DuPz0r 5361 Report post Posted September 1, 2013 haha 40 minutes! That blew my mind!
TreeFitty 2631 Report post Posted September 1, 2013 FLYING mind you. From what I've found, you can traverse Just Cause 2 corner to corner in a jet in 5-10 minutes. I don't think GTA V is even near that big either.
Banana Pudding 95 Report post Posted September 1, 2013 Some real interesting info in this video. And if he is telling the truth... holy shit. Skip to 7:50 in the video.
BlackSox9 448 Report post Posted September 1, 2013 ^^That would have to be one long bridge. @Bronson, there is no way that GTA V's map is that big. My guess is that it won't even take 5 minutes to travel from one end of the island to the other by plane ( even a broke-ass piece of junk could probably do it in 2 mins )... Bronson 702 Report post Posted September 1, 2013 I never said he was right, maybe he just misunderstood. Or the Rockstar Rep just trolled him hard thinking no one would be that stupid to believe that. I'll go with the latter.
GunSmith 2452 Report post Posted September 1, 2013 ^^That would have to be one long bridge. Yup. Hence "world's longest bridge" text.
TreeFitty 2631 Report post Posted September 1, 2013 I highly doubt it was a Rockstar employee to begin with. Again, that dumbass got trolled.
GunSmith 2452 Report post Posted September 1, 2013 Allegedly, game companies send "reps" out to various retail outlets such as GameStop and GAME before a game's release. Anyone know of this practice?
Bmw1126 67 Report post Posted September 1, 2013 Regardless, taking 40 Mins to fly across the map would be boring and the map would have to be the size of gtaV, gta IV, San Andreas, and RDR.
GunSmith 2452 Report post Posted September 1, 2013 I believe it takes about that time to cross Scotland from west to east.
Barrybran 851 Report post Posted September 1, 2013 Allegedly, game companies send "reps" out to various retail outlets such as GameStop and GAME before a game's release. Anyone know of this practice? I had a mate who used to work for EB Games and GAME over here and he used to get reps and communique from time to time. My understanding was they were like food reps in supermarkets in that they were there to sell things and provide tidbits of info without knowing the actual quality of the product. I believe it takes about that time to cross Scotland from west to east. By car maybe. It only takes an hour to fly from Edinburgh to Heathrow.

TreeFitty 2631 Report post Posted September 1, 2013 I think that would even take only about 20 minutes to cross GTA V's map. 30 tops. ... might need to test this when the game comes out (if there are model airplanes to fly)
DuPz0r 5361 Report post Posted September 1, 2013 How long did it take to cross the GTA IV via annihilator? Just times that by 5 and there's our estimate. I'd say 25 minutes tops. Probably 15-20 by jet.

I did that about 3 hours ago. it takes 3-4 minutes. NW to SE. Obviously the plane will be faster. I think you're spot on.

Just timed it in an annihilator. 1:22 above the nor west island to past south and east of the airport. Seems I'm shit at judging time.
Otiz P Jivefunk 670 Report post Posted September 1, 2013 ^ lol, me too. i'm guessing that with the jet the fly time no more than 2-3 minutes. The cessna, maybe 5-6. probably 40 mins when walkin.
beatnicpie 825 Report post Posted September 1, 2013 Back when I first joined the forums I circled the island of San Andreas in a Rustler. It took 16 minutes and some seconds.

beatnicpie 825 Report post Posted September 1, 2013 I plan on doing a bicycle tour of San Andreas as Franklin. Can't wait for the final map so I can start planning my route. I'll be sure to post the time it takes.
BRO_MAN 261 Report post Posted September 1, 2013 I plan on doing that, and a lap around the entire island on a jetski. Let's get a set route for the bike tour and compare times, although I'm sure either will be one the most created races.
