I must be the only one who's hardly done any quests (just a few side ones) and spent the majority of my time scavenging, wandering and building up my 'home' at Sanctuary.

Looks pretty impressive now - have built an extension on the side and made a 'roof terrace' complete with patio furniture!  Must remember to take a few screenshots later.

The thing that put me off settlements was the ridiculously low build cap. Sure i've been using the scrap glitch but no doubt when that's patched all the excess stuff that i've built will disappear.

Saying that i'm looking at Egret tours marina for my new "place" in this playthrough. I want somewhere with danger nearby, no point having defenses if nothing ever attacks.

Barely been doing side quests either... everytime I tell myself to do one, I get distracted by a building or area I haven't cleared yet and forget what I was doing...  in fact, I'm not really sure what I am doing half the time or how I have spent so much time playing with little, other than a huge stash of shit, to show for it...  at the moment, I am at the General Atomics Galleria... I was on the way to a settlement that was having ghoul problems...

I haven't even heard or seen half the places people are talking about on here...

Me neither.   Cleared another place out and found more power armour, then (for once) did a side quest and found even more power armour and also another Fat Man (which I can sell since I already have one).

Just shows how bloody good this game is when I set out to do one thing then ending up doing something completely different!

Anyway, this is my collection of power armour so far - just need to find a helmet for the latest set I found before.

The Aquagirl perk makes exploration so much easier. (Y)

Speaking of wet pants, Piper's trying to get down my pants every time we ride the elevator into Vault 81. B):shlick:

I think we have to level up some more to get by a pack of Super Mutants to the east, or else it's time to break out all the biggest guns in my arsenal, underused thus far.

In the meantime, the Brotherhood is trying to recruit me but I don't think that'll work for my first character, her values seem to align more with the Minuteman, as the story progresses. I will continue with side missions and opening up the map before committing to one faction or another. In typical Bethesda fashion, it's impossible not to plot your next playthrough while playing the current one.

I've taken quite a few lovely/funny screenshots and need to take the time to share them here, will try and get some posted later tonight.

That's a great perk, especially due to all the loot and power armor submerged.

My girl has like 23 minute men settlements and still invited back to the BoS.

Really you can't do both?

I thought maybe can't do both BoS and the railroaders,,,I better go back to Cambridge Police Station.

Build caps were probably put in place to stablize frame rate....

I understand that, but they are still too low. Using the scrap glitch to build more, maybe twice the allowed amount doesn't have any discernable impact on fps. I get a slight lag when approaching Starlight as it all loads but that's it. It's fine when you're there. Compare that to being in Boston where you can get random fps drops pretty frequently by just looking in the wrong direction, i'd say that's more of a concern.

I've been dividing my time between minute men and BOS missions. Having said that I haven't got to a point where they have anything to do with each other yet. I just spent most of my time running around exploring. Thanks for the tip about submerged goodies. Got that perk early just for convenience. Haven't really used it for exploring though

i've got strong back maxed. Fucking hell its nice to be able to fast travel and run around when your over-encumbered. I sometimes do whole quests over-encumbered. I sneak around slowly anyway.

Video of merking 3 fucks with one mine.

I think that the aqua perk and the max strength perk of running over incummbered break the game.. It's like godmode...

STILL TOOK DEM PERKS THO.

At least the aquaman perk, ain't leveled up enough yet to get the strong back perk

I took the aqua perk after discovering the quarry... I swam around down there but didn't find anything interesting... No spoilers as I'm almost certain I missed something, Ima try to come back after it is drained

Which quarry? There is more than one.

If you mean Thicket, go back after you do the mission. Great surprises.
This location will later be used for missions that require settler protection.

I've had the max carry perks maxed for awhile, but it's like Fallout 3 and NV combined.

The 3rd level is frustrating in that it takes from your AP. First 2 are just more carry, last is like NV, fast travel.

Think I want to go full BoS playthrough this time, but the radiant Minuteman missions keep coming and I feel compelled to do them, I should've just said "fuck the Minutemen and fuck you Preston Garvey" and left them in Concord. Anyone had the random encounter with 'Preston Garvey'? Made me laugh.

Yeah some black guy pretending to be Preston with the outfit, musket and all. He ended up running away when I told him I knew Preston.

Just faced the group that drove Preston and his group out of Quincy, after their leader was killed.
Pretty good read on the terminals. If there was any doubt to their sincerity before, it convinced me.

I can't remember what Preston said way back at Concord, but thought maybe they were running from their past.

Jun and Marcy never stop their (mostly lame) dialog. Now I know it was trauma and a pretty sad story.

Now on to the coolest group so far, the Atom Cats.....

I wouldn't say the Atom Cats are that cool. The idea of ruining a set of power armour with a tacky flame paintjob to me is blasphemous.

That fight in Quincy was pretty epic though when I did it because there was a caravan travelling through there at the time and I was escorting the ghoul kid home. Plasma and mini nukes flying everywhere.
