see in America and around the rest of the western world today. If in the future Western Society can come up with a structure that is more fair than Democracy in it's present form, I think we would see a major de-escalation in violence, and in crime in general. But just look at America ( the so-called leaders of the Western/ Free World ), it is one of the biggest proponents of inequality, just look at the way they view socialism. Due to some very smart propaganda from the Right-Wing there, the word has become abhorrent to the majority of people, and something like a Public Health care system is seen as a precursor to Communism, America's old enemy ( which is of course a joke ). I find it almost funny sometimes ( if it wasn't so sad ), that society is so shocked when things like this happen. And that they wonder what could of caused such unspeakable acts of violence. They don't think for a second that they themselves are to blame, every one of them wants to blame the individual that enacted the violence, but don't want to face the realities about what caused the problem in the first place. They voted for the government, and elected representatives in their Senate and Parliament, who pass the legislation for mental health care reform and the laws surrounding gun control. But what it ultimately comes down to is how we treat one another, on a human level. Because in the end we're the ones who disrespect one other and ridicule the weak and different. We assault one another, we lie, cheat and steal from one another. We cause other's to hate the world their in, and the society which seems to support inequality. Sometimes I can almost understand what some of these murderers went through before they decided on their course of action, even if I can't condone what they've done. A lot of other people don't want to put themselves in a detestable persons shoes, but if you want to fix the problem you first need to understand the causes. Just some of my opinions on the matter. BlackSox9 448 Report post Posted January 12, 2013 FFS Why do you always feel the need to type out an essay every other post? I get started, and can't stop typing till I've gotten most of my ideas out, then I usually have to force myself to stop. Otherwise that post would of been twice as long. Kwarb 104 Report post Posted January 23, 2013 i think GTA 5 got the HUD right, but i do want too see morechanges to the charactor also. like the Bulletproof vest being seen under or over your clothes, or being able to customize your armour like clothes by adding a helmet, or arm protectors, and etc, and maybe even the clolor of the armour. i think that should become part of the clothing part ofthe game as it is the weapons part. it should be fully customizable and should be upgraded, downgraded, colorized, and peiced on and off as you wish. the health should slowly regenerate, but with things in the game that can refill, or aide the process. i would like a bar, but with physical changes to the player evern more so then GTA 4 and RDR. not to the point of limbs coming off or anything, but just more visual damage. the way the weapons and money showed up in GTA 4 was perfect, but it should be a weapon wheel selectuion like RDR, or even Army of Two, the 40th day. the player should react to whatever situation he is in, and act accordingly, like taking off ruined armour, or maybe limping or acting different when wounded, and gradualy getting to better shape as your health regens. like the player gets shot in the thigh, and is limping to cover, but after a while of battiling with the cops, he gets up and moves better, but is still limping, and after your health regens fully, you should only see the blood on your clothes. DaRkX_Leus466 0 Report post Posted January 28, 2013 i prefer to both have a health bar but with regeneration (regeneration will depend on the injury) example when u got shot: it will always depend on the shot and the bullet type it can be slow, or fast regeneration visit the hospital for surgery LOL put bandages to prevent bleeding other ideas for injuries Example when u fall: of course your legs will break and your running animation will be different like hopping crawling if your legs are greatly injured fighting fist to fist: bruisses :DD

It would be cool if there were some RPG elements thrown in as well. Too bad Rockstar ruled that out.

Ku Zi Mu 1194 Report post Posted March 9, 2013 Id just like to point out for the 5th time that RDR's health display is bad, real bad... So don't do it, R*. I know you're considering it
llliiiiiiiiilllll 46 Report post Posted March 9, 2013 Id just like to point out for the 5th time that RDR's health display is bad, real bad... So don't do it, R*. I know you're considering it I don't think it was all that bad. I had no trouble knowing when to hop into cover. Although I would prefer having some sort of health bar as well. Personally I would hate if there wasn't regening health.. Regenerating health allows for more realistic damage without increasing frustration. Take GTA IV multiplayer for example.. the amount of bullets you could pump into a player was rediculous. I remember shooting people in the head twice to kill them, and to make it worse they wouldn't have armor on to justify it. Plus I don't know about anyone else but when I'm ripping around the mountains on a dirtbike and fall I don't want to have to carefully make my way back to the city to find a hotdog cart I rather get back up, let my health regen, and get back to having fun.
Rayge 689 Report post Posted March 9, 2013 Any form of physical bar of health is good, be it around the minimap or in the top left/right. Why not add flashing red as well?
GunSmith 2452 Report post Posted March 9, 2013 Gotta say, I wasn't too much a fan of being killed in one hit by a baseball bat to the head in IV. As realistic as it was, it frustrated the hell out of me. But, when I was lucky enough to do the same to an NPC, my feelings were far different. EDIT: Also, maybe like in MGS3, we'll be prompted to choose what GTA we like best to have certain HUD options change... I like GTA III! Numbers that reflect health and armor percentage are shown in the HUD. I like GTA:SA! Colored bars that reflect health and armor percentage are shown in the HUD. I like GTA IV! Health and armor are indicated by bars that wrap around the mini-map.
