damn, dogmeat don't fuck around! when i enslaved flak, i had to flee the city fast in order to avoid killing named citizens... well on my way out, i made it to anocosta (sp?) crossing... when the smoke cleared, i walked back outside and dogmeat immediately charges up the stairs... well apparently i wasn't wanted anymore, but dogmeat was... he proceeded to kill two security guards, and brock, the bouncer at the ruddy mudder, lol...

this mother fucker is one tough sumbitch, lol... i'll go back a few in-game days from now and see if anyone still wants to fight dogmeat...

I remember losing Dogmeat early on in my FO3 game...  ran into him about 60-70 game hours later with the item I had sent out to look for...

New Vegas is going slowly....  on my way up to Novac from Nipton...  tried to head east from Bradley's Shack, got raped by ghouls and glowing ones... tried to head to Novac straight from Goodsprings and got stalked by a seemingly over-powered giant rad scorpion...  hopefully I can pick up some decent weapons soon....

Bored with shelter already. I got attacked by deathclaws so I took everyone's weapons away and let the strongest survive. Went from about 120 dwellers to 64 scrapped a heap of rooms and let the corpses rot on the ground.

Am I not a benevolent overseer?

it's just a funny cartoon explaining the strength skill, which most of us know quite extensively...

i moved on to the pitt, seemed fitting.. heard of a reward, but realized that these slaves had only hope... so i dashed those dreams and now head toward asher, after swiftly dealing with the arena, to help him lead this town and squash any hope they had... but i'll do that either tomorrow or sunday :P...

knowing the stories and quests is one thing, but when it comes to fallout 4, it's going to be super refreshing to jump in not knowing what's gonna happen... ahhh, the good ol' days when you reflect back on your first playthough... at least there's multiple paths, and i always start a female 2nd characer ;)... and guess what? i'll probably name her delilah too...

I have finally got into the role of the Courier in New Vegas now...

He is basically good, looking out for the small towns and people who are just trying to look after themselves in the harsh environment... I am trying to maintain neutrality with the big factions at the moment but I feel that a showdown with Caesar's Legion is imminent...   I trust the NCR to a point but I am not sure I subscribe to their philosophy...

The search for the people who tried to kill me is still in the back of my mind, but I want to be prepared for the worst, so I am building up experience and a good supply of weapons and caps so I am ready for any type of battle.  I have based myself in Goodsprings at the moment but have recently been given a room in Novac, so I may relocate...  Jenny May is dead but I left Boone in the sniper tower as I don't want a companion at the moment... if the shit hits the fan with Caesar, then Boone is gonna be my shit shield...  cleared out HELIOS One and am now on my way to the REPCONN test site to check out the ghouls...

Just out of interest, how do you set your S.P.E.C.I.A.L. up for a first play through?  In both FO3 and FONV, I have put 7-8 in Strength, Intelligence and Agility and generally spread the rest pretty evenly...    I probably have Luck too high in NV (5) but I thought it might be useful on the Strip...

And, which of these would you increase at the expense of the others?  Perception, Endurance and Charisma?

Still no Dogmeat...

In NV I rolled something like:

S - 4

P - 6

E - 7

C - 1

I - 8

A - 6

L - 7

Assuming that adds up. Perception may have been 5. I've been told I build weird, though.

It all depends how you want to play. Unless you're going melee I'd drop your strength down from 7/8. Charisma is a totally useless stat in the game, as with high intelligence you get more than enough skill points to max speech. If I had my time over I'd drop my perception lower again, as when wearing a hat and with ED-E's sensor perk it was actually too high for my liking, as enemies appeared on my radar at a great distance so I had no idea how close they actually were. I always load up on luck as it influences critical chance, all your skills and I think some of the random items you find. Also, having high luck is useful in the casinos. If you want to do anything I'd drop strength (you can still have it higher than 4, I travel light) and charisma and put it into endurance (who doesn't like health?) and luck. Also don't forget certain perks have a SPECIAL requirement, so if you have your heart set on one of them keep it in mind when building.

I assumed Strength helped with HP and as a hoarder, I like to carry as much as possible, which is why I try to get that as high as possible...  I like to try to get as much HP as possible because I am quite useless at combat...

As a completionist, this game is frustrating as hell...  I have somehow ended up with some NCR fame, which I am hoping doesn't automatically shut the door on doing a few tasks for the Legion...

Also, where do I find Boone if I don't automatically recruit him as a companion?

Have been replaying New Vegas a lot recently- started new game and have managed to build myself upto level 20.  Despite the glitches which still haven't been fixed after 5 years, I've reminded myself just how brilliant and enjoyable the game is.

Have sided with the NCR - sorry but I hate the Legion!  I'm already idolised by the NCR, in Goodsprings, Novac and Freeside and pretty well liked in other places.  Obviously vilified by the Legion.

Still haven't played a couple of the DLC's so will get them done once I've built my courier up a bit more.

Nah, Endurance governs HP. Strength is for melee damage and carry weight. I use the strong back perk to compensate for my low carry weight. NCR fame shouldn't stop you doing Legion tasks, unless you're vilified. It all gets reset at a certain part of the story, so you can always change allegiances.

And Boone should be in Novac, guarding the dinosaur at night.

Fuck... forgot about character creation... *buys meth and books time off work*

I am finding that New Vegas isn't as engaging as FO3... I seem to walk for miles with nothing to look at or kill...  I've picked up 2 companions now - ED-E and Veronica... I am just checking out the Ranger stations for Reyes before sorting Benny out...

why do i feel like my first character will just be a test dummy? holy fuck this looks super deep!! i love the new perk magazines... whether they'll be in random locations or specific, will change the path of the game for future characters...

that levelling tree is fucking impressive tho... dear god, bethesda is holding out sooo much from us!! fuckers...

looking at level 10 charisma like wha?!?!...

attachicon.gif10-charisma.png

probably still not worth the investment, but i am intrigued...

Successfully sneaking into melee range and speaking to someone catches them off guard, allowing you to rob, disarm, and/or convince them to surrender, to bypass combat entirely.

Just a guess. It's the only thing that image could really imply.

Since there are five levels of each perk, I'm guessing...

1. Steal junk items.

2. Disarm.

3. Disrobe.

4. Convince not to fight.

5. Convince to fight at your side.

The article does mention there's a perk that makes enemies fight for you.

I will take level 3 and force everyone in the wastes to disrobe, for my amusement.
